Very old style hotel. Bathroom looks like falling apart, not well maintained.
I enjoyed my stay. The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great too.
Service was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful and did everything with a smile.
There are bars very close, some rooms are noisy until midnight, but otherwise a lovely place
Heeft zijn beste tijd gehad, dringend aan renovatie toe. Ontbijt goed, service redelijk. Pluspunt, goedkoop. Makkelijk parkeren, veel restaurants nabij.
I stayed here for 5 nights in October and chose the hotel primarily for the location. It is situated only minutes from the harbour and has many bars and restaurants very close by. There is also a very convenient shop only a minute away.
Although my room rate included breakfast, I didn't eat there as I met up with family each day at the harbour for brunch.
The rooms are exactly what I would expect for these prices. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and had sufficient storage space. I had a room with a small balcony overlooking the front of the hotel.
There are a couple of karaoke bars next to the hotel which close at midnight - not a problem for me but if you want a peaceful evening it's probably not the place for you.
I didn't use the pool but I found some nice outdoor space to relax and read in the late afternoon sun.
The staff that I had contact with were very helpful and friendly. I enquired about car rental and they were very efficient in organising this for me.
As per a previous post, one criticism is that the bathroom could do with a bit of modernising.
Overall - very good location and good value for money. I would certainly consider it again when next time I visit Pafos - hopefully very soon !
Mixed review for this hotel.
Positives - very helpful and kind staff. Very clean, the cleaners work very hard. Location is perfect. Car parking.
Negatives - Breakfast - Cyprus has an abundance of cheap fresh fruit yet every day the only fresh fruit was melon. Low quality products were used for the hot selection, and the cold selection was very poor. Do not stay in room 138 as it has an adjoining door with gaps all the way round - you get woken up by your neighbours every night. Please clean the pigeon poo around the pool by the lemon tree.
Loved this hotel.Breakfast was such a good choice of food.Rooms were spacious, and cleaned daily.Pool doesnt open till 10am ,which l think is better as l think it stopped people putting towels on sunbeds.Only 1 complaint ,around the pool is a lovely lemon tree unfortunately the pigeons sit in there and make quite a mess with poop ,which it seems was never cleaned or removed. It would be so much nicer if this little problem could be taken care of.
Just back from a lovely week at the Nereus. It’s in a great location just walking distance from the harbour, bar street and plenty of restaurants etc so perfect for everyone depending on what you’re looking for. Also quick taxi ride to the Old Town, Tomb of the Kings Avenue and Kings Avenue Mall. We used the Bolt app on our phones which we found was a lot easier.
Rooms are lovely and fresh. They were always cleaned to a high standard and always smelling amazing! The beds were so comfortable and there was plenty of storage space for the 2 of us. Towels were great, as was the air conditioning and the shower pressure.
Everyone from reception and bar to cleaning staff were all so friendly and a special mention to Areti at the bar who makes the best strawberry daiquiris in Paphos. Be sure to try one (or a few) during your stay!! She was always so lovely and happy to chat with us and is a massive credit to the hotel.
Pool area was nice and not cramped. There is a lifeguard who provides towels too. The loungers are a bit worn and some of them also had bird poo and feathers from the pigeons at the building beside us which wasn’t ideal. Apart from that, the reception, bar and outside seating area was spotless. It had lots of character throughout!
Thanks for a great week x
Very basic. Bad signage so hard to find. Sharing the room with ants everywhere. Hard beds not comfy
Had a really good week here with my wife .the hotel is very welcoming with great staff.the room was cleaned daily .the breakfast was more than adequate. Only booked b&b.however the location of hotel is spot on .so many bars and restaurants very near by .10 min walk to the harbour .would definitely recommend and return again. Thanks so much staff for making stay so good
Home away from home indeed, I spent 3 lovely nights here as a solo female traveller on a work trip. The team have a lovely balance of welcoming like I was an old friend coming back without being over the top.
The staff received my email requesting a refrigerator for medical purposes and it was ready and waiting in my room no questions asked. they also went above and beyond to help me throughout my stay and nothing was ever any trouble.
