STAY AWAY from this Holiday Inn and Suites more like a run down motel 6; Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kansas City
Sport Complex Area By IHG
8551 East Blue Parkway, Kansas City, MO, 64133 is a total joke. The person at the checkout desk seems to be wearing many hats nobody to help him out. He went out of his way to move us to another room that has hot water in the shower room 223. Also the remote control cover on room 223 is also missing. This room also is not clean you can look at pictures I posted of both bathrooms room 223 and room 216.
We are not the only ones complaining at this Holiday Inn and Suites! We have no hot water in the shower the only hot water we have is from the sink in the bathroom and the cover for the remote in our bedroom is missing in room 216. We will fight the charge with our American Express as soon as we checkout tomorrow! To top it all off they told us there will be a hold of $100 for incidentals! At the other Holiday Inn and Suites in Colby Kansas they never asked us for a deposit they say it will be returned as soon as we checkout! The hotel is dirty, the rooms are dirty with stains on the carpet, the walls of the room and the doors, the tub has a pink mildew going on the bottom of the tub and the surroundings of it room 216. Let me not get started on room 223 the tub has a stain too on the bottom is totally disgusting! 🤢 If Holiday Inn owns this hotel they will here from us. It is ridiculous that they have this hotel open when it should be shut down! Shame on you Holiday Inn! 😡😡😡 I do not recommend this Holiday Inn and Suites stay away!
Good breakfast, easy to find. Odd room though- in the basement with an exterior door. Affordable price. Would stay here again
Estaba bien
Todo me pareció accesible
The room was in terrible condition. Peeling wallpaper and the toilet seat was not attached to the toilet. Bathtub had been repainted overtop of dirt and hair. All of the common areas were kept uncomfortably hot.
Waited a half hour for the front deak attendant that was "helping another customer" yet came in the front of the hotel. Literally a half hour. Breakfast was lack luster. Heard every sound in hallways 24/7. Walls are super thin.
Nothing good. The rooms I booked were not available because the card readers for the doors were broken. The check in staff couldn't figure out how to authorize the incidental deposit on my company credit card. Once the guys were finally in their rooms, the card reader broke again leaving one guy stranded in the hall and ultimately spending two hours with a maintenance man in his room until 11pm working on the door.
There was a lot of hair in the sheets the air conditioning worked well, got a hot shower
The staff was very nice. This property was clean but clearly older, dark, and shabby. Considering the exorbitant price per night, we expected a much nicer property. The worst problem was finding this hotel! Hotels.com has the wrong address posted for this Holiday Inn Express! We discovered this when we drove to the posted address only to be told we were at the wrong Holiday Inn Express! Hotels.com needs to post the correct address!
We had bugs in our room we asked for a refund and they said no we had no other money for any other room and they refuse to give us a refund
AC did not keep the room cool bathroom was shabby parts of molding missing caulking around tub peeling room smelled musty would not stay there again
Breakfast was good
There was trash not cleaned up by housekeepers left from previous guests. The pull out bed was absolutely disgusting with bad stains, the third floor smelled of pee with a puppy pad in the hallway. The ice machines didn’t work, the pool was not cleaned very well and felt gritty.
Dirty
The bed was comfortable
What I didn't like was when I arrived the clerk gave us a room. We went up to the room that was given to us and we could not get in the room the key didn't work so we went back downstairs to the front desk. We also had a cart with our stuff on it that we had to push back down as well. But when we did go back down to let them know our key didn't work he redid the key again. So we went back up pushing the cart again. Get back to the room key still didn't work. So he got the maintenance man and he went back up with us. He tried several times at the room door he couldn't get it. After seeing him try several times we went back down to front desk and just asked for a different room. As we at the desk the maintenance man called the front desk and said that he got in the room. By this time the clerk got us a different room. After getting a different room we went back upstairs to the new room. Opened the door and it smelled horrible. Went back down stairs to the front desk and told him about the room he gave us. So he gave us back the original room. Got back up to that room and the maintenance man was in there listening to his music until we unlocked the door. Very bad experience.
We booked this hotel in January of 2025 for the end of August stay for a game at the Arrowhead stadium. We have been platinum members for 18 years and have a lot of points built up but due to a big game we had to pay an increased price without using points, $270/night for 3 nights. We typically get a free upgrade but not this time. The drapery was falling off the window, the TV did not work so the front desk person came up with a different remote which did nothing, so next day after complaining about no TV the other desk person came up with another remote which did not work. We told him the box to the TV is not on, must need replacing so he took all remotes & said maintenance would be in the 2nd day to repair it. We got back to room & of course nothing done so we had no TV for 3 days. At checkout I said we had no TV for 3 days after complaining each day. The front staff are foreign & just said "Sorry" here is your $800 receipt. The walls are very thin & toilet seats too small for toilets. The air vents in the ceiling of kitchen area have dirt and grit hanging down. The place smells musty & rundown. The breakfast was good & the bed was comfortable but we have never stayed in an IHG hotel & paid this price for such inadequate service. Our family booked a room the same day as us & ended up in the basement in a handicapped room that was at the end of 2 long hallways. They did not have a desk or chair & paid the same $800 for 3 days.
Nothing
We had dirty bedding with toenail clippings and blood streaks when pulling back the bedding. Also we got be bug bites all over our legs. I’ve tried talking to the manager multiple times with no success. Everytime we call they tell us manager is gone and we just missed her, however they will call us back. Still no callback.
Family and I loved the entire experience
Can’t believe this is still an HIE
Pull up to overgrown landscaping and overgrown grass. Place is old and dated. Surfaces were generally clean but wall was dirty and furnishings in bad shape.
No fresh coffee in lobby pre breakfast which has never happened at an HIE before and they pushed breakfast to 630 because I guess they felt like it.
Don’t stay here !
