Great location and good service. Almunecar beaches are very special and amazing sunsets. Too bad that there is constantly noise from little Airplanes flulow over town and coast

This is our third visit to this hotel.
The staff and facilities are very very good but the food ordinary. It's plentiful and varied but reliably poor quality and astonishingly salty. We were half board and ate out much better. I think just doing breakfast would have been much better for our group.
This is really sad as everything else is really great. Surely they could improve?

This hotel is wonderful. We stayed in the junior suite and is was perfect for us. The whole suite was immaculate. Our favourite part was the terrace. We used our outside bath, whilst watching the sunset together. It was truly beautiful. The staff were really attentive, and our housekeeping lady was lovely. We cannot wait to go back

Boring food, such variety. The beds are rock hard, as are the pillows. no duvet, just a sheet as a duvet. forced to leave the room 13 hours before the bus leaves for the airport. also not offered to eat in their restaurant even though we paid for 7 days and were kicked out on day 6. the pool is very cold, not heated. no direct activity at the pool. poor cleaning of the room, changing towels, but not changing bed linen. stressed staff in the restaurant. many cannot speak English at all. strongly recommend choosing another hotel.

Great atmosphere at the hotel and surrounding area of almunecar, old town is just about 20 min walk lots of nice cafe’s and bars and restaurants to stop in along the way

The staff were always helpful and very nice. The location is perfect as it's a few meters from the beach and there are numerous restaurants around. The room was of a good size and was very clean. Breakfast had loads of different food choices so there is something for everyone.

This is the second time we have been to this hotel, it is just perfect, good location, hotel rooms are spacious and always cleaned to a high standard, good selection of food and the staff are very helpful and friendly. We will be returning next year

We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions.
We love the area and lovely catching up with friends from Spain and who visit the hotel every year like us.
Spanish staff were lovely and helpful as usual especially Andrea, Emmanuel, Oscar and the lovely man who has been there for years (just can't remember his name). They have conversations, acknowledge and remember us.
My youngest loves Oscar and was so happy when he came back from his holiday and remembered him.
The staff did seemed to be overworked as there was a lack of staff especially in bar and restaurant areas (especially in the evening and lunchtimes). In the evening there were long queues especially when the outside bar closed at 9pm. The other years we have visited this has not been the case. The tables were not cleared of dirty glasses due to the staff member serving drinks.
The entertainment team again only really catered for French clients which was a shame as we thought this may have improved from last year after all the negative reviews/comments.
The Spanish entertainer always came up to us and spoke to my children. Everything was spoken in French where as when we visited 3 years ago it was translated in French, Spanish and English to include everyone.
The lifeguards were not consistent and rules were changed with who ever was on duty. The older lifeguard with the beard was on it and made sure everyone was safe.
We hope some improvements will be made as we loved coming to this hotel in the past and you manage to keep your hardworking Spanish staff and they did look tired and stressed at times.
My boys did love swimming each day and playing football in the softly area.
The housekeeping staff were brilliant and lovely as usual, always saying good morning with a smile.
Reception staff were helpful.
Food was nice.

Great stay as usual. Spanish staff as helpful as always. Sonia, Oscar and Andrea still make you feel special as do all the restaurant/bar staff. Housekeeping staff are very efficient and keep bedrooms clean. Only downside is the very French evening entertainment but can stay outside and avoid it or go to the nearby beach with its stalls and children's rides

Based on my personal experience during my stay...
If you’re looking for a peaceful, quiet, and quality holiday experience, I suggest considering other hotels in the area. there are definitely better alternatives.
This hotel is very large and seems to be designed primarily for large tour groups, often arriving by bus and checking in as a crowd. It caters well to bulk tourism, especially through operators like TUI etc.
If you happen to make a reservation by mistake and miss the free cancellation deadline, there is absolutely no flexibility. No matter how early or reasonably you ask. I tried several times, even during check-in. The answer was always the same.
The reception staff were kind, helpful, and always smiling. I truly appreciate their friendly and solution-oriented attitude. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the hotel management.

PUT ON 7TH FLOOR BARKING DOG NEXT ROOM. WHY PUT A DOG UP THERE. HOT FOOD LUKEWARM ONCOLD PLATES. VERY NOISY IN RESTAIRANT. AVOID.

Was concerned by some negative reviews. However was pleasantly surprised and the hotel is exactly as it describes. It was clean, bedrooms are spacious even if some decor is a little tired. Staff friendly and obliging. Pool area was clean & not over crowded & the hotel was full! We did not book all inclusive as although we were with young children we wanted to experience local restaurants. There are many local restaurants & a huge supermarket next door to hotel. Hotel breakfast catered for most palettes and was fresh and plentiful. The only draw back was pool slide being prepared to open, however we knew it was closed from previous reviews before booking. As previous reviews stated not many brits, so mainly Spanish & French. Outside bar food was delicious & my husband especially enjoyed happy hour! Almuñecar a very pretty little town & only 30 mins to Nerja which is well worth the visit. Eating out not expensive & huge portions.

Wonderful location and views, excellent choice of foods and drinks for breakfast with very hard working staff ensuring that nothing ran out. Lovely pool area, though the animation team were extremely annoying; like they thought they were at an 18-30 resort rather than a quiet one with generally older guests and families! The decor is slightly dated, I would see it as old world charm rather than run down though, everything was well maintained and clean. We’d definitely return. Thank you iberstar, your staff are just fantastic.

Breakfast included hot section cold section.omelettes made as you ask . Chocolate section with churros and even Cava for those who liked a cheeky drink with breakfast.

I have been visiting this hotel for many years. During my working life I spent time in hundreds of hotels all around the world. What I love about this hotel is the staff who are exceptional.They are proactive hard working and kind and I enjoy very much seeing them in action. ( ps I was once there for a New Year’s eve dinner and watching them work was like experiencing a Marvel super hero movie)!

Despite bad weather we had a good stay. We stay here regularily out of season for the warm indoor pool and big jacuzzi.
The food is not as good as it used to be but is acceptable. Breakfast is good.
We always stay in a suite nowadays. Furnishings tired but if the rooms were improved im sure the prices would shoot up. A 'spanish family' style, friendly, welcoming hotel. Always same staff.

Beautiful hotel - great staff - breakfast was super - good value for money. Super location on the promenade which is beautiful to walk - a short walk to restaurants and Old Town. Would recommend this hotel - has a lovely pool area for relaxing days.
