Nice breakfast and meeting room, nice lobby surrounded by paintings and artwork, the paintings and artworks are the expression of creativity, imagination and talent of the artist. Nice meeting room with expensive air conditioner
We came straight from the airport to the Pade and spent a very comfortable night. Dinner was decent and the breakfast the following morning excellent. All the staff were very helpful and attentive. Recommend.
This is a good hotel in Banda Aceh. Its clean, service is good and its in a good location. they provide shuttle from airport to hotel vv. and mie aceh is my favorite menu from room service with great tasted of the food.
Review for stay back in June 2016
One of the hotels with the best view. Surrounded by village scenery, paddy fields and hills. Very pleasant and helpful staffs. Quiet surrounding. Good WiFi connection speed. Towels were changed daily although instructed not to (not sure a good or bad thing LOL).
Breakfast buffet line could be improved. Same goes to lunch and dinner choice (put more variety of Western food instead of just Indonesian). Entrance to lobby have steep stairs, quite a challenge if you have big luggage. Though generally hotel was clean, need to improve in overall design and storing of equipments (visible to guests).
Stayed for one night on our way to Pulau Wey. We did not check out the pool.
What we liked:
- friendly and helpful staff
- beautiful setup around a courtyard
- ok clean apart from stained fabrics (see picture)
- ok wifi
What we disliked:
- noisy guests till late at night
- in a country so rich in fruits, serving a sugary sirup instead of real orange juice for breakfast is hard to understand
- fabrics both in the room and the breakfast area were stained (neglect or little understanding of professional hospitality)
- the architect apparently put form before function: 50% of the hotel is a no-lift zone which is difficult if you have any knee problems
Stayed only one night, however I could have stayed longer. The desk service is very efficient and friendly, they booked a taxi to the airport for us, also a trip around the town the day before. Took a meal in the restaurant, there was another table with three very noisy men and a woman - so noisy infact we moved outside to eat as it was very rude of those people to be laughing and shouting in a restaurant, staff apologised but it was not their fault, the people who caused the noise should have apologised.
Breakfast was open at 06:00 just before we checked out, there was a good choice of fresh food to choose from. The rooms are clean, have a TV, bathrooms a good size shower with plenty of hot water. Fridge in the room - a coffee maker but no kettle! The bed was large and very comfortable I didn't want to get up at 04:30 but had not choice! Would stay here again.
This is a well appointed boutique hotel outside the city centre en route from the airport. The staff were invariably polite, courteous and friendly despite some only having limited English language capability. In general thier English was much better than my attempts at their Indonesian language.
good design , but far from downtown. they have a great garden, but not big, have a small swimming pool, price high, i book at booking, get price is 7600000 for one night , it is a a hotel for relax, but not a good hotel for city tour
The Pade hote is a nice hotel, only 3 stories high. And the have separate pool where you have to walk cut through pade or rice fields , feels like sanctuary pool.
Food is just ordinary and the services also.
I left my reading glasses there but up until 1 month they haven’t sent to me yet 😓.
But compare to other hotel this is my works colleagues said is the best in town.
Oh reminder to all travel , I am a catholic but when you visit Banda Aceh you have to wear hijab, avoid shorts and short skirt, no tank tops, unless you are foreign citiziens they will understand. But my suggest we need to wear something proper according to their culture to show them that we respect theirs.
is a nice Hotel with swimming pool and poor Fitnes. The suite is big and have frezer and buthup. The breakfirst is only local. For Dinner you get god foot in the reataurant. In the near from the Hotel have to many restorant. The Price for the room is to expensive. Dont accept!! you can get 50% discount for room!!! the Personal is very friendly and helpfull.
Despite its location away from downtown Banda Aceh, I have many reasons why I should return to stay at this hotel. The exterior which, personally, became my favorite. You can sit for hours in the lobby while enjoying the beautiful exterior of the building with the sound of water from the pool in the hotel lobby. Pade means Rice, of course you can enjoy the scenery of rice fields surrounding this hotel, which gives the impression very comfortable and healthy. The pool is small but comfortable and much more my reason to come and stay again at this hotel.
But it was almost better than some 4 star hotels like holiday Inn at sukunvi 11 in bkk. The staff were friendly. The pool was too small and the water needed a change.
The breafast was so so snd very simple. A la carte menues were pricy and the portion was snall. There is a local food stall in front of the hotel snd it was cheap and good to eat chicken with rice for enambles. One the left of the hotel was a good copi chain. Not much to do around and too far away from town. The lobby played some sane spa music 24 hrs a day. It was nice but very painful after hrs.
My family and I booked 2 rooms in The Pade Banda Aceh. We stayed for 3 nights.
What we like from the Pade:
1. Room is spacious. All rooms in level 2 and 3 have balconies.
2. Swimming pool is nice. Children are very happy to have one like this in Banda Aceh.
3. Hot water, AC works well
4. Room and Barhroom are clean
5. The service. Staff are very helpful.
6. Check in and check out are efficient.
What we found need to be improved:
1. Menu for breakfast. I wish to see local Aceh food rather than salad bar. Indonesian food is available but being in Aceh for the 1st time, I expect to see a unique menu over breakfast.
