Homewood Suites Fort Myers Airport - FGCU

Another fabulous stay at our favourite American hotel, this time for 13 nights.

Due to the lack of direct flights from the UK we needed an overnight stop in Atlanta before flying down to Fort Myers, arriving at about midday.

We were greeted warmly by Barbara at reception who helpfully stored our bags until the room we had requested was available while we sunbathed around the pool.

We had emailed the hotel prior to arrival requesting as quiet a room as possible (together with extra clothes hangers for the anticipated shopping) and Lauren kindly sorted both of these requests.

The rooms are spacious with all the facilities one could need and the big plus point was the number of USB charging points - so important in this day and age. The fridge is huge, the bed enormous, and it really felt like a home from home. The rooms had been refurbished since last year.

At breakfast the following morning it was lovely to see Estrella, Denia and Rafael again working so hard to keep the guests happy. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them and they are a credit to the hotel.

It was also great to see Maria again who welcomed us with a big smile every morning and helped out at breakfast also. We practiced our Spanish with her.

The Wednesday evening social hosted by Barbara and Estrella. Barbara's bingo calling was a delight as guests got to know each other (and we got to celebrate Eugene's birthday again).

Come check-out time Barbara helpfully printed off our boarding passes and we took the shuttle to Fort Myers Airport.

Eighteen hours later we were back in the UK: was Fort Myers just a dream? No it was real and we are just waiting for flights for 2027 to go on sale so we can return.

I loved staying here over the past 17 years Denia, Estrella, and also Rafael make and amazing breakfast and evening reception definitely lots of great memories! Hope to come back soon

Friendly staff, clean, convenient location… I could single out almost every house keeping and kitchen personnel, just to name a few; Claribel, Nicole, Maria, Yudermis, Ramon, Denia, “Juanito”, Estrella, Rafael, Evi, and many more…

Just arrived yesterday the 26th of January. This morning was greeted by smiling faces of Denia and Rafael. We are repeat customers here. Rafael always keeps a banana in the refrigerator for me. That is all I eat for breakfast, a banana and a glass of water. No matter the day He always is there to greet me with that smiling face and great customer service. They put out a great breakfast spread here with a huge variety for everyone's appetite. Thank you Denia, Estrella, and Rafael for always going above and beyond!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

My husband and I appreciated the wonderful staff at this hotel. They are just like family to guests: breakfast crew Denia, Estrella and Rafael; receptionist Barbara; household staff Maria, Nicole and Ramon. The hotel has a great location with fine amenities. Buffet breakfast is delicious, Wednesday night Social supper/Bingo is great community fun! This is THE hotel for guests!

What a pleasant surprise. Friendly staff. Clean room. As a bonus, on Wednesdays they have a greet and meet at 5:30. Complimentary food, beer, and wine. Plus, bingo until 7:00. Strongly recommended this well run hotel!

Estrella did an awesome job last night at the Wednesday social. She was by herself and still managed to come by and pick up our plates. Always smiling and going above and beyond! Bingo was so much fun glad you brought it back! We are usually here once a month for business . Denia and Rafael did great job at breakfast that same morning! I wish the 3 of them could be everywhere we stay. Best crew ever! 10 🌟

It was a good experience for my business trip despite the current renovations that were ongoing during my stay. I would like to specially mention Denia and Estrella for their work during breakfast time.

I strongly recommend replacing the dryers in the laundry room as they do not work properly.

This is one of the only places I will stay at in Fort Myers. The hotel is beautiful and the service is amazing. Huge shout out to Denia, Estrella, and Rafael for taking such good care of us.

Great stay and friendly staff. My suite was spotless and comfortable. I had to leave too early for breakfast however I appreciated the coffee in the lobby before my flight. I look forward to returning.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I’m a female traveling alone and stayed for 4 nights. It’s extremely safe, the staff is super friendly, everything is immaculately clean and it’s within walking distance to several places to eat. The only reason I gave 4 stars for the facility instead of 5 is because my daughter planned to come hang out with me and grill one day and that was the day the pool was closed for maintenance. We could use the pool next door (at Hilton) but that’s where we usually stay and the pool is in the hot sun with no shade and there are no grills. Other than that, the stay was perfect!
