Our recent stay at the Delafield Hotel in Delafield Wi was amazing as we celebrated our 32nd anniversary! Our stay this July in 2026 was even better than our stay in 2023 for our 29th celebration primarily because we were able to secure one of the best suites in the hotel…”The Signature Suite.” The Signature Suite is a very spacious luxurious two bedroom/2-full bath suite. It worked out great for my wife and I for our 4-night stay allowing some separation considering that my wife isn’t a fan of my snoring. Dining at the onsite I.D. restaurant was a wonderful experience as we enjoyed excellent meals and dining service 2 of our 4 nights. It was also a beautiful thing to be able to take short walks to other local restaurants for other meals. Having eaten all the wonderful food in the area, it was also very convenient to be able to walk a few steps next door for complimentary workouts at “The Be Fitness Center” every day during our stay. In addition to the wonderful services and support provided by Delafield’s hospitality manager Erin Jacob, the service staff for the hotel, I.D. restaurant and Be fitness center were all very friendly and professional.
Many thanks to all for helping to make our 32nd very pleasant and more enjoyable!

15 min check - someone else’s clothes already in the dresser - broken towel rack in the bathroom.
Beautiful, spacious, quiet rooms! Fantastic shower and bathtub! Comfortable, luxurious bed. Friendly staff. Great location!
My brother's wedding was beautiful. He couldn't have had it at a better place. Beautiful hotel. Great food. Beautiful atmosphere. Women at check- in were very friendly and kind. The whole place was just awesome.
What breakfast. There was virtually no room service from what I could tell once we were there. Supposedly you could order a charcuterie board with 24 hour advance notice.
Absolutely ridiculous that the thermostat wouldn't go below 67 degrees. We are hot sleepers.
A quick getaway with my hunny. Hotel was beyond relaxing.
Our experience was excellent! Every staff member we encountered was outstanding. The room was perfect even the pictures that decorated the room. We will definitely be returning.
Great friendly staff, cute hotel with amazing art and style. Fantastic restaurant, iD.
The rain water shower and full wall spray nozzles were like and drive through car wash, like those only seen in Japan.
Quaint downtown village feel in Delafield. Would recommend.
Beautiful room, beautiful place, the bead was amazingly comfortable! Can’t wait to stay again
We enjoyed our visit very much. I had chosen the hotel for its walkable location from town and was thrilled with the caliber of rooms, dining and overall style.
Top notch. Loved that I could workout next door for free. Gym was awesome!!
The Delafield Hotel is my favorite hotel! We go every year to celebrate our anniversary. We love the room, the shower is awesome, and the bed is comfy. It’s also located in a great spot, walking distance to restaurants and shops. I highly recommend!
Beautiful hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Loved our stay!
We chose the Delafield Hotel/Inn because it had higher ratings than other options in the area, but our experience left us underwhelmed—especially given the premium price tag ($350/night on a Sunday, which surprisingly jumped to $450 on a Monday night).
Arrival & First Impressions: Arriving around 3:00 PM on a Sunday, the place felt entirely deserted. The parking lot was wide open, and the hotel has very minimal signage. We couldn’t even find an obvious front or side entrance. Once we finally dragged our suitcases inside, there was only a single staff member at the desk and absolutely no offer of help with our bags. For a luxury price point, the lack of a warm welcome or basic assistance was very surprising.
The Room (Room 203): The sheer size of the room was a pleasant surprise. We were told the building used to be a warehouse, and the space reflects that. It eventually grew on us, but there were some distinct pros and cons:
The Good: We had a massive layout with an entryway, a sitting room, a king bed, and a very large bathroom. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was highly functional with bright lighting. The shower was a bit mysterious but very effective, featuring a ceiling rainfall shower head alongside three body jets.
The Bad: The room was freezing cold. The AC seems to run on full blast 24/7, and adjusting the thermostat yielded minimal success. The aesthetic choices were a bit odd (a black ceiling), and none of the pillows felt quite right. A microscopic bar of soap was the smallest we have found at a hotel rated higher than Motel 6.
The Service: There was no complimentary water or drinks, and since nobody escorted us to the room, we had no explanation of how to use any of the amenities. Furthermore, while there were two large TVs, premium channels like Showtime and STARZ were completely dysfunctional. When we called the front desk, they unhelpfully brushed it off, claiming everything was "working as expected."
Amenities & The Spa: My wife booked under the impression there was a pool, but that's a bit misleading. The spa is located in a totally separate warehouse building and only features a basement "resistance pool" rather than a traditional swimming pool. Interestingly, the spa seems to be the most popular spot in town—it was running on all eight cylinders, while the hotel itself felt like it was gasping on one.
The Verdict: Overall, the room itself is adequate, but it is way overpriced for the lack of service you receive. Given the poor price-to-value ratio, we don't think we would stay here again. It was just OK.
Exquisite overall experience! Best shower I’ve ever taken! Nice to have full access to the health club next door. Perfect location!
The hotel, amenities, and service are too-notch. Everyone is polite, professional, and helpful. I.d. restaurant & bar are creative in both food and drink. Bartenders are friendly and fun. The fitness club next door is large and first class. There are so many ‘venues’ to which you can walk, for almost anything you need. Even in inclement weather. SJNA (St.John’s Northwestern Academy) is less than half a mile away, and the campus is incredible. A preparatory academy that has been around since 1884. The hotel and SJNA are both in the old (cool!) part of Delafield. Wisconsin’s oldest supper club is about 3 miles up the road, and has been there since 1848. Just do it and go visit
Add my wedding. My daughter's wedding at this venue, which was spectacular. The staff was right on the food was great. And the location as well as the beauty of the hotel were perfect
Such a great hotel! Spotless! Friendly staff. First experience bringing our dog and they were amazing with her. Walking distance to many great restaurants and close enough to visit Milwaukee. Will definitely be back
The Delafield Hotel is absolutely fabulous. Staff are great. Rooms are exceptional and the restaurant ID is fabulous. We will always stay here when we come to Delafield. Thank you all the staff
The hotel certainly has charm and a great atmosphere, staff was excellent.
However, our room was not what I consider to be top quality. I understand challenges of the older structure, but some things were just overlooked. Tile around tub needed grout repair, calcium buildup in shower floor, a broken lamp, poor patchwork on walls. These are things I often would not complain about but when rooms are over the $200+ mark for a night I expect more.
