Visited this hotel first for a group meal (Backroads bike/hike tour) and a trip to the famous Cave Bar, then again to spend our final night in Dubrovnik.
Hotel came recommended by both Backroads and by AI (!). TL/DR, a wonderful experience with some things that travelers might want to note -- but this is well known as one of the better luxury hotels near Dubrovnik, and it has earned that reputation. We would definitely be back.
Boutique style hotel with friendly service and nicely appointed, if somewhat small rooms.
My online reservation noted that we were celebrating an anniversary, and we were delighted and pleasantly surprised to be greeted with congratulations and to have a small gift in the room.
It is a taxi or uber ride to the "old town" of Dubrovnik which is both a blessing and a curse: the blessing because one avoided the crowds, the curse in that it requires transportation (which is typically not very expensive and generally pretty prompt).
The hotel is a little unusual in that you enter at the top floor and then descend to the guest rooms and pool and restaurants -- the nature of the topography of this fascinating part of the world. The hotel is two buildings connected by bridges (perhaps two different hotels at one point?) so getting around takes a little getting used to.
Our small porch overlooked the water -- and regrettably a hotel roof -- but I suppose the latter is a risk anywhere. The view was, nonetheless, gorgeous.
Beds were a little on the soft side for me, but that is a matter of personal preference. Our King room was actually two twin beds pushed together -- not a big issue, but worthy of mention.
Notably, our request for a feather free room (allergies) WAS accommodated -- and it has been our experience that hotels often overlook that request.
The meal at restaurant More was quite nice, and the included breakfast on our final morning was a pretty standard Croatian buffet including a variety of breads, meats, cheeses, fruit, eggs, bacon, sausages...as well as the ability to order from the small à la carte menu.
The Cave Bar is worth a visit -- unique space that is, understandably, a tourist attraction. I must note here, though, that we ended up stuck in the elevator from the base of the cave back up to the hotel lobby -- an event that I hope doesn't happen too often!
Final note -- the hotel arranged a wonderful and reasonably priced car to the Dubrovnik airport for us on our final morning.
We stayed in two different hotels during our stays in Dubrovnik, and this was by far the better one and the one to which we would absolutely return if our travels brought us back.
Amazing hotel with lovely facilities, great breakfast, lovely cave bar , that you can jump into the ocean from during the day . Could be great if the staff were nice to their guests .
The staff, seriously can’t anyone crack a smile , reception are rude , no one is happy . Pay your staff more , even if they have to fake smiles.
Some stupidity with resturant reservations, making a reservation was difficult, lack of responses by the hotel when messaged beforehand , when we arrived we were able to make a reservation but only with much insistence because we were told they were full , we arrived to near empty Resturant, which was near empty all night , additionally we were told we could not come at 7.30 but had to come at 7 due to reservation availability, laughable that there was hardly anyone in the restaurant for the duration of the night.
There are no snacks in the mini bar , nor any real choices for room service late at night , I know it’s a first world problem but it is a 5 star hotel ?
Please stop charging 15 euros for each room service , call people are trying to give you money and you charge them more on top , why?
Our travel group stayed here last week. There are at least 3 large jack hammering machines working directly across the street from the hotel. If you open your porch door or windows or go outside you get to listen to the incessant pounding. The Cave Bar is a unique setting however the service is far less than customer friendly. You can not split the bill. They will NOT make change for you. They will not allow you to sign your bill to your room unless you sign the entire amount even if you the entire bill is not your responsibility. They seem to be only able to say NO. They will not present you a bill until you answer whether you will pay in cash or card. I guess youre supposed to pull the amount owed out of the air to make that decision. Ive not had such a frustrating experience with table service as I've had at this bar/restaurant. Note the hotel is anywhere from 45-60 min drive to the Old Town area as the traffic is very heavy. The roads are narrow and very congested. You can take a public bus or taxi to get the Old Town as it's an hour walk to get there from this hotel. The day we were checking out, house keeping opened our door twice starting at 7 am as the front desk did not provide accurate information as to our departure from the room. Good thing I had just finished dressing when the door opened. 302 is right in front of the elevator where many people speak loudly so ask for a room away from the elevator if you want to sleep without disturbance.
We had a great experience at the hotel More.Amazing location. Sea views. Along the promenade. Close to shopping and dining. Beautiful hotel and grounds. Cave bar very cool. I used the gym and it was nice as well. The pools and the nearby sea provided ample opportunity for some fun in the water. Staff was great. Food at the hotel was very good. My only complaint is out of their control. There's construction ongoing and this has been noted by others. I'm assuming at some point that will end. Even though that was a bit annoying at times, overall, the noise did not negate all the other positives about this hotel. From a value standpoint you just can't beat it. I think, inexpensive for all that you get.
Very good spot
Nice clean pool and hot therapy pool
Easy to swim in the sea
Beautiful property with nice sea view
Beds were not very comfortable. Putting two twins together makes even less so
Unique, small and interesting location.
Nothing
We stayed this May and weather was summery and we even jumped in sea (chilli)! Hotel is at superb location, has 2 pools on site and unique Cave bar which is just below hotel, with super friendly staff and excellent cocktails.
Room and common areas were extremely clean. One evening we eat at hotel restaurant
Definitely not 5star! Bog standard average hotel- very disappointing!
I’ve stayed in better airport hotels!
Location and general setting
Could have been some additional extras given the price and request made before travelling was not seemingly considered (would have been nice give my initial contact)
Outstanding location and facilities
Nothing-everything was great
Everything at this hotel is absolutely amazing. The location is impeccable and the views are stunning. The staff is also a wonderful part of the hotel. They were so helpful and accommodating. We will absolutely be back. We wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else while in Dubrovnik.
Literally nothing. Everything was perfect.
Wunderbares „Midsize“ Hotel mit sehr aufmerksamen und höflichen Personal.
Lage direkt am Meer and einem Panoramaweg gelegen. Tolles Restaurant - unbedingt probieren.
