Hôtel Duo

Dear Management of Hotel Duo,

I’ve stayed at Hotel Duo several times over the years and have always enjoyed my stays. This time, however, I found a tired, old Paris hotel…so disappointing in so many ways.

The lobby is looking dated and worn - the carpet in the bar area was so old and unclean.

The elevator hasn’t been updated for some time - the wood was severely scratched from years of use and no refinishing.

What was once a tres-chic bar, is now a self-service operation. Most of the liquor bottles were empty and not replenished regularly.

We had a special dinner reservation at Le Grand Vefour one evening and we wanted our clothing to be pristine. In our room was a card with a QR code to be scanned. We were assured that our request (for the location and use of an iron and ironing board) would be handled promptly… the response came two days after the special event….

Having gotten no electronic response, I went to the front desk and tried to get the use of an iron and ironing board, only to find out that I had to go to the basement for the “stationary” ironing area.

What used to be a top-of-the-line Miele steam iron was now a broken, inoperable and entirely unusable (due to lack of cleaning and maintenance.

The bedroom itself showed equal signs of wear in the toilet room, bath room (mold on the ceiling) and the bedroom itself.

The staff were as helpful as they could be, but it was clear they were understaffed and unprepared for guests.

I realized that I was there in August – a time of vacation for many Parisiennes, but hotels and restaurants still had to cater to the many, many visitors to the great city.

One evening we returned to the hotel at around 23:00 – we rang the bell repeatedly with no response. Finally, I had to find the phone number and call. We were out on the pavement for nearly 20 minutes, along with other guests.

It’s such a shame that deferred maintenance seems to be the order of the day…

On our last day in Paris, we were told that we had to switch rooms, due to a booking problem. So, we had to return to our room, pack quickly and vacate our room. Now hot, sweaty and frustrated, we brought all our things back to the lobby and were told they would be delivered to our “new” room later in the day.
Upon our return we were told that our things were back in the room we had just vacated! Imagine our frustration in having to spend a precious morning doing this futile exercise.

I have been in management most of my life and I know I would appreciate this kind of feedback. I only hope the same is true for you.
Hotel Duo is a treasure in a most excellent locale – I hope that what was once a beautiful, chic, modern boutique hotel can continue.

I won’t be visiting again.

飯店位於瑪黑區精華地段,步行15分鐘的距離內潮店,知名咖啡廳,餐廳雲集,是瑪黑區住宿的絕佳地點,房間實際空間比照片上看起來要小一些,2個28吋行李箱無法同時展開,但空間設計得宜,補足了空間不足這部分.

O quarto reformado é bem legal, sem a banheira no banheiro
O melhor do hotel foi o funcionário Bernard que foi muito educado e fez o que pode pra nos agradar ! Nota 10 pra ele.
