Great place to stop and rest when taking the drive to Northern Nevada!
Pros:

I have wanted to stay at the Topaz for a long time. I love the location and the vibe. Everyone is very friendly. The little bar and live band was entertaining.

Cons:

I thought the price for the room was a bit high for the quality of the room and the lodge. Don't know if I would stay again but we will definitely keep stopping by on our way through.

Half a stay
Pros:

The place was AMAZING. The rooms were clean. The restaurant was great. The store is nice. Ample parking.

I plan on coming back.

Cons:

I couldn't stay the second night due to a fire.

My BIG complaint is about booking.com. The site said it was 15 miles from Carson City in Garderville. It is in fact at Topaz Lake, which is 20 miles from Gardnerville and 35 miles from Carson City. We put the address booking.com gave us and we ended up at a GAS STATION. I'm sad to admit that if I had accurate information I would have chosen a different place.

Quaint but dated hotel
Pros:

On a Saturday night it was the cheapest thing going. The restaurant staff was outstanding. Nice view…

Cons:

My car was literally parked about 100yds from my room. Very inconvenient especially making multiple trips. No ice machine, no coffee in room and the hotel marquee was flashing in my window all night. Food was very expensive for a casino

Cons:

From the tattooed young lady behind the counter that doesn't know the meaning of Customer Service, to the party above me until 0200 for both nights, this was my worst stay at this place.
Tried to check in at 1630 but was told rather rudely that the room wouldn't be ready until after 1730-1800. When I did check in, she acted like I was bothering her.
The remote didn't want to work 75% of the time. Could of been the batteries.
Extremely disappointed with how this visit went.

Too expensive for quality and condition
Pros:

Beautiful location over looking Topaz Lake, but very dated in need of some updating for modern plugs and how about a table and lamp on each side of bed.

Cons:

Obly moderately clean room, too many random hairs on items, and on towels, yuck!
