Un lugar muy diferente e interesante. La pasamos muy bien.
One-of-a-kind spot in Old San Juan! Incredible gardens / plants throughout.
Staying at The Gallery Inn is always a treat. The property is an infinite labyrinth of art work and vignettes that take you to another place in time and the world. Walking the halls and staying here will truly make you feel like you are getting to be a part of an interesting and beautiful historic masterpiece.
Incredibly charming historical restoration of six centuries-old San Juan houses.
Its not like pictures. The rooms smell humidit and too small. I dont like this hotel.
Jan (the owner) amazing, and items she has collected and the Hotel is beyond words! With no fault of Jan we initially booked a one night stay for our honeymoon. We booked on hotels.com garden view room, and were greeted by a young lady that asked us about our luggage. We packed for a 2 week vacation and intended on flying out the following day, so we needed to pack and rearrange luggage. When we informed her of this she laughed and said you might wanna rethink that and rudely walked off. She walked us down a dark hall, up a spiral narrow staircase and into a room that was being cleaned. This was at approx. 445 ck in time was 3pm. She asked us to wait and ck in later. We still paid regular rate, checking in approx after 6pm we finally see our room. Not a garden view, but a wall and street with clubs and young party goers. No hand towels, no wash rags, no floor bath mat, no phone, no tv, and bed was very uncomfortable. We were unable to carry luggage to our room due to the narrow staircase, plastic bags instead. We paid over $320 for a garden view, and when we questioned this n asked for a fridge to use we were ignored and told we should have gotten a suite. Now the restaurant! Omg, Amazing! We will 100% visit that over n over! Food delicious, tapas was a tad bit over priced but we would pay again due to how delicious it all was. Ambiance gorgeous, entertainment so talented!! Jan~ gorgeous. Drinks were well worth the price, and our server and bar staff where social and kind.
The property is one of a kind. Beautifully restored and very unique. Centrally located. Friendly staff.
My wife and i enjoyed the stay. It is a bit untraditional but a good experience overall. Old property, very cool configuration.
angel host her wing were showing everywear She was amazing person people should take note of hear glow
The property itself is charming, however, it is poorly managed. air conditioning was not working, so was moved to another room with bathroom down the hall ..Got up mid night to use facilities and it was swarming with bugs in the hallway.. Proceeded to the 24 hour desk to mention and was handed a can of bug spray by a gentleman who did not even get up to greet us, said nothing to us, just bug spray handed us. Sprayed the bugs and the floor was so wet with spray you could not navigate it easily. Made it til morning to find dead bugs all over the floor still, this was 9 a.m. .. Made mention of all this to the person at the desk who seemed disinterested and had no intention of adjusting any billing. Said she would mention to her supervisor. Never heard a word. So as you must know by now, it is sad that such a charming property so easily gained a negative response. I do want to say that upon our arrival we were greeted by a pleasant young man who was eager to assist with our bags, Beware that there is a challenge to navigate this property as there are numerous stairways and no elevators. Our stairway to our room was 24 inch wide very steep spiral .
What a fantastic piece of history to stay in! The staff is amazing and quick to answer questions or give recommendations. If you are looking for modern then do not stay here but if you want to truly experience vintage Puerto Rico then come and soak it up. The bed was amazingly comfy and I loved that I could throw open the shutters in the morning and watch and hear the ocean waves rolling in. We got in late and they upgraded our room to ocean view with a balcony. Cannot say enough good things!
Court yard and parrots were the highlight. Excellent experience overall. Such a gem.
Old world feel with beautiful artwork. Being in old San Juan was a perfect honeymoon spot.
Love the buildings, architecture was fabulous. Loved the local music and food was wow
Came for the week end because of the San Se celebration. The hotel is just there! Close to everything, friendly staff and great room.
I stayed at the Gallery Inn for the San Sebastian Street Festival. Great location, but poor conditions and to expensive for what it is (I paid $552 per night). There was water leaking from the ceiling in my room. The breakfast is an insult: a plastic bag with “great value” bread slices, cereal in a plastic container and coffee! Hot water was not good enough during the night. I won’t describe this place as a Hotel, it’s more like someone’s old deteriorated house. If you are looking for a decent hotel in Old San Juan: book in El Convento without hesitation.
Where do I start? The entire property is decorated with the coolest pieces of art from back in time. There’s canon balls old pianos all the sculptures the pool the kitchen the architecture of the whole building to the paint they used on the walls. I felt like I was in William Shakespeare’s house way back in time such a cool feel definitely worth it at least one night.
I had stayed here before and loved it, but it wasn't quite as good this time. The room was hard to get to, and a bit blah, and the wireless internet connection wasn't great. The breakfast staff was very helpful.
I missed the lovely reading nook by the pool. Now it's uncomfortable chairs.
Sorry
I understand old
But
It doesn’t have to be filthy
unique property, old yet quaint. beautiful gardens and views
I paid for a suite and was put in the Library with just a full size bed. Guests need to know before they book "Old building old pipes" you can Not flush toilet paper, and no lid on waste basket. saw public restroom waste basket overflowing onto floor with used toilet paper.
