Superb hotel nice view. Ms Uzma and Ms Varsha were very helpful. Breakfast was very nice and big spread. And very close to colaba street shopping market. Walking distance. Staff was very co ordinate.
Stayed here for 3 nights, small room, great staff, plenty of water supplied, best bit was the location to everywhere very handy. Breakfast was chaos though, too many people for such a small area.
Having spent a few days at the Fariyas in Lonavla, i had reasonably high expectations particularly as i paid £150/night. The hotel is located in Colaba close enough to shopping and restaurants but not too close to be bothered by the persistent noise. Location score: 5/5. Check-in was a little slow but the reception staff were warm and friendly. Checkin score: 4/5 The room was reasonably sized but very very dated and worn out. The floor was heavily worn, TV very small, shortage of power points. Air conditioning was very quiet and effective. The bed was firm but surprisingly comfortable. Room score: 3/5 Ensuite bathroom was not acceptable. Dated, lacking ventilation, very smelly and desperately in need of a deep clean. The dirt on the tiles/grout was disgusting and way below 4 star standard. Bathroom score: 1/5. Breakfast is served in the first floor restaurant. There is a mix of Indian/Western items in the buffet but they all looked unappetising. Fortunately they also make Omelettes and parathas to order so i had these and they were very good. Breakfast score: 3/5 Overall I was disappointed with the hotel and would not return - too expensive for the quality and cleanliness provided.
Positives :-
Great location
Value for money
Great reception welcome
Porters excellent
Restaurant staff great
Food was amazing
Happy Hour
House keeping brilliant
GM changed our suite at short notice
Negative :-
Booked via make my trip, I had my hotel voucher and confirmation however the hotel did not get their hotel voucher and were pestering me to the point of saying I would not be able to check in . It should not be my responsibility in my view to chase for their voucher and I did not appreciate the threats.
Agra suite the noise from the roof either fan or electrics was to loud we could not sleep.
I think they had a wedding party in and therefore at breakfast I struggled to get a table to the point I had to sit with some random people . I like going late so if I had known may of gone earlier to avoid issue.
All good. Staff were helpful, friendly, and good to chat to. Accommodation was excellent, and good choice at breakfast, with again very helpful staff. Good location being near Taj hotel and India gate etc.
We spent four nights here as part of a tailor made five week trip around India so it was chosen for us by our travel agent. Our room was on the 9th floor. The room itself was quite small and a little claustrophobic for a four night stay. The view was overlooking a side street so not great. It was clean but I wouldn't say spotless. The room and bathroom are a little tired and dated. We got room service one night and the pizza and vegetable club sandwich were OK but nothing special. Food in the restaurant was much better. Both the breakfast and evening buffets were good with a fair selection. The garlic mash was delicious! The pool area on the first floor is quite small for the size of the hotel but at least there was some outside space. The hotel is well located for The Gateway of India and Colaba Jetty (walkable). Trying to change money at reception was a very long and arduous process. Overall, it was an OK stay. It is certainly not a four star hotel by UK standards.
We stayed at this hotel from 17th to 26th December and were very pleased to have done so. It is conveniently situated to the Taj Mahal Hotel, Gateway and Colaba Causeway with shops and market close by. This is an excellent hotel with great atmosphere having an outdoor pool, good lighting facilities, security staff, fitness centre and free WIFI.
The staff especially Eshan, Atharv, Mazin, Leyon, Aaron, Varsha, Sachin and Saj were very helpful and courteous. Nothing was too much for them. Our room was spotless.
We enjoyed our delicious breakfasts every morning in the Tamarind Restaurant which consisted of fresh fruit and juices, assorted breads and freshly prepared dishes. Over and above, guests can order fried eggs, scrambled eggs or masala omelettes. The restaurant also serves lunches and dinners.
Thank you to all the staff. We will certainly visit again.
The overall experience was amazing. Staff very friendly and helpful . Best service from Sandeep Singh and Surjan Singh
I spent 5 nights here and the hotel organised a taxi for me as my flight was due to land at 00.15 in the morning, it was subsequently delayed by 2 hours and i was able to contact them via watsapp to keep them posted.
