De kamers, de rust en het zicht.

Cons:

De ligstoelen aan het zwemvad waren vuil en vol vlekken. De laatste dag waren wij om 07u30 aan het wachten voor het ontbijt maar een dame zei dat het pas om 08u00 was. Wij zijn dan maar vertrokken daar wij een vlucht moesten halen. Spijtig daar wij voor het ontbijt betaald hadden dat wij niet gekregen hebben.

Overall, a disappointing stay
Pros:

The staff are lovely.
The gardens are beautiful.
But this establishment has a major recurring failing that can mess up your stay, and it also fails in the detail, where it should not

Cons:

.MAJOR FAILING 

For us, it consistently failed to deliver the room to us ready - for- use, until very late in the afternoon . It wasted two afternoons of our stay, with us not being able to use the room!  This is not a cheap hotel, and it's unacceptable.


Day 1 -We were told not to arrive at 1pm, but that the room would be available by 2pm. We arrived at 2:10, only to be told to wait 10 minutes. Okay - no big deal. We'll wait in the entrance. After nagging and being told "10 minutes" many times, we finally got the room after 4pm. Afternoon wasted. 


Day 2. Out at 9am. Left sign on for to make up the room. Room finally ready after 4pm. ANOTHER afternoon that we could have relaxed in the room, wasted!!! 
How is this acceptable???  'Sorry' doesn't cut it!  NOT good enough. You introduced stress and inconvenience into my (what should have been 'relaxing') weekend. And by accepting payment for room-access that you did not give without any attempt to 'make good'. To me this is disrespectful.


DETAILS 

Black-stained toilet bowl. It's ugly. It's a 5 Star hotel. Unacceptable.


No fly-screen, only for our room's outside door. All others have it. Why?


ITS A CRECHE!

This hotel apparently is very popular amongst families with infants/ toddlers. That's all great if you know what to expect. Breakfasts are like stepping into a creche. It's 'lively', and if you were hoping for a quiet brekky, don't! Not gonna happen.


All in all, a disappointing stay.

Comfy bed and very clean room.

Cons:

The staff weren’t very friendly, breakfast was overpriced and not great. They got my breakfast order wrong and when I asked for water they only brought over the bottle and no cups and told us to go get the cups ourself yet other tables were given glasses. Very overpriced. Gf options were poor.

Very pleasant, quiet, interesting area.
Pros:

Very spacious and comfortable room. Breakfast was great - plenty of choices. The restaurant was expensive for dinner and had limited options for vegetarians. The pool area was excellent. Garden and water features were very photogenic.

Cons:

Cheaper dinner menu, with more choices for vegetarians. Carrying luggage upstairs.

Lovely hotel in a nice region for biking or visiting wineries.
Pros:

Great room and location. Wonderful dinner with delightful staff. Super comfortable bed.

Cons:

Slippery green pool was very dangerous. All tile covered in algae.
Breakfast was very good but hostess did not share that a buffet was available.

Fabulous hotel with friendly staff and a lovely relaxed vibe.
Pros:

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location, we chose a sunrise room on the rear of the property and where glad we did as the noise from the trucks leaving the nearby winery was something we didn’t hear unlike guests we spoke to on the sunset road side.

Cons:

There was nothing that we disliked.
