The bed although comfortable enough could do with a new mattress
Very comfortable and clean staff extremely accomodating and helpful
Food really good
Ignored when checking in - receptionist was in the phone but a nod or smile to acknowledge you are there would have been nice, or a polite “sorry to keep you waiting” but nothing! But an abrupt “Are you wanting to check in ?”
Room
Spacious room but quite tired. Only enough milk for one cup of tea but otherwise adequate.
Lovely hotel, staff very friendly
lovely stay, perfect surroundings, Huge if slightly dated rooms, well equipped and the kindest most helpful staff you could hope for.
First rate hotel. We had a small dog which was catered for very well along with a room on the ground floor with a sliding door exit to the gardens, ideal. facilities offered very good, and the meals we had were excellent.great value fpr money. We will definately rebook when in the area next. Very pleasant staff, very accomodating.
Looks great from outside, the restaurant area is good but hotel past reception is grubby.Carpets are filthy and paintwork battered.Terriblesmell in corridors.
The hotel is a hidden treasure. Spacious rooms, lovely swimming pool, restaurant with good atmosphere and attentive staff
Room was clean and a generous size. Though somewhat dated in appearance. Shower over the bath really needs a walk in shower area. We only stayed one night after attending a wedding nearby.Breakfast was a full English and very good.
Nice big rooms but a bit dated could do with freshening up.
Nice hotel, good value, staff very friendly, nice pool and steam room. Food was very good. Peaceful surroundings and pleasant gardens and grounds.
Disappointed about breakfast we didn’t book but it said you can book breakfast when at the hotel for £10… We asked at the reception when arrived and got told because you didn’t book online its now £17 for breakfast..I’m sorry that’s not happening at £17…….
Staff behind bar need to get training attitude!! young boy serving he has no idea how to treat customer when i ask a drink.
He needs to learn how to talk.
I did left the hotel 4am because not worth it to stay there!
Our first impresdion of the reception area was WOW. Beautiful venue with breathtaking grounds. Lovely sun terraces and fantastic restaurant with amazing food. Would recommend. We had an evening meal which was superb and Breakfast was great too. Spa area small but nice enough for a relaxing dip in the pool and steam room, sauna and very small gym but enough for me. My only disappointment was that our room was a club room and accessed via a path to an annexe which did not have the same WOW factor as the main building. The room was very big with large bathroom, large lounge with couch and separate dressing area which was a nice touch and although it had been decorated recently and clean i just had the feeling that it was a bit tired. The furniture was old and the bathroom was very tired and needs to be fully updated. Bed was very soft and bouncy but slept ok. Just loved the place and sad the room was not so first class as the rest of the hotel. Having said that it was acceptable for what we paid.
Staff are delightful! The rooms are clean if a little dated. Nice clean bathroom and bedding. It's a good three star place!
Hotel relatively newly refurbished. Little details would make a significant improvement. No towels available either in room or at the pool, unless you take the couple required in the room. Pillows o the bed very poor. Door to balcony in room, very poor, needs a good clean and painting. Seems like a lot of money spent on front of house and little more on the rooms , which a spacious and comfortable would improve the experience
The public areas are beautiful. Function room excellent, lovely food.
My room looked grubby stained carpet, damaged furniture, broken pull switch in the bathroom. Poorly layed out bathroom, no were to put the hand , had to leave it on the bath so you drip water on the floor after washing your hand, again no were to hang bath towels while in the shower, only on the wash basin or towel rail behind the bath opersit side of the bathroom, shower tray very slippy no hand rails.all light switches and plug sockets look grubby.
Loads of different breakfast times by staff or room card 9.30 to 10am.
Good location with pool and sauna, but the bed was definately past its best, hard and lumpy. Excellent restaurant on site.
Everything was good not fabulous but not poor, a few nicer biscuits would have been welcomed.
