Well located, nice room
We had a room with no view and minimal natural light.
The room was very clean and quiet. The location right across from the Beach was excellent.
We had to carry our luggage up a flight of stairs, as it was not accessible otherwise. The Bath Towels were rather hard and there was no hooks or such to keep a few things in the bathroom.
It was somewhere to rest overnight
When we arrived at the hotel, we were totally ignored by one receptionist ( she was taking a phone call, but made no indication or acknowledgement that she had even seen us) then the second receptionist Faye arrived back to the desk to try to” help us and secure our room” She had a haughty and unfortunate attitude and instructed my husband to let her finish what she was saying . Our room on the ground floor ( which was an economy room) had the sliding window open when we entered, and there were Louvre grills presumably for security) but which excluding our view, but unfortunately allowed the diesel exhaust fumes from a car that was outside into the room. There was no air conditioning in the room either. This was one of the most expensive properties that we stayed at, and also was one of the poorest for service and value for money
Dark small back room with no outlook.
Zimmer mit Meerblick. Restaurants gut zu Fuß erreichbar.
Room was spotless with high quality fittings and fixtures
Staff were fantastic and the view was wonderful
Only thing I didn't like was I wished I had booked for longer, cannot fault this place
right in town
advertised 2 bedrooms but was 1 bedroom with other beds in lounge
needed to go through lounge to get to bathroom- not ideal
The location overlooking the beach is wonderful.
We stayed here for one night and found it to be clean, basic and perfectly suitable for a short stay. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, which made everything easy.
Our room was quite small and faced directly onto the street. Because of this it felt a little closed in, especially as there were bar style structures across the outside of the windows. It was fine for one night, but it did make the room feel slightly less open than we had expected.
We asked if it was possible to upgrade to a different room, but unfortunately the hotel was fully booked. That was completely understandable.
If we returned, I would probably book one of the better rooms facing the beach, as the location right by the water is lovely and those rooms looked like they would make the most of it. Overall it worked well for a short stop and the staff were very pleasant.
The lack of a proper window
Convenient location
Not what was expected from imagines when I booked. Room was small, like a prison cell on the first floor street level with slatted boards acting as a window cover. People walking on side walk could see into room. No A/C do only ventilation was to open the window. Even had someone reach between the slats covering the window and tried to reach into the window. The room was smaller that small staterooms on a cruise ship. The room had virtually no amenities, We have stayed in dozens of places in NZ over the course of 5 months and this was the pit. We were in the Driftwood wing avoid these listings, or choose another property. Many tour bus groups stay here also, I hope they had decent rooms. The attached picture is from the window in our room.
Great location in Hokitika & good value for money.
Bin was not very clean.
Super large room with fabulous view of the beach
Great location, nice, comfortable room
The sounds proof in the walls wasn’t that great easy to hear other guests.
Location
Way over priced. Our room was small and very basic. Outdoor court yard very small only room for 2 chairs, people walking past all the time could see right into our room. Could not have dinner in the hotel as steps only no access for people with walkers etc. Not worth half the price.
