Lovely staff and the views :)
We ate in the restaurant 2 nights and the food and service were excellent each time.
Access may have been difficult for anyone unable to use stairs, but our party was fine with that.
Restaurant was fantastic - delicious food
Great view from the bedroom and restaurant
Great location
No lifts - stairs to carry up luggage
The hotel was a lovely historic hotel very close to the station with no traffic noise.
Unfortunately the tv did not work which was inconvenient as I returned to the hotel to rest and couldn't use the TV in my room. The bath was wonderful though. Also there was a live pianist on the Saturday evening which added to my stay.
The tv didn't work which was disappointing.
Classic charm! Love this place. So romantic. Incredible to walk in and enjoy the lovely, talented guy on the piano (FAVE part of staying here) then offered complimentary canapés, order a drink, sit and watch the incredible views inside or out. What a welcome. Hotels just don’t have this kind of timeless charm and little touches like asking questions, free fruit and chocolates at front desk and a bath bomb left in the room. It was all so lovely. We’ll def be back. Pool looked great but due to the weather we couldn’t enjoy it.
My partner had to send his meal back due to the meat being overcooked. He was offered a complimentary drink after that though and service was really good.
It was raining very heavily during our stay so there wasn’t much to do in the area so really, all we could do was use the room spa, read, and drink at the bar. Also visited the Cultural centre and gallery which was good. Rainy day activities say bingo, trivia or a fitness room would be good.
Great location and views. Hotel staff were uniformly welcoming and helpful. Really appreciated piano player during happy hour in the foyer. Comfortable large lounge areas. Bed was very comfortable.
Sofas in our room were convertible to beds and were not v comfortable just to sit on. I felt that having paid nearly $1400 for 3 nights, paying an extra
$35 for a buffet breakfast was a bit much
Stunning views of the valley and local environs. A quiet location considering that the western rail line was just above and we didn't hear any trains. No traffic noise either from the road below. A very old world charm that had many luxury features.
I would have used the breakfast offer from the dining room if it wasn't just a buffet.
It is not worth it
see above
breakfast, same every day was boring and univentive
Great room, very comfortable bed, loved the bar and sitting area, inside and out. Very friendly staff. Location was really good.
Nothing
Fire in room and excellent customer service and comfortable beds
Loved everything
Room cold and damp, think a broken window that rated, tiles on bathroom broken. Ran out of things on bar menu, esp on valentines day when only menu unless you wanted valentines dinner, not great for solo traveller
