Sands of Kahana

Staffs of front desk were so friendly and helpful.

No air conditioning in the rooms. The bedroom had a small window that faced the noisy hallway. We slept on the living room couch pull out bed just to get a cross breeze from the patio to cool off.

The room had no air conditioning and it was hot. You have to be able to tolerate being warm while you sleep....

Great pool and beautiful beach

Our first impression of the unit was this is beautiful. We had the loft unit which had a fantastic ocean view, sunsets were amazing. The pool and beach area was very nice and the on-site restaurant was a nice option. There is no AC in any of the units but really wasn't an issue because of the beautiful trade wind which blew through the unit to keep it comfortable. There was plenty of room for our whole family and plenty of kitchen utensils, plates and pans to cook meals. Each building had a bank of four grills which was nice option we used twice during our stay.
Here is where the problem was, my daughter and husband found a curly hair in there shower on day one inspection. Day two they saw a cockroach in the loft bathroom. Called the desk to report the issue and they did send maintenance up to take a look, not sure what they did, my daughter said they weren't there very long and didn't ask where we saw the pests. Then the day after my 4 year old granddaughter screamed when she saw a cockroach making its way from the laundry area to the kitchen. I went to see what she was yelling about and there it was a inch and a half to two inches long. I dispatch that one and now we are on the lookout for them. Saw a number of small baby ones in the kitchen and then saw a medium sized one in the master soaking tub. Needless to say we all felt our skin crawling just thinking about it.
We did mention it at checkout but they didn't apologize for the issue or offer us a discount either

Great place, very big condo, great food onsite, great pool everything about it was great

3 bedroom unit with ocean view. Have stayed at this property before and has been great for what we get. They were responsive to fix some minor issues.

The staff was nice. Captain jacks was really good. Rooms were extremely hot. No A/C. Some of the fans didn’t work. Property was clean but rooms were very very dated. Emma, the concierge, was AMAZING!

I liked the size of our dwelling and the ocean view is phenomenal!!

We was invited to a celebration of life for a relative in lahaina,spare of the moment so i needed something fanily accommodating, i was offered sands of kahana and we enjoyed every minute, hour,day and week!!!!

Love the close proximity to the beach, pool and hot tub!

This property felt very relaxing, not full of upidy people, just a down to earth place with beautiful views and friendly neighbors. Will definitely be back here again.

Our vacation was wonderful but beware that there is NO AIR CONDITIONING at this resort. With the placement of our room we did not get any breeze through the windows either. So it made it very hot in our room. We had a hard time sleeping because we couldn’t cool down. Because of this we wouldn’t stay here again. If that doesn’t bother you, than it was wonderful. The beach was beautiful, pool nice and restaurant good. The employees were very friendly. Parking was difficult with a big vehicle but always found a spot. We had a 3 bedrooms and it was very spacious. It was definitely hard to leave the beautiful weather.

Property is outdated. The beach side is a very small area. Was verbally promised and noted to have an ocean view room for honeymoon and did not receive that because they were unavailable when I checked in. Ended up leaving earlier than reserved for.

Property was very old and maintained badly saw few cockroaches crawling. Couldn’t lock the bathroom door. When we called the front desk, they have sent few people to look into it and they couldn’t fix it. The maintenance person said it will be fixed the next day and nobody showed up for the days. Some lights were not working. The fridge was leaking. Couldn’t close the sliding doors in the living room. Overall the property was poorly maintained.

It was nice the restaurant was close, wish they had food options on property. The pizza place across the street was good. We had a great time.

Location amenities and view were good. Rodents eating some of our bread and fruit was an unpleasant surprise. Dishwasher didn't work initially but they promptly fixed it.

Rooms are very spacious and have great view.

You can see they tried to remodel and didn’t quite finish the job. The staff is super friendly though. Towels look and feel old. Pond with frogs houses mosquitos. Pool is nothing big just awesome that it’s heated.

This is a great place for a quiet get away. The beach being right out side was a great extension to the property.
The staff were exceptionally helpful with any inquiries that we had and helping us book outside excursions. Definitely a place we will go back to one day very soon.
