I was not aware the pool was under maintenance

It was under renovation would not have stayed had I known. Did not offer a discount for noise and paint falling off ceiling.
900 S. Loop 35 Alvin, my room was always cleaned everyday that I came in. The cleaning lady Angelica made sure everything was organized and clean.
Decent amenities and the location was convenient.
Not enough luggage carts available. Shower and bathroom was not very clean. Toilet did not appear to have been completely wiped down. Countertop was much the same. Shower needs a deep cleaning. Mildew and hair were all over. Towels appeared well used and needing replacement. Mentioned to desk staff person when leaving. I plan on frequent stays in that area and hope the room cleanliness improves. Great breakfast!
Rooms are always clean and comfortable
Had nothing to do with the hotel.However , guests next to us were belligerent drunks who made noise, slamming doors and screaming obscenities. It was a couple who were fighting the whole time. Front office clerk did exactly what he should do tell them if they didn't stop he was going to call the police
The staff was very friendly, the bed was comfortable and so were the pillows. We loved the size of the shower and thanks for the Dove Shampoo, conditioner and body soap. I didn't have to get mine out.

The bathroom tile wasn't clean. I saw tiny roaches.

On the 2nd floor there was a moldy smell that doesn't usually happen in a holiday inn.
The staff were rude during check in and even when we went to ask general questions during random times throughout the day. The pool didn’t work and I advised the website did not state the pool was not working, they quickly said with attitude it was not their fault since we booked through Expedia and they never update their website with any information. We were told of this information after checking in so we could not change our minds of cancelling and looking elsewhere. They advised the next day the pool was going to be fixed and it never was. I believe the manager stated they will clean whatever is in the pool so guests can get in but the pumps will not be on since they do not work (which meant we will be swimming in dirty water). The breakfast was alright, the pancake machine was also not working. The restroom looked like it had mold on the ceiling with the black specks and the bathroom sinks had black between where the sink met with the counter which also looked like mold. Beds looked clean as well as the rest of the room. The tubs have no sort of lining in them which were super slippery and slipped while getting in and during my shower. We bought the insurance in case anything were to happen, if it was not met up to our standards or cancelling last minute and they had no information and said we could not get refunded. Overall their information was a mess and we still stayed but kept to ourselves for four days.
