The Coronet Hotel

We stayed at Coronet as part of our get together with friends who had come from overseas.

The hotel is centrally located in Deccan but not very easily spottable.

The room was ok. Toilets just about working. Service was good. The restaurant in the hotel serving parathas is nice.

Overall a good place for stags to get together and have fun over food, drinks, etc. Not very formal.

Please never visit this hotel. The most mis managed hotel in entire world. Staff is arrogant, toilets are like government run common toilets, pathetic food quality. The most mismanaged hotel I ever saw. I will never recommend this hotel even to my enemy

Pathetic hotel.

Day 1 : Hotel situated at First Floor. No body knows. On ground floor there is no one to guide you at hotel. You can't find this hotel on GPRS. So so bad / No welcome drink or any greet for any customer. I checked in hotel room and toilet was more stinkier than Municipal Toilets.

Day 2 : No Hand Towels in Toilets. / No Dental Kits in Toilet / No Dustbin in Toilet / Water Kettle Placed in Room was not been cleaned from the previous guest who was staying in the room. The breakfast room is on 7th floor and the spread is so bad.

Totally frustrated with the attitude of staff as they say sir we can't help as Housekeeping staff has not come to work.

Advise strongly to not to use this hotel. I booked this hotel from make my trip.

This hotel desperately needs renovation. Interiors falling apart, dirty tapestry, disintegrating mirror frames, barely Luke warm water in the bathroom. One cannot adjust the air conditioning from the in room controller. They have set temperature to 19 degree which falls to 17 at night. Not very hospitable. The technician is reluctant to change the settings. Definitely not value for money

Nice hotel with all you need near by, if going back to Pune I will stay here again. The breakfast was simpel, but ok. The bed and bathrooms was good with good water pressure and nice pillows. There was good securety at the hotel.

Bad service and poor room quality as per what is shown in description this is one of the worst hotel visited.The bathrooms stinks.The staff is not well managed had no towels in the bathroom there was no fridge as told...had asked for towel which took almost an hour to receive it from the staff..I regret to check in here...

stayed a night here, the moment checked in to hotel had a bad odor from the room, as it was very late, managed a night. but the pillows are worn out the bed had bugs, the lifts are very old, had a very bad night sleep.
we changed the hotel in morning.
the breakfast are is on terrace and is like a marriage party with so much crowd around..had not a good experience except for good staff.

I booked this hotel through goibigo for one night as recommend by one of my friend who knows Mr. Abhijeet when hi was in other hotel

 this hotel was one of my choice based on some review but believe  personal opinion varies from the other reviews

Property  :-   Coronet is a business hotel and   very quite as is the good hotel
but The entrance is quite small and sometimes you wonder whether u have come in a right hotel. And also The reception is on first floor so people.  visiting gets confused in the beginning only  and there is practically no one to attend on the ground floor.

Location :- Conveniently located. on Apte Road very close to Deccan. well as probably the best locality in Pune Gymkhana and Ferguson College Overall, a good place to stay for work

Lift :- Lifts are poparly maintained but there is only one lift so in case u hav more guests  will have to wait

 Staff :- Staff is very cooperative but while checkout no one will help to pick your bag until you ask them

Room :- rooms are ok its not so spacious nor so small it's clean and the furniture is quite functional. with medium sized LCD TV.

Restaurant and breakfast:-. restaurant which was a multi cuisine restaurant was a Paratha restaurant now. breakfast is only some south indian items. Breakfast needs to be improved

Overall a The Coronet is not perfect but good , but I would gladly recommend it. to all for business and family stay.

 

