Super quiet. The old time luxury feel was evident. Would stay there again.
Pros:

The historical aspect was awesome. You could feel it. Outlook was great from the bar area. Bed and showers were great. Free laundry. Nigel at the front desk was very accommodating.

Cons:

A bit too far away to walk to town. But we didn’t mind. The rsl down the road was cheap and tasty.

Pros:

View was beautiful

Cons:

I had asked for a view and expected stairs but not spiral stairs with the only handrail on the inside with extremely narrow treads.

Great setting for my 80th birthday.
Pros:

We held my 80th birthday party in the restaurant with 15 of my immediate family. the service and meal were excellent.

Everything was perfect.

Pros:

The room needs a maintenance. No phone to ring the reception if you need, and the kettle didn't work.
You can't connect your phone on the TV, and the breakfast wasn't that great. No many options for fruit, and the eggs were cold.

Cons:

The price for staying there wasn't worth it.

Old fashioned slightly falty towers without Sybil
Pros:

It has preserved an old world feel. Old pictures on the walls, a nice fireplace. It was as if id been transported back to my aunt’s place in the 70s.

Cons:

Poor breakfast. Terrible coffee. Tasteless scrambled eggs, old baked beans.

Disappointing
Pros:

The hotel has old world charm with a great deal of potential. Nice views from the dining room.

Cons:

Some of the staff were surly. Housekeeping was very tv lack lustre. Room was dated and had an old smell. Had to have the windows open and burn a candle.

Cóż za wspaniały hotel! I ten Personel! Bardzo miłe powitanie, pomoc w przechowaniu bagażu, wiadomość jak pokój był już posprzątany gdybyś chcieli zameldować się wcześniej. No i wisienka na torcie w piątkowy wieczór muzyka na żywo, happy hour na drinki i przepyszna kolacja, a wszystko to ze wspaniałym widokiem na Góry Błękitne. Śniadanie świetne, duży wybór, doskonałe świeże owoce, pyszna kawa. I znowu obsługa na najwyższym poziomie. Hotel widać ma swoje lata ale pokój był nieskazitelnie czysty. Panuje w nim niesamowita atmosfera przez to jak jest urządzony, piękna stolarka, obrazu na ścianach, stare fotografie. Ogromnie polecam dla tego klimatu i ludzi, którzy w nim pracują!

Beautiful view and restful stay, with helpful staff.
Pros:

The lovely views from the lounge and breakfast areas. The buffet breakfast has the same spread everyday, but was nice.

Cons:

There’s a smell each time we enter the room. It was not a pleasant smell. The smell disappeared after a while.
Basic cutlery should be provided in the room. There wasn’t any spoon.
We had the spa. A non-slip mat would help to ensure safety for those like us who just wanted to shower.
I think the hotel could afford not to charge for a cup of freshly brewed coffee? It offered pitchers of coffee and charged 6aud for a cup of freshly brewed one. Perhaps it can consider providing a machine for guests to make their own coffee.

Lots to love but little things could be improved.
Pros:

Located well within working distance of all the restaurants in Katoomba. Comfortable bed and very clean.
The views from the terrace and the bar area are amazing.
The cocktail bar was lovely and the young guy who attended to us w as s wonderful and full of advice for where to go to see the best sights.
It's a very old hotel with lots of history and charm and "squeaky floors" which adds to its charm.

Cons:

1. Despite having a Netflix Smart TV, it was not connected to the internet and only free to air channels were available. This is not acceptable in todays digital world. It was not possible to even CAST my phone to watch Netflix or YouTube because the TV was not connected to internet. There was a CAST option on the TV and despite connecting to this option, it did still did not work. I had to walk down to reception, (because the phone had no instructions as to how to contact reception), and seek assistance. I was told that the CAST service does not work as it was not connected yet!!!
2. There was a shower cap or glad wrap covering the smoke detector in our room. This was very serious and I reported it and gave reception a photo.
3. Breakfast was $35/ head. The service at the buffet was great. However, the food was not so good. The bacon was like leather. We paid extra for a cappuccino and chai latte but these were not great either.
I would not recommend the buffet option as you are not far from the shops and you get better choice and value at local cafes (which we did the next morning).
