I am going to start out with the positive. The shower pressure was the best I think I ever had. The cookies in the afternoon by they main desk were a nice surprise. Your staff was polite and they work hard but they aren't set up for success. Stayed here 2 days brought our swim suits and the pool had a stench that I couldn't place. It wasn't too much chlorine but something wasn't right. The hotel seems run down. Carpet in hallway near room 320's was coming up and bubbling. Found an unknown spot on my mattress pad. They key for the rooms is old, you actually put the card in the slot not wave it like most hotels. Twice we had to have our keys rekeyed. Breakfast was ok, location is good. I saw many marks in the elevator and tiles in bathroom seem broken. The hotel needs a makeover. I will give you an example when we came in the sanitizer on 3rd floor was empty, told somebody it was empty. When we left 2 days later still empty. Also how can a hotel not have HD on their tvs...
We stayed here for 2 nights after going to the Field Of Dreams baseball site the week of June 22, 2026. The king sized bed room was more that sufficient for the two of us. As this is an "Express" there is no restaurant onsite but there are more that enough local restaurants within 2 miles. The morning breakfast was very good as well with the usual eggs, sausage links, pancakes, biscuits & gravy, fruit, cereals, etc. Our noise level was possibly less than others as we were on the 4th floor but we really didn't hear anything loud or out of the ordinary. As our room window over looked the main parking lot, we could see a lot of vehicles pulling in around dinner time and leaving early the next morning. We found everything was clean and orderly and did not have the issues that previous posted have mentioned (ie odd smells in the hallways, dirty carpets, dirty rooms, door cards not working). The staff we interacted with was pleasant as well.

The biggest issue was cleanliness. The bathroom was so dirty that I didn't even want to take a shower. The overall hotel felt run down and poorly maintained.
The key card system was also a complete joke. The room key would work once and then stop working, requiring a trip back to the front desk to have it reset over and over again throughout our stay.
Most of the staff were pleasant and friendly. The location is okay, but if you're coming for a baseball tournament, do yourself a favor and find something closer to the fields. Between the distance, the cleanliness issues, and the constant key card problems, this hotel was more frustrating than convenient.
This place was a dump, in my opinion. Filthy bathroom, Grime in the corners of the bathroom & shower. Dirty walls, etc. The dresser drawers were open when we arrived & would not close. How this place has a 4 star rating is beyond me.
Location. Easy to get to and from Dyersville. Enjoyed pool and hot tub.
Room was not ready at check in and had to wait an hour for it to be cleaned. The room did not have functioning ac.

We booked 3 rooms on April 1, 2026. We specifically noted in the reservations that we wanted all 3 rooms in close proximity of each other. 2 rooms were for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday) and the other room was only for 1 night (Saturday). When we scheduled with Booking.com, we made it clear that we wanted all 3 rooms together. Booking. Com put me on hold and contacted the hotel to let them know our wishes. When we checked in on Friday, I asked if all three rooms could be together. She said the two rooms starting that night would be next to each other right down the hall on 1st floor, but she was unable to guarantee the 3rd room location (which would be needed the following night on Saturday) until the next day. I asked her to put a note in to try to get them located close to us. The first two rooms were together on the 1st floor. The next day when my daughter and son-in-law checked in my husband went to the front desk to remind them that the room should be near ours. NOPE! They put them up on 2nd floor nowhere near the other two rooms. With 24 days notice of booking 3 rooms and wanting to be booked together, one would think that would be an automatic given and it was not. I found that to not be very hospitable. I would have raved about the this hotel had they been a little bit more considerate of their guest’s request. Holiday Inn Express, you can do better!
Location was good
It was dirty, poorly maintained, staff was less than helpful, and very disorganized.
Water was everywhere throughout the hotel. Rooms were ok, but floors were dirty in the room, hallways, stairs, everywhere.
Breakfast was poorest I’ve had at a holiday inn, very disappointed.
Clean and good location
The pancake machine was broken pretty disappointing that over$200 for one night and can't get pancakes.
The swimming pool was too cold. The hot tub needed to be cleaned better.
The room floor must be slanting inward as all the dresser drawers would come open on their own, the desk drawer stayed open as well, lamps slanted inward. Very odd.

I paid twenty dollars more than I booked for online. The tub had black mold around the tub and hair on the bed sheets. The inside appearance of the building was not up to Holiday inn standards. the floors are weak the make noise when walked on.
Everything was good,breakfast was very good!!
