A couper le souffle !
Pros:

Fabuleuse adresse !

Stunning luxury hotel in centre beautiful village Gordes
Pros:

Wonderful stay here, cannot recommend it highly enough, one of my favourite hotels ever. Worth the cost!
Rooms on village side a bit dark so recommend valley side with view. Rooms very fully equipped- luxury toiletries, we were given pyjamas, and a lovely Federa hat. Mini bar is included with ready mixed cocktails, sift drinks and lots of luxury snacks.
Views are extraordinary from pool and bar and restaurants.
Pool was stunning, sift drinks included here too.
All staff were outstanding I really could not single out one as all went above and beyond. Concierge excellent.
Easy walk into village for restaurants and Tuesday market, and down into the gorge valley.
Great location for exploring area and wine areas too.
Breakfast generous spread till 11am.
Whats not to love…

Top notch French Hospitality
Pros:

This stunning hotel, which is spread beautifully across the Gordes hillside, oozes class and sophistication. It provides easy access to the busy sights and restaurants of Gordes yet is a haven of calm beauty inside. Rooms are very comfortable and there is a generous complimentary minibar refilled daily. The restaurants, bar, fitness room, gardens and outdoor swimming pool give a lovely view of the valley and hills of Luberon, as do many of the rooms. They park your car in a cool underground place free of charge but also lendout e-bikes and even a deux cheveau. Staff are incredible, friendly and helpful. Particular mention fir Sophie on reception, bell man Robin and Jose the concierge. You get what you pay for, I strongly recommend a stay.

Magical Family Luxury Experience!
Pros:

My family and I stayed at this property after spending a fantastic 3 days at a sister hotel in Saint-Tropez. Pulling into Gordes was a magical site - largely in part due to the gorgeous view of the hotel which is carved into the hillside with a large castle flanked behind it. Turns out the view was just the beginning - the hotel's interior and staff were straight from a dream: beautifully designed, impeccably mannered and beyond gracious.

Much like our stay in Saint-Tropez, we found the property to be family friendly. The kid's club was a hit with our children (3 and 6) and the teen "garage" full of arcade games, treats and more was a great hang out spot while transitioning from pool to dinner.

We enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning and had lovely meals at a few of the hotel's restaurants (Clover and LeTigre). Other dinners arranged off-property by the hotel's concierge were delicious and special. I'd encourage guests to take advantage of their knowledge of the area. We used them for a few excursions as well as family photos and were very happy with all their recommendations.

Another recent guest made a good point in their review about this level of hotel. If you can, go all out. You won't be disappointed with a bigger room or a valley view. It is truly a special place!

A once in a lifetime kind of stay (but hopefully more).
Pros:

The service and generosity of the hotel were exceptional — multiple staff knew my name and room number off by heart and they were always extremely courteous and helpful. We were gifted many items to use and keep, including pyjamas, eye masks, a hat, and tote bag, even though we were only staying for one night. The toiletries were extremely high quality and the minibar was completely free and refillable. We were gifted a gorgeous fan and a beautiful embossed card for turndown service (as a designer, I can see how much time, care, and resources they've put into all these items), and when we departed, we received a customised luggage tag each, water, laduree mararons, stickers, and even wet wipes for the trip home.

I had told the hotel we were celebrating my mum's birthday, and they had prepared a small cake for her. We booked dinner at the main restaurant, La Table de la Bastide, and even though we didn't notify them about the birthday, they knew and prepared a candle on a dessert for her. We've stayed at many luxury hotels before, but nowhere else have we been able to experience this kind of attention to detail. The food we had at La Table was fantastic. The staff do a wonderful job of separating children from the adult crowd (including having multiple pools for this reason). The main pool is beautiful, the towels powder-soft and cushiony. There was a photographer on site who took photos of guests.

I could not recommend Airelles La Bastide, and the other hotels under the Airelles brand, more.

Cons:

Wifi was a bit patchy at times and wasps at dinner and breakfast are an issue (they love ham), although staff will put out smoke to deter the wasps. I think the hot and cold food room at breakfast looks a bit tired but everywhere else is exceptionally designed.

Pros:

Stunning property and pool and hotel staff were so fantastic! The restaurant staff were a bit inattentive as we had to get up and ask for things versus table service.

Cons:

Despite the incredible amenities we found it still felt over priced at near $3K a night.

One of the most gorgeous places in the world
Pros:

Airelles Gordes, La Bastide is a stunningly gorgeous hotel perched perfectly on a hill, overlooking a valley in Provence.

Hotel: The hotel is a maze of connected buildings. It’s very vertical, which it has to be given the hillside setup. Walls are thick stone. Interiors are richly decorated in a sort of old French opulent-maximalist style. Beauty is constant everywhere.

Rooms: We had a two-bedroom, two-bath suite with an amazing terrace facing the valley. It was spectacular. It was hard to believe, really. Our sons had a small room facing the street. The small room was very nice, but I strongly recommend that you reserve a room facing the valley. Trust me: It’s worth it. Don’t skimp at this price point. Just go all in.

Food: Breakfast is in the main restaurant and everyone sits on the terrace outside. The breakfast spread is great. They have a buffet of everything and also a small a la carte menu. We weren’t able to eat outside at dinner at this same restaurant because of the wind, which seems to be a regular issue in the evenings in the region. Sitting inside is nice enough, though. The dinner menu is decidedly French. The hotel has at least one more restaurant on the grounds — also French — and Airelles operates an Italian restaurant in Gordes. There are other restaurant options in Gordes as well. Make reservations. We worked with the concierge before we arrived.

Service: This hotel is the kind of place where they can and will do anything for you. We had vans take us around the area. We shipped ceramics. We ordered all manner of food and beverages to the room and it all came just lighting quick. Tipping goes a long way, but service is amazing no matter what. The general manager is onsite and interacts with guests.

Locale: You can get here on a fast train from Paris in under three hours (and then a short hotel van from Avignon). Marseilles is the closest major airport. Provence is lovely. Several villages and towns and easily accessible. Roussillon is pretty but very busy. Lacoste is artsy. Our favorite was Saignon; the square was just perfect and there were almost zero tourists. St. Remy was a bit of a letdown but that may have been based on expectations. La Nerth, a winery, was amazing and well worth a visit. The abbey just down the road from the hotel is a must-see.

Activities: We played croquet. We admired the swimming pool and could not believe how dreamy and beautiful it was. We stood on our terrace in awe. We did a kayaking trip from Cassis. We did a private picnic where we arrived in a vintage Citroen 2CV and the Airelles staff had set out champagne and delicious hors d'oeuvres. It was windy but amazing. Highly recommend!

Overall: Airelles Gordes is as close to perfect as you going to get for a luxury hotel anywhere in the world. The reviewers here who give less than five stars are just ridiculous. Is it expensive? Yes! Can you quibble? Sure: The hot water was slightly less than ideal during one shower and the light in a closet wouldn’t turn off. But, ultimately, this place is just fabulous. If you are lucky enough to be able to stay here, you should definitely take the opportunity as soon as possible.