All staff were helpful when needed. My room looked out over the harbour with a full floor to ceiling window, I did book the premium sea view so I reccomend this if its possible for you. I found the heat in mumbai quite hard going and its not really a place where you can just sit quietly and observe things so I spent more time in my room than I would usually, and went out in the mornings and eves but relaxed in my room during the hottest period. So I was glad i had a nice room to do that in.
The pool looked nice but was always in full sun.
If I returned to Mumbai I would stay here again.
We booked a room at Fariyas Hotel Colaba, Mumbai for 3 adults, clearly mentioning that we needed 3 proper beds. Upon arrival, we found only 2 beds in the room. The hotel then said they would provide an extra bed, but what they brought was a metal folding bed with an old, torn, and used mattress (as shown in the picture).
For a 4-star hotel, this was completely unacceptable. The hotel never mentioned anywhere during the booking process that the “extra bed” would be of such poor quality. It felt misleading and unprofessional.
When we raised the issue, the staff simply said this was the only type of extra bed available, with no attempt to offer a better solution or any form of compensation.
Overall, we felt cheated and disappointed. Definitely not the standard or comfort you’d expect from a hotel that calls itself 4-star.
Everything was perfect, location, services and Food was very good. I have been staying in this beautiful hotel many times
The staff are very accommodating from restaurant, to front desk and housekeeping. I especially liked when I returned to hotel wet from the monsoon, the doorman was kind and very helpful. The staff try very hard here. Pool also clean and fun to use with view of the port. I loved sitting near the window. Nd watching sun come up with black birds in sky.
Great location in the city. Rooms are somewhat dated and crammed. The food at the hotel is great. The bed was comfortable.
Wonderful Rotary Fellowship Evening!
Today is evening we hosted our Rotary Fellowship Party at Fariyas Hotel, Colaba, and it was an excellent experience! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was warm, caring, and efficient throughout.
A big thank you to GM Sandeep Nadre, Executive Chef Sanjay, and F&B Manager Shashi Singh along with their superb team for making the evening truly special. Fariyas continues to deliver outstanding hospitality every single time!
Stayed here for 3 days and really enjoyed it. The staff were polite and very attentive. The restaurant was simply amazing! We have had Indian food in Australia but the buffet here was next level. The flavours were incredibly clear and aromatic and the choices had us going back for more. On our first night in the restaurant we were looked after by a very nice staff member called Shanak who explained all the dishes and recommended appetisers. He also looked after us around the pool during the afternoon and was an interesting conversationalist! We cannot fault any of the staff, all we just so nice. The hotel rooms were very comfortable and the location is perfect for sightseeing. The famous Taj hotel and ferry to elephanta Island is within walking distance, and the Arabian sea is 2 minutes away. Highly recommend this hotel.
The service was good Aaron DM, Mazin & Varsha were very helpful at the reception recommended hotel to go will be coming with family next visit
Dear All
I stayed at Fariyas Mumbai in September 2025, on the recommendation of my friend - who has been a regular guest. In the middle of Colaba, this hotel was everything I had hoped for – hospitality and great location.
From the moment I arrived at 3am on Saturday, I was treated with such kindness and care. A special thank you to Mazin and Raju, whose exceptional hospitality made me feel truly at home.
Mazin and another colleague checked me in and Mazin has always just been non-stop smiles and kept wishing me a happy birthday everyday - since he saw the date of my birth on my passport. 🥰
Raju was so sweet - always checking in that everything was perfect and assisting me with whatever I required.
I also loved that the managers had no airs about themselves and even indulged my constant chatter 😃😅
Everyone's warmth and attentiveness is unforgettable. I also want to express my gratitude to Manglesh, the housekeeper who looked after my room. He was so awesome and I called the front desk from my room to share the wonderful customer service he gave me.
Sincerely
R Dawood
The hotel is in a good location to walk to Gateway Of India which is about 10 mins away along the waterfront, however, the hotel itself is old and tired. The rooms, especially the bathrooms were not in good condition and dirty. The bath was rusty and there was a lot of black mould. The aircon was noisy too.
On the plus side, the breakfast was very good and the staff in the restaurant were excellent.
Good location - close to Gateway of India, local shops and cafes. Pleasant staff. Good restaurant. But - rooms are small, bathrooms are tiny, internet/wi-fi connection is poor. Ask for a room on an upper floor to get a good view of the Mumbai waterfront.
Its a very nice hotel and very safe inside.
