Truly paradise
Pros:

We really love the resort! You have to book beachfront villa which is located just right on the beach with unobstructed sea view. Staff is friendly and always try to do the best for you. Food is ok but can do better in term of dinner variety.
In general, we will come back.

Pros:

En fantastisk fin øy, men hotellet vare litt slitt og gammelt. Som alltid er Thailendere fantastisk hyggelig så ett bra opphold. Men hotellet skulle hatt 3 stjerner ikke 4

Changed the room type without compensation
Pros:

This was our fourth stay at Sevenseas. Given the past stays, we booked a Premier room, which was more expensive (higher floor) than the regular Deluxe room (lower floor). However, sometime after we made the booking, the hotel renamed all Deluxe rooms as Premier rooms and assigned us what was previously a lower floor room (even though we had paid more for higher floor Premier room). After a lot of requests, they moved us to a higher floor room on the third day of our six day stay. However, they refused to give a refund for the extra money we paid for the higher floor room for the first two days we were put in a lower floor room. Agoda could not help because we did not have a screenshot of the room types available at the time of the booking.

So beware, the hotel can randomly change the room types and put you in a lower class room than the one you booked without any compensation. We already made a booking at another resort for next year - will never stay at Sevenseas again given this terrible experience.

Pros:

Amazing island mediocre resort
Pros:

The island is beurifull and the staff freindly and helpfull. However the resort is very worn down and somewhat poorly managed. For instance it is a constant lack of beach towels. There is a lot of tourists on the island so do not expect to be alone.

Pros:

Our stay in Seven Seas was very pleasant; surrounded by palm trees and a picturesque beach. The rooms were nice with a traditional tropical ambience with mosquito nets and open bathroom. Having said that the place could do with some maintenance, especially the beach beds and the beach itself. They could run some environmental awareness programmes. both for the western guests as well as the locals. The beaches are littered with plastic - packets, bottles, cigarette butts etc. The Island should abolish or reduces to the minimum the use of 1 time plastic including water bottles and straws.

Pleasant stay though expensive
Pros:

Some may argue why I gave 5 stars and these are my reasons:

1) We were upgraded to second row bungalow which has a seaview. I highly regard hotels which are flexible, perhaps it's still low season so we were given a bungalow with better view
2) We had issue with shower not having hot water. But as soon as I reported it via WhatsApp the admin immediately sent an engineer to fix. I offered to have it fixed instead the following morning as it was already past 8pm then but they continued to fix. The response time is very fast.

My biggest issue at hotel is that tap water is salty, but I think it's the same at hotels at the island. Otherwise Kradan will be our regular go to beach destination as the beach is really beautiful. Also the island is full of mosquitoes so make sure you bring with you insect repellent. Hotel restaurant provides insect repellent when dining.

Such a disappointment
Pros:

Don't believe the hype! Koh Kradan is not as nice as they say and Sevenseas Resort is not a good hotel.

Let's start with Koh Kradan itself, it's mega expensive. Everything is at least 3x more expensive than anywhere else.

The supposedly amazing main beach is not even average by Thai standards. At high tide it is nice to look at but it's not overly clean and there is a lot of floating debris to swim through before clear water. It is ok to swim for about 3 hours a day, then the tide recedes too far and all you can see is a mucky looking sand bed.

There is a serious Mosquito problem on the island, so much so that they warned us when we arrived at the hotel and they give out mosquito spray in the restaurant area. These are big black mosquitos and it is not just a problem at night, in our hotel they were around during the day too, particularly around the pool area and the so called balconies of the rooms, because they are nesting under the poorly maintained decking.

Koh Kradan is simply not worth wasting your time or money on!

To get to Sevenseas resort you have to walk along the beach from the kiosk where you pay the 200 bhat fee to be in a national park. It's not a long walk but you do have to cross a small outlet where very dirty brown water flows from the interior to the sea. At high tide this involves walking across a 2m long log which is no more than 20cm wide (without any handrails) OR walking knee deep through the brown water.

The hotel itself is very tired, the decking around the pool and around the rooms is in very poor condition. The beach furniture is tatty, the sunbed mats have tears in them, lamps are hanging by a thread and nothing is very clean. They seem to spend a lot of time partially sweeping up leaves but absolutely no time cleaning things like the pool shower area.

There is only a limited menu. The food is quite good but it is extortionately priced like everywhere else on Koh Kradan, without exception. Breakfast is ok, not great.