The Bar, Breakfast, cleaning & reception staff all were very friendly and helpful, it appears most of the team have worked there many years and they all seem happy in their roles which shows in the atmosphere.
Breakfast is fresh and healthy, with gluten free options like bacon, beans, eggs and courgette . No gluten free bread in stock however perhaps it could be ordered, I am happy without.
During my stay the pool was peaceful and tidy and the rooms were also clean and very comfortable with easy to use aircon. And overall I loved the bright decor with loads of character.
Thank you Nereus, I hope I have the pleasure to visit again in the future.
Photographer Sasha,
Aka. The freezer lady 😅
We had a lovely one week stay here. It’s close to lots of bars and restaurants and short walk to harbour and beaches. All staff have been super helpful and friendly, arranging taxis, local knowledge. Good selection for breakfast. Looking forward to visiting Cyprus again!
The room was very small for 2 people and beds were so uncomfortable that we had to lie on the duvet in order to get some sleep. The next day they changed the mattresses for more comfy ones but they were both filthy as they were dragged from the basement. For the last night the air con barely worked and as you can imagine, it was near impossible to sleep with the near 40 degree heat you get in July. Stayed for 3 nights and paid extra for a fridge. The fridge arrived, old with a funny smell and very noisy but we were still happy we could get one even though it cost 5 euros a day. Told the reception staff all about our problems as they were happening but we were still expected to pay 15 euros for the fridge on checkout with no consideration for what we suffered. We paid to have a good sleep for 3 nights and that’s exactly what we didn’t get.
The only saving graces of this hotel was the staff were great, the pool was ok and the location is convenient. Other than that, stay away.
Nice small hotel with a great location in Paphos. The coastal line is about a 10 minute walk, just far away to not be bother by noise but restaurants and a small supermarket closeby.
Room was a little small but had what you expect from a 3 star hotel. Bathroom needs an update though.
Breakfast was okay, selection of hot and cold items.
Outdoor terrace was really nice, didn’t use the pool but looked nice as well.
The hotel has a few parking spots, we never had an issue and there was always an available space. In high season could be more difficult though.
we cannot praise the Nereus enough. The room was spotless, the biggest bed EVER.The cleaning staff are tremendous. When they said it feels like Home it Does!Never will you get a warmer welcome and staff are so helpful.Which was great as i suffer from severe axienty in strange places. We Have to give a massive thank you to two wonderful people Chrystalla the most welcoming helpful receptionist we have ever had the pleasure to meet nothing is too much trouble for her and she is a absolute Gem.Areti the most happiest, smiley nicest and best bartender in cyprus worth her weight in gold.We are already looking to book for next year after we were made so relax as we were getting married and plan on having our first Anniversary back at the place that made us so welcome and at home ....See you next year thank you wonderful memories
Hello, I would like to thank the hotel staff who took the trouble to host us and solve any problem for us. The location is excellent, the hotel is clean, the breakfast is delicious, I would like to mention the receptionist named Natalie, who helped us with warmth and kindness. We would highly recommend.
I was staying with my partner in mid-July 2024 and even though the temperature outside was pretty high (~35 C), the air conditioning hardly helped cope with it. Plus, it is connected to the windows, so you have to keep the window locked if you want the AC to work. But the catch is — the window randomly unloks, so the AC switches off. The room was pretty small, but passable. The bathtub looked old and overhauled. Oh and the pool lifeguard randomly approaches you and opens a conversation with how he thinks all foreigners who come to Europe are invaders...
From the advantages: Central location, nice breakfast, a pool, flexible check-in.
We Liked everything. clean. and great location. maybe needed a bigger car park..
The room was gorgeous and was the biggest bed I have ever seen and the pillows were so comfy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The air con worked so well and kept us cool the whole time we were in our room even despite the extreme temperatures. The pool was also lovely and was manned by a lifeguard the whole time who was also very friendly and funny. The breakfast that was included was also very tasty.
