I’ve stayed at this location a handful of times. I live in Jackson but my kids like to swim so sometimes I get a hotel and this one is our go to. Not anymore. Check in was great. Service was friendly. We get to the room and there’s an entire woman’s outfit sitting in the chair that’s at the desk. I thought it was my kids outfit so I handled someone’s nasty clothes. There was poop marks 12 inches above where the toilet paper is at. There was some nasty stuff on the end of the bed I slept in. I really don’t want to describe it but I have pics and I did show the staff. The kids pool normally has a sprinkler, but according to the staff is likely not going to be fixed due to cost or something. I don’t know. Pretty ridiculous when I paid $140 for a room. The ac/heat unit needed attention. Wouldn’t get warm. Wouldn’t get cool. The plug in next to the bed was broke so we had to charge things across the room. I booked with notes that i had a 7 year old and a 12 year old and I was booked in a conjoining room which I did not feel safe in. As I explained to the staff, I’m not trying to be negative but I loved this hotel at one point. And I want it to get back to that. Maybe this was an off day for the staff. I’m not sure. I know me staying elsewhere won’t hurt anyone’s pockets but I’ll be taking a break from Holiday Inn.

Pros:

The hotel called me less than 24 hours ahead of our departure to Michigan and said they canceled my rooms. They just said, oops we are full. My reservation had been made well over a month ahead of time. They made zero attempt to help get us set up elsewhere so we were scrambling to find a place at the last minute. Won’t EVER book there again.

My secret comfy hideaway

Everything was great I slept good in that bed lol and shout out to Ms Liz ! She’s awesome ! All the staff are great very friendly and happy to help. I would love a bath tub next time but always an amazing stay with you guys! Room was nice and clean. Lots of great parking and the location is peaceful. Next time we might do breakfast. Also my fiance loved the gym!

Pros:

If you are in the area to run, this place is perfect, inexpensive, and close to the running events at Waterloo, Pinckney, and Dexter. Carb-loading Olive Garden 5 minutes away, with a nice little shopping area 5 minutes away. Will stay at this hotel whenever I have a run in the area.

Overall pretty nice hotel, however the doors on the rooms were so loud when closing. Forget having a nap, that’s a total joke. Friendly staff close to shops

The hotel, staff, and room were all fine. The only downside is having to drive around a Meijer parking lot and onto a road that had had been torn up to get to the hotel. That’s not on the hotel. I really feel the hotel was very good, although somewhat dated. Everything worked well and the staff was excellent.

This was a great Holiday Inn. The staff was incredibly friendly and the room was clean. I asked for a room that wasn’t facing the freeway and they happily obliged. The parking lot amd facilities were well kept and in nice condition. I will definitely come back.

Pros:

Bathroom sink drain gave off a foul odor, very noisy - no soundproofing for the door or window. Housekeeping never bothered to clean any of the room surfaces.