Restaurant service is ok too but there only seem to be a couple of people that know what they are doing, I think the rest are, perhaps, trainees. Typically the food comes in any order they choose and when they are ready, forget appetisers as a starter, they could turn up at any point and if you get to eat a meal together you are lucky because one is usually finished by the time the other's food is brought to the table.

The rooms look great at first glance but that thought soon fades. Ours was 3rd line to the beach and we had a glimpse of the sea between the Bungalows in front. It doesn't take long to realise how ridiculous these rooms are. The main area of the room has a big bed, (2 small doubles together), fairly comfortable but low down. There is a mosquito net above the bed.

There is a smallish tv on a table in the corner, a mat on the floor under the bay window and a shelf along the back of the bed. No storage options anywhere.

There are big windows all round with blackout curtains but no net curtains so you are either in the dark or in a fishbowl where everybody can see in.

The bathroom is huge and outside, on an island plagued with Mosquitos!

In the bathroom you can find the fridge, next to the toilet. The kettle is here too but the only plug socket is right next to the sink.

There is also a pole to hang clothes.....outside...in the humidity and amongst the creepy crawlies.

The water from the sink tap comes out brown which is blatantly obvious when you fill the bowl and the water from the shower smells, so much so that you never feel clean.

The so called balcony is a small decked area outside the bay window, here we had 2 chairs, a table covered in paint splashes and badly worn decking with gaps between the boards, full of debris and a breeding ground for the resident mosquitos. There is no fencing so a 0.5m drop to the ground. Ridiculous if you have small children or maybe have had one too many drinks.

The 'patio doors' from the room to the decking are old, worn and have gaps all round giving full access to any small creatures. These doors don't close properly if you are outside so, again, the wildlife, particularly the mosquitos, have full access.

Staff here are nice but the place is poorly maintained and badly managed.

The fact that it is so expensive is one of the reasons for my harsh review. At this price it should be better, much, much better.

If you are thinking of visiting Koh Kradan, my recommendation is don't! There are much nicer islands, much better beaches, and much better value hotels, almost anywhere else in Thailand. Go to the lovely Koh Mook or Koh Ngai instead!

Sevenseas Koh Kradan experience
Pros:

Lovely setting but not a 4 star resort. Room was tired and old. Pillows badly stained and holes in mosquito net. Staff did change this for us but should be checked. Room was next to building works and smoke fire pit. Despite staying for longer periods paying full price it was disappointing. There are other modern villas on site apartments have no sound proofing if someone next door you hear everything. Ana and the staff were very friendly and helpful and thus was really good. We had booked for longer periods but Not much to do so a couple nights felt enough here. Other places nearby were cheaper and offered more information on trips. Mali resort more upmarket and nice evening meals. Dinner at sevenseas was nice enough more expensive than others places and not as good cocktails either. I think they are trying to improve things tho and it could be much better if so.

Idyllic location but tired rooms and facilities
Pros:

Lovely idyllic setting. Hotel very tired, in need of upgrade. Allocated old room next to villa being refurbished hence noisy. Burning foliage during day, hence smoky. Charge for snorkel and kayak uae when others were free. Only 1 kayak on site. Little info available on trips. Having said that, the staff very friendly and helpful.

Disappointed, not 4 star level in my view!
Pros:

While we had a nice stay at Sevenseas Resort, I have to say that I was a bit disappointed. This is in my view not in any way a 4 star resort - and not value for money when considering the price! I stayed 3 nights with 2 friends. The hotel is quite worn and could definitely need an update. The third bed in our the room was a mattress on the floor, and when we arrived there was no mosquito net covering this bed. This was however fixed on the second day after we alerted the reception. However, the interior of the room was simply not convenient in any way. It was mostly made up by a huge king size bed (very comfortable), but there was no place put any stuff or your suitcase. The outdoor bathroom was almost the same size as the room, and here was put the wardrobe, but really, in such a humid heat, we had no wish to put our clothing out in the humid bathroom. So really not a smart design of the rooms. We heard that the beachside villas are nicer and more updated. The area of the hotel is indeed nice, right on the beautiful beach, you have an option to rent snorkeling equipment or kayaks/SUPs, and with plenty of sunbeds to lounge on. The restaurant was so-so, food was ok, but nothing special I'm afraid, and we ended up having our meals in restaurants in other resorts on the island. Lastly, while the staff were all very friendly, smiling and accommodating, the service level was quite off, it's like there was missing some efficiency and management, as if each staff had his or her task, and they would never stray away from that. So for example, there could be dirty and empty dishes sitting on tables in the restaurant for extremely long, because the two waiters who were just standing looking at their phones clearly were not tasked with cleaning up tables, and the guy who did that was not there... And in the morning, there was one filter coffee machine, extremely slow, for all those guests... So overall, while a nice hotel and beautiful surroundings, I was disappointed and would not call this a 4 star hotel.