Very badly managed property. Built beautifully, as evidenced from the rooms layout, structure and outside view. However, I presume, constant poor management, non-efficient staff have made this place non – livable now. Had to stay there for 3 nights as other options were not available and had already pre – booked.
Coming to more specifics, rooms are not neat and clean, I had to change room twice post check in to find a room which is at least livable. Furniture is all old, damaged, scrapped kind. AC in rooms are centrally controlled though temperature control unit is provided in the room, but it does not really works, whatever temp you set it wont go below 24 / 23 degrees as controlled by them. You can’t switch on the fan and sleep as it is too noisy. WiFi connection is bad. Upon complaint they installed a router on my floor even after that it wasn’t working. Most disturbing feature is that you don’t have privacy in rooms as they have a connecting gate to the adjacent room which is not sound proofed. So if you have noisy guests next door (which was in my case) you might have to wake up suddenly in the middle of the night because of the noise. Rooms have all round damp smell and the corridors are filled with the foul smell of garbage, alcohol, cigarettes. They generally dump garbage near stair case making the area and adjacent rooms smellier.
Housekeeping staff are not trained properly, water and newspapers are provided as per their choice whichever day they feel like. On enquiring about the same, one of the housekeeping staff told that its like this only, generally we provide 2 bottles on check-in day and that is supposed to be for entire stay duration. Used linens and towels are dumped in the corridor on floor near elevator. Even though they would be washing it but that’s a very unhygienic view in itself.
Washrooms are not cleaned / sanitized properly. The toiletries are old and generally same small bottles seems to be refilled after every check out (Doesn’t had the courage to use at all).
Breakfast buffet is not so good, served in unhygienic manner. They take 15 – 20 minutes to serve boiled eggs, milk also is smelly, corn flakes are kept in open bowl and not in a dispenser so after few serving you can only have is a mix of flakes, chocos etc. Ordering anything from restaurant you have to pay upfront as they won’t add it to your room bill. Laundry is very harsh and on top of it they misplaced my clothes.
Overall not at all recommendable.

I have not checked in because rooms condition is very bad and completely zero please don't recommend next time

Excellent service good food and friendly staff hotel is quite old and tiring everything is outdated

Pros:
1. The Hotel is conveniently located at Apte road in Deccan area
2. The food at Sudama Next rooftop restaurant is tasty and they serve generous portions. The waiters here are courteous and smiling.
3. The hotel permitted a late check-out (3 PM) at no extra charge

Cons:
1. The room was not ready when we checked in at 12.45PM
2. There were no towels, soap or shampoo in the bath room. Had to call housekeeping for it
3. Mini refrigerator was not cooling at all
4. Mirror in bathroom was flyblown and had spots and reflective surface damaged in several places
5. There was a dank smell in the bathroom and we needed housekeeping to spray a room freshener to remove the smell
6. Airconditioning was inadequate - digital control indicated 19C, but room temperature was definitely above 24C
7. Glass topped tables in the reception lounge had a thick layer of dust which was clearly visible in the sunlight. There were cobwebs near the roof of the lounge
8. There are no emergency stairs easily accessible an no indications of emergency exit routes.
9. The restaurant is on rooftop and not airconditioned. Tends to get warm during the day and in summers.

This hotel needs a strong manager with focus on house keeping to capitalize on its location and good food attributes

Excellent hotel, its location is very good, the area is quiet. Very friendly staff, the hotel manager very friendly too, I received help in everything I needed.
The breakfast was Indian style, good. My first time in Pune, my stay was 5 nights and I had a good experience.

The room was very comfortable. All basic amenities of a business/family hotel. Lobby was a bit cramped but the experience in the room made up for it. The best part of the hotel was the Paratha house just at the ground floor of this hotel. Mind blowingly delicious Parathas are served there, the best i've had ever!

Milk powder, tea bags, sugar was inadequate.
No shower caps
No dental and shaving kits.
Had to demand for all this.
Lift was horrible.
kitchen was extremely dirty

Decent hotel and beautiful location, food had many varieties, good restaurant, rooms were clean and room service was also good, staff was very supportive and active, will like to definately like to visit again l, overall very good stay and peaceful surrounding.

Hotel is really very good. Had a great stay here.. very Co operative staff, Awesome Hospitality... Neat and tidy.. Delicious food, with proper services provided. . Will definitely recommend this hotel...

Please AVOID. Apart from a decent looking lobby, this place is no good for anything else. badly kept rooms, louzy room servise, terrible breakfast and badly kept kitchen makes this a NO option in pune at Deccan gymkhana area. There are better options around.

Felt the rooms were too small. Decent hotel for the price though - you get what you pay for

Pune is a great place. The hotel is a little dated but affordable compared to others in the area..! Food was very good indeed. Room service could be improved. The staff is a little inexperienced. We had to ask for everything to be provided in the room like..Kettle, clean glasses, coffee, tea, milk..etc..etc. overall it wasn't that bad.
