Spa day
Pros:

We had a spa day at the Islington Hotel on the 8/2/26 , the spa facilities are great, we both had a massage, the consultant who gave me a massage was amazing, she was very professional and very friendly. We also had a meal included, which was suburb , we had roast striploin of beef , I have to say I haven't tasted beef like that for a very long time, it was very tender, the best I have had for a long time. The staff are also amazing, which is rare these days. I am sure we will be back again.

Definitely stay again but would bring my own bottled water!
Pros:

Lovely hotel and liked the room decor and furniture. Spa was fab and very clean. Friendly staff. Good breakfast with a view. Special mention for the bed and pillows which were very comfortable and the linen felt good quality.

Cons:

Our welcome jar of flapjacks had already been eaten or either not cleaned up because we basically got an empty jar of crumbs which was a little disappointing!
Probably a bit too much furniture in the room which made it a little cluttered.
There is something off with the water here as the bottle water in the room, drinking water in spa, and a glass of water from the bar all tasted really bad! We only live 5 minutes down the road so used to local water but not sure why it tasted so horrible?

Fantastic stay in an excellent location. We feel truly relaxed and will be back!
Pros:

Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and lounging areas, lovely spa

Cons:

Rooms were slightly tatty (water marks on wallpaper and paint chipping off skirting boards) but this didn’t take away from the wonderful stay!

Pros:

Everything spa was fantastic, food was spot on, staff were really happy and helpful. Room was lovely too.

Cons:

If I have to say something, it would’ve been nice to have a better view from our bedroom, but this wasnt that important

Works Christmas Party for 14 people
Pros:

What a charming & lovely place, very clean & comfy rooms. Our bedroom had a lovely touch, as along side the tea & coffee facilities were some of the chefs freshly baked homemade flap jacks to enjoy!
The spa was great & had everything you would need & all our team enjoyed the facilities throughout our stay.
The food was superb & we ate in both restaurants while staying here.
Calum makes a mean cocktail!
All the Hotel staff, from reception, bar staff to the restaurant were exceptional! Happy, friendly & helpful, a credit to the Hotel.
All 14 of our work team had a super stay here & we would definitely recommend!

Dartmoor escape
Pros:

A 2 night 'relax and recharge' stay which was on a DBB basis with full access to the spa and a 45 min treatment each. A welcome bottle of Prosecco in the room as part of the deal. The hotel stands on the edge of Dartmoor, just a 5 minute drive from the Haytor rocks and the open moor. Off of the main road it was very peaceful and quiet. The double room was reasonable sized but not large. The bathroom was large and well furnished with both bath and walk-in shower. Temperature was via a over door air-con unit which was a bit tricky to work (we asked for help) and took some time to reach the right temperature. Bathrobes to use when going to the spa were supplied. The bed was very comfy. Lunch (included with this break) and dinner were taken in the bar area (we had been told of this when we booked) . The dinner menu seemed a bit restricted (out of season) but the food was excellent and the staff helpful, friendly and attentive. Breakfast, which was served in the restaurant, with a wide range of cold items as well as freshly cooked hot selections.. There are 2-3 comfy lounges on the ground floor, with an open fire in at least one. The spa was excellent. It is open to non-residents but was not at all crowded when we stayed. There is a good sized pool, large jacuzzi pool with seating and lying jets and 2 fountains. The steam room and sauna were good with the option of a freezing drench shower between the two. We both had a 45 minute massage which was extremely good - very professional, relaxing and thorough. All the staff at the hotel were friendly , helpful and efficient. We both thoroughly enjoyed the visit and would go again. Its not cheap but is good value for money
