I've stayed in some miserable hotels...and this was not one of them!
Pros:

A wonderful stay in a beautiful hotel in a stunning location. It's more than just a hotel, it's a whole town, but with a personal feel. The staff are so friendly and the facilities are great.

Cons:

It is expensive, but you really get what you pay for!

Generally good
Pros:

It was perfect for a family with young children. There are so many activities for everyone you could literally stay at the resort your entire holiday. The spa facilities were particularly great!

Cons:

Food options. All the restaurants are so expensive, and you feel like they hike up all the prices because there’s no options nearby. The breakfast was great but outside of this it was hard to find options for my young toddler

Perfect family stay with exceptional service
Pros:

We had a wonderful stay at Sun Gardens Dubrovnik, especially as a family. Even though we visited during peak summer season in July 2026, the hotel never felt overcrowded, which I think is largely thanks to the very spacious and well-designed grounds and layout of the hotel.

There really was something for everyone. Families can enjoy activities such as the kids’ club and mini disco, but everything was very well balanced and never felt too loud or overwhelming. We particularly appreciated the small touches, like the supervised drawing corner during breakfast. There were also plenty of options for nice activities, from table tennis and boules to the ones offered at the activity centre or simply relaxing in the peaceful spa area.

The staff throughout the hotel were exceptionally professional, friendly and helpful. They were efficient, knew what they were doing and responded quickly to any requests — something that unfortunately doesn't always seem to be a given anymore in hospitality. The cleanliness throughout the resort was equally impressive. Everything was exceptionally well maintained, including the public areas (e.g. the toilets around the pool and restaurant areas).

As a family, we particularly recommend the apartments, which have a very well-equipped kitchen and a nice terrass. If you have a car, it’s also worth doing your grocery shopping at a supermarket outside the hotel, rather than relying on the more expensive hotel shop.

Breakfast was delicious and reasonably priced, and we really enjoyed it every morning. We also tried the themed evening dinners and, although they come at an additional cost, found them well worth it.

Overall, a fantastic family-friendly resort that manages to offer plenty of activities while still providing enough space and peace to truly relax. We would happily come back!

Perfect combination of relaxing and activity.
Pros:

The service was outstanding throughout, professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The rooms are exceptionally spacious, complemented by generous balconies, while the entire resort is beautifully designed and impeccably maintained.

The location is equally impressive, offering a peaceful and refined setting while remaining within easy reach of Dubrovnik’s historic Old Town.

A truly first-class experience from beginning to end. Highly recommended.

A wonderful and memorable family stay with exceptional service, beautiful sea views and an outstanding Club Lounge break
Pros:

The service was exceptionally warm, attentive and thoughtful. The hotel enjoys a wonderful location with a truly outstanding sea view. We were especially impressed by the excellent breakfast in the Club Lounge, which was one of the highlights of our stay.

Cons:

Some of the hotel’s facilities and room furnishings feel a little dated and could benefit from refurbishment. We also feel that the overall quality of the resort’s restaurants could be improved.
