There are very few decent places to stay in this area, and this place takes advantage of it by overcharging tired travelers. ($25 more than other, nicer similar places we stayed.). The front desk was friendly. The room was average with ridiculously high beds and disappointing housekeeping and maintenance. We didn’t use the shower. The counter ledge around the sink vanity hadn’t been wiped down. The tissues were one ply. There was an empty tp roll on the floor behind the wastebasket…it wasn’t ours. The grand finale was when the particleboard shelf between the beds fell off when my husband fell into it. Both ended up on the floor. Thankfully, all he had was a bleeding cut on his arm. It was obvious the shelf had been repaired (badly) before. We reported it to IHG corporate. Their AI response stated how they take concerns seriously. They have not contacted us. Breakfast was adequate with a decent selection. Honestly, at that point, we just wanted out of there.
When you need an overnight stop in the area around Perry, Florida, don’t even hesitate – choose this hotel! Reasonably priced, very clean and fresh – the room, the common areas and the outside pool - even the parking area! The morning complementary breakfast buffet had everything needed, loved the mini omelet, French toast and sausages – even hot fresh cinnamon rolls! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We have found a new “lay-over” on our way to south Florida!
I want to say this has to be one of the best hotels to stay at. Very friendly staff, very clean rooms, and a breakfast worth sticking around for. Sam one of the managers always has my room ready the moment I come though the door. Making you feel welcome.
I wish that I could recall the name of the woman who checked us in, I thought I had written it down, but believe it was Toni or Terry. So many hotels don’t understand when you tell them that you found them on booking.com but that you have not booked on that site, but that you are just aware of the price that you can expect to pay for a room. T did it one better when I said that I thought that we were IHG loyalty members. She was quickly able to find out that we were not, but also efficiently signed us up for the program, thereby giving us a rate that was even better than that that we had found on Booking. When I mentioned a nearby restaurant where we had planned on having dinner, she mentioned one that turned out to be more highly rated and really quite wonderful. She assured me that our room would be quiet and it was. It also had anything that we could possibly need for the night. I like a Keurig coffee maker and the room had one, but when I went downstairs to get some milk at the breakfast buffet, I was greeted with the most fabulous cinnamon rolls! My husband and I had been quite terse with one another the day before and he had suggested a bed-and-breakfast to resuscitate our anniversary. By my bringing cinnamon rolls up to our room along with really excellent coffee from the machine, the wound was bandaged. We stayed and caught up on all sorts of pre-holiday “baggage” on our phones (great Internet), ate cinnamon rolls in bed, husband was able to go downstairs and get a more complete breakfast. Who knew that by being treated right from the very beginning and follow through with a great product and the added surprise of the delightful breakfast that a Holiday Inn express could end up being even better than any bed-and-breakfast that we might’ve found in the area. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel nor staying here again should our travels ever take us up through Perry.
Great hotel for the area. They go above and beyond for my company. Nice room with microwave and fridge. Helpful friendly staff. Good atmosphere.
Great stay! Loved the evening drinks and nice staff on duty. Comfy clean room! The place to stay when in this town. Centrally located.
Very friendly staff, nice breakfast, and clean rooms. We were in town for a funeral and it was good to be at a place that we felt safe.
The hotel looks wonderful. Upgraded 3 years ago. BUT our room had a hoe in the bathroom door. And the post holding up the headboard was knocked out from under. I told the front desk when we left.
Quiet and nice rooms
The property is extremely dirty: room, bathtub, toilet, elevator.
I’ll never comeback to this Hotel!
This hotel is disgusting. I booked based off the positive reviews. I don't understand how they received any positive reviews. The refrigerator was leaking water on the floor, the carpet is disgusting. The carpet is really dark, yet I was still able to see big dirty rings. The shower head had mold and rusty. It was room # 103. Nasty nasty nasty. I only stayed one day...one day too long.
A great place to stop for the night.
Dangerous impromptu bathroom handle
Musty and damp room
Breakfast cleaned up 30 min early
This was not a bad hotel. It was just very dirty. The bathroom needed a deep clean. The vents were covered in dust. The carpet smelled like mold. It was just so dirty. I would not stay there again.
Hands down for the best Gravy
Some dusting was need, the room had a old mildew smell
A great hotel with the worst customer service I have seen myself personally, all while out in the work field. I spoke with a woman at the front counter named Teri who gave me the most trouble trying to book a room saying there was no way on file to verify my identity with no fail safe method of verifying the last 4 digits with card on file. Teri also proceeded with and attitude of disgust as if she didn’t want to service me in the first place. In the end I got my room booked. I hope nobody ever has that much trouble in confirming a room reservation. Place does have exceptional rooms but can’t say the same for the staff. This is the only holiday inn express that gave me the worst customer service possible and I travel a lot for work. I hope Teri receives a major attitude correction from management or disciplinary action.

I booked 2 nights. The first night i found bed bugs in my bed and had to be moved to another room. They only had a suit available so i took that rather than check it. Mind you it was after 11pm when this happened. When i got settled in ny new room the ceiling started leaking water. I tired to call the desk but no one was available. I was finally able to sleep. The next night the ceiling started leaking i decided to check out at around 11pm. I was promised a discount on both nights but only received a discount for the first night. I believed i should have been fully reimbursed for the first night.
