Overton Hotel and Conference Center

Every staff member I encountered greeted and acknowledged me. Someone from the HR team saw me looking into business center and asked if I needed help. I was looking to make 20 copies for our meeting and she took my original and made copies. ABOVE AND BEYOND. The building is nice but the people made the experience. Kudos to everyone.

Ordered the salmon with Brussel sprouts. Food was amazing. Bartender/waitress Claire was outstanding, hard working and did a superb job taking care of myself and everyone else in the restaurant.

She had great suggestions from the menu, and made us our own , unique margarita- that was fabulous! Ask for the Texas Blood-Orange Margarita!!!

Overton Hotel has been bought out. This is a very different hotel than the cute little hotel that was run by the students. You used to walk in and in the lobby, you would find fresh flowers and fruit infused water and neither of those are there now. At this point, there's no longer live music on Friday night. There was no coffee station set up in the morning. We came back to our rooms. The first night in our room was not cleaned. Apparently, if you want your room cleaned, you have to request it. They wouldn't even bring us a bottle of water for a coffee maker. We asked for a turn down service and that never happened. We were very disappointed. I sure hope they get their act together by the time football season rolled round. I also found extra charges on our bill and I paid for our room in full three months ago, and they still charged me upon checkout today. Lots of issues that they need to work out and definitely not as inviting as it used to be.

Wonderful atmosphere and service
Guests can be little judged, stare at us like we are a zoo, (especially if you're a Person of Color) but hotel experience was wonderful

The Overton Hospitality staff was fantastic! Each team member stepped in when we had issues and were willing to go above and beyond to make our conference a success. Huge shoutout to Eli who was personable, friendly, and overall a great staff member.

We went for conference and the entire team went above and beyond to accommodate all our request. They greeted us with a smile and truely made the conference special. We would like to recognize Eli and Stephanie C. They always checked in and ensure our members had a great experience.

This was my first time in Lubbock and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it is a very nice town. The hotel is nice but it does seem like it needs some remodeling. The lobby and conference area are very nice. However, the rooms are a little run down. The bathroom had stained toilets & shower. The room smelled old & the bed wasn’t very comfortable and the sheets smelled like smoke (dont know why because the hotel IS non-smoking). Perhaps it’s an old dryer. The conference food was just okay. The first night, we had brisket/shredded beef tacos but they did not taste like anything. The elote bowl was really good. The other days was buffet and overall tasted okay but on Friday, they served meat, which was not so great given the Lent season.
The staff have all been really great, the caterers were extremely nice, especially Kloey and the nice gentleman with glasses

Great location, nice staff, good food!

A gem of a hotel in the Southwest! We loved the cow-town oil-boom decor, thoughtful young staff, brilliant bartenders. The restaurant is surprisingly good the braised short rib is like candy and Marco the waiter impeccable. We can’t wait to go back. Daniel from Santa Fe.

Had a great experience checking in to the hotel. Valerie was very nice and helpful and took care of our group. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are nice.

Our waitress Kylin was amazing the most happiest waitress I ever had! The breakfast was so fresh and amazing!

Ky was an amazing server and made the whole experience way better. They were super friendly right from the start, kept checking in without being overbearing, and made sure everything came out exactly how we asked. Our drinks were always refilled on time and the food came out fast and hot.

What really stood out was their attitude — you can tell Ky actually cares about customers and takes pride in doing a good job. Even when it got busy, they stayed calm, positive, and attentive.

I’d definitely ask for Ky again and would recommend them to anyone coming in. Great service like that makes a big difference.