An OK Hotel on a beautiful island and awesome Beach that deserves to be better …
Pros:

An OK but average Hotel that could do better .
Everything about The Sevenseas is Ok but somehow it just seems to lack that something that could make it a really decent place to stay …. Staff were friendly and helpful.
We dined on the top of the beach for our two nights as the sun dropped and the food was fine , perfectly good and not stupidly overpriced.
Our room was again, OK but with some TLC could be better.
Breakfast, again adequate but ONE single filter coffee machine for all those guests just sums up that the management are missing that bit of attention to detail that could transform this resort into one that score’s really highly !

Beautiful place at the Beach, lack in service
Pros:

The Resort is beautiful placed at the Beach, we had a front row villa.
Nice room, good size and an outdoor bathroom, a r eally good Beach vibe.
The Facilities are fine, Sun beds at the Beach and a good pool.
The restaurant prices are more expensive than the other restaurants and they don’t deliver the same quality.

The reason for My 3 star review is the lazy and lack of service from the staff.
You get the feeling of people that makes an effort to do a minium of effort to get through the day.
Cleaning is at a minimum, breakfast buffet is dirty and they don’t full up unless you tell them. Sumpede are not serviced and we didn’t get new small Towers through our 5 day stay.

It’s a 4 star hotel and you should expect more than they deliver.
In generel it’s a good choice, but a better management could change a lot with a frw changes.

A nice place on a lovely island
Pros:

A bit rundown but clean and the staff is friendly. Had a bungalow with partial seaview. The picture is the reflection at our screendoors.
Good food in the restaurant. Breakfast is adequate.
Do not leave anything edible in the bathroom, its an open bathroom. Had a piece of chocolate inside a pocket in my suitcase and someone/something had eaten through the pocket and eaten the chocolate 🤪

Tropical paradise
Pros:

Our family of four spent a week here over New Year 2024 and had the most wonderful time. Koh Kradan is a quite small island on the Andaman coast, about 30-45 mins from the mainland depending on type of boat (nearest big town is Trang which is approx an hour or so from the piers). We were looking for a quiet island with not too many people, beautiful beaches and snorkeling. On arrival it seemed quite busy and indeed there were a few more resorts on the island than we had expected but once we were settled in it was absolutely idyllic and we spent most of our time on very quiet areas of the island. The resorts are spread out along the main beach with Sevenseas being in the middle. We had adjoining double rooms on the first floor of a group of 4 rooms, both with their own semi-outdoor bathroom. The rooms were spacious and beds were enormous - way bigger than king size, and very comfortable. Our rooms were at the back of the resort next to the jungle but still only a few metres from the restaurant area and beach. The airco worked well and there was a big fan and mosquito net over the bed (which we didn’t use). Also a kettle for coffee/tea and a large safe though the one in our room didn’t work. The boys had a smaller safe with a key which we used although we never felt that we needed to secure anything. Breakfast was included with a chef preparing eggs, pancakes and waffles as well as a fairly small buffet of English/US and Thai food. There was only one coffee machine which was slow and prone to breakdown which could have been better, but we were never in a rush so was no big deal. Lunches /dinners were available anytime until 2000 and although not the cheapest on the island were excellent with Thai and Western options. Due to the (Thai) food being so good we only went elsewhere a couple of nights. We loved the staff who were so friendly and helpful, always smiling and willing. All could speak at least a little English. Jeeda in particular really went the extra mile to make sure that we were happy and enjoying ourselves. As we were there on New Years Eve we were invited with all other guests to the gala dinner which included extensive and delicious Thai buffet and some ceremonial dances. During the days we did a lot of snorkeling, discovered different parts of the island, rented a kayak from the hotel, and the boys did a lot of fishing. The beaches and sea were stunningly beautiful and the snorkeling on the reef was superb. Lots of coral and an enormous variety and number of fish. The beaches on the resort side of the island are pristine, but on the other (quieter “sea/sunset” side) there is a lot of junk washed up (mainly plastic bottles and flip flops). Evenings were very quiet - apart from NYE everything was pretty much closed up by 2100 which suited us fine. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely go back.