2. The pillows and towels. Time to purchase new ones.
3. The coffee/tea maker. As it is not a common model, it is good to add a cart to explain how it works.
Hotel is not on the city center, but I believe this is the only hotel in Banda Aceh with resort ambience. The Pade has a jogging track in the rice fields too.
As our flight from Sabang to Medan had been cancelled, we took the ferry to Banda Aceh instead and had to book a hotel quickly. We chose The Padé because of its good rating here on TripAdvisor (I won't soon be fooled by that again). I didn't want to look around for a long time and just wanted a nice hotel, never mind that it is a lot more expensive than most other hotels in town.
The first impression in that of an interesting, Moroccan-style building. The lobby area is quite beautiful, although it would be a problem for elderly or disabled people to climb up the stairs – the lobby is located one floor above street level. The hallways are exposed to the elements and tiled with small tiles, which look nice but make a noise when someone rolls their suitcase along the corridor.
The check-in process was a bit slow due to several guests arriving at the same time, but the staff tried their best to serve everyone quickly. We got our room key, but when we were already in the elevator, we were told that the room wasn't ready yet. After a few minutes waiting, we got the key to another room.
The room looked nice at first sight, with a huge bathroom and a great view, but was a bit smelly and all the upholstery was heavily stained. The bathroom wall also had stains and handprints on it, the floor mat had tears and holes (you wouldn't even find a rag like that isln a cheap B&B, I bet) and some tiles were cracked. Weirdly for a hotel of this class, there were only two large towels in the bathroom, no hand or face towels. The water pressure is good, which is rare in Indonesia.
Another strange thing are the small amateur paintings hung up in clusters. The placement makes no sense at all. I actually checked behind the paintings to see if there were holes in the wall or something like that, but that's not it. It feels like the handyman was given a crate of paintings and told to put them somewhere in the walls.
The WiFi practically didn't work. You could connect to the WiFi, but there was extremely slow and sometimes no Internet access at all.
The construction of the hotel seems to have been a rush job as there is evidence of shoddy workmanship everywhere. When using the stairs, watch out for steps with different height.
The breakfast room is nice, but very cold. The buffet includes delicious Acehnese food but limited Western options. There was no pancake or egg station, and there weren't even knives on the tables, you had to ask the waiter for them. The beverage labelled as orange juice was, in fact, a sugary concoction made from powder (Nutrisari or similar).
The waiter on duty seemed a bit lazy. Although we came to have breakfast at 6:30 a. m. and he was alone in the restaurant, he hadn't properly cleared a table that had been used already. He didn't clear any used plates from our table. Also, the whole room started to vibrate every few minutes, seemingly when an air conditioner was running somewhere else.
The Pade is a recent, nice and quiet hotel to stay in Banda Aceh, where there are very few options in the same category. It is of course far from the X-stars standards it claims, but this is common in Indonesia and, by comparison with others, it is just fine. The rooms are not spacious but they are very clean, the balcony overlooking a pool is nice and quietening, and the hotel is surrounded with beautiful rice fields. The personnel are kind and try to help although communication will be difficult if you don't speak some Indonesian. Extra-beds are expensive (Rp. 330000) and cotbeds not available, but there is a wide couch where a kid up to 3-4 years old can sleep.
We were however disappointed with the "Bada Aceh Tour", advertised at the hotel's reception : instead of a "Tour", we got a driver (he was very nice and this is not his fault, but being a tour guide was definitely not his job) who kept on asking us where we wanted to go, so we had to find out what were the attractions we wanted to see and ask him to take us there ; he drove us around in circles as if to justify his job instead of logically going to all the sights in the same place ; and entrance or parking fees were not included in the price we paied to the hotel, as is usually the case in "Tours".
If you are looking for a good hotel in Banda Aceh City, Pade Hotel is recommended, this Hotel is top of my list.
Good room ambiance, clean linen, close to local famous traditional Coffee Shop (Kopi Solong)
First impression beautiful architecture. Checked in takes time little bit longer. Room spacious but need renovation, look too old. Unable too adjust temperature from air conditioning. Wifi connection poor. Not many choices during breakfast.
overall the hotel exterior is nice, feel like you are in middle-east, with the architecture and the palms surrounding the hotel..
the interior of the room needs maintenance, the room is spacious but the towel is yellowish and the curtain needs to be changed.
the hotel staffs were very helpful
I enjoyed my staying in this very quiet hotel. The rooms have a large space, with a midle east balcony. But still, you can enjoy the tropical scenery view of paddy field, hilly forest, and Mount Seulawah. You can also watch the herons and egrets from a distance, and white-headed munias, just to remind you that you're not in the middle east. You may find the complementary in your room as more than you can expect it.
