Holiday Inn Express & Suites Houston West - Katy by IHG

The hotel was underwhelming honestly. The staff were friendly. But 1st there was a misunderstanding with the hotel.com reservation. I reserved a 2 queen. They gave me a 1 King. They didn’t have 2 queen room they said.
The 1st room had strong humidity odor. They easily changed me to another room. It was the room next door that smelled way less.
The room and bathroom were clean.
I will not go back to that hotel.

Needs some updating. Hot water was almost non -existent

While I was in the room, I seen two huge water bugs. The shower needed a bit more pressure, and the water never really heated up fully.

Breakfast eggs were mushy like slime. I thought maybe they were too hot and needed to cool down and and I waited 30 min and they were watery. My room had no hot water and I called front desk at night and was told maintenance would come look at my shower and no by ever came. My husband and I showered with cold water. My baby was washed by a sponge becatse no way I’d bathe him in cold water. Then the sink handle in bathroom and a dark brown stain underneath like if it was poop. Watch out for the feathered pillows they stick out and poke you sharp hurts a lot.

Good location, clean, friendly people, the breakfast man was super friendly, the pool wasn't very clean but it's okay

We stayed 2 days ,staff was great and friendly. Room was clean. Area was close to restaurants, shopping and very convenient. Would stay again if im in the area.

The bed was really comfortable however, that breakfast should be free. It was not good at all. Only one elevator worked. It was a mildew like smell through the whole hotel

Arrived with my family September 13 at midnight for a weekend vacation. Asked the gentleman at the front desk if there was 2 rooms available and was told they were booked which was not true at all. I then let him know that I had reservation already and checked in. Soon as we open the door to our room we are greeted by a huge cockroach on the floor. We then requested a refund and the same gentleman asked if we wanted a different room.. after saying they were “fully booked”. Fast forward to today I’ve yet to receive a refund or any email stating such.

Overall this place was great and well worth the price. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Room and bathroom was spacious enough and rather clean. NOT TO MENTION that the location was good. Walking distance to Cheddars and Olive Garden and another Ribs place that I did not get a chance to visit. I would definitely stay there again.

Our room was soooooo noisy…..all night. Slamming doors, people talking loud in the middle of the night.
The hot water was barely luke warm…miserable shower experience!

I was given the room right next to the pantry/kitchen and at 5am jolted awake by the sound of clanging pans and laughing. This lasted for a while.
