Aldem Boutique Hotel Istanbul

Great location. Nice view from the roof. Good breakfast included.

Se você procura uma vista deslumbrante da cidade na janela do seu quarto, procure outro hotel. Se você deseja uma localização excelente, um banheiro novo, limpo e com bom chuveiro, boa cama, ar condicionado funcionando, bom café da manhã e staff atencioso, essa é uma ótima opção.

Pluses:

1) The location is excellent for sightseeing, only a 10 minute walk to Aghia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Topkari Palace. A tram stop is a two minute walk, and the nearest metro station is about 8 minutes walk.

2) Clean. The room cleaning lady does a great job.

3) Cheap for a historic centre (but you'll quickly see why, see below)

4) Good pressure shower!

Minuses:

1) Many rooms are located at the back of the building with not-so-great views (house under construction) or NO views at all. Rooms on our side had a solid wall of rendering about 1.5 meter away from the window. So no natural light at all, you just see the wall.

2) The breakfast is very limited and products are of really poor quality, some seem to be reused.

3) Very bad Wi-Fi, particularly in the evening. It took me 2 days of complaining to get a better WiFi (they have two WiFi networks, the second seems to be reserved only for those who complain).

4) The back of the building also houses a large air-conditioning unit, so if you're unfortunate like us, you will lie there trying to sleep but hear it switching on and off.

5) If like us, you're unlucky to get a room next to the elevator, prepare for constant noise.

6) This location, surrounded by many cafe and restaurants, also means that you will get constantly hassled by restaurant people as you pass by. Not the hotel's fault, but gets very tiring after a while.


7) The quality of finishing in rooms is poor.

Good about this hotel -

Location - Excellent as you are close to the main sights and a tram stop is 2 minute walk away.
Facilities/Services - Lift available which was very useful, laundry, breakfast and arranging travel.
Service - Most of the receptionist staff spoke English and were very helpful with arranging excursions or anything we needed help with. They almost always had someone at reception too.
Roof - Nice view of the Blue Mosque and a lot of the city.
Price - Better value than the hotels that are supposed to be competing with this hotel.

Bad about the hotel -

Rooms - The bathrooms were VERY small.
Facilities - There was very low water pressure in the bathrooms, the lowest in any hotel i've ever stayed at. The AC was also quite weak. Some rooms appeared to have a newer AC and different showerhead which compensated a tad for the low water pressure. They also didn't have a do not disturb hanger to hang outside the door, so if you were napping after a long walk you would be woken up by the cleaning staff unless you told reception in advance. Also, if you were staying on the first floor, you hear a lot of sound inside and outside of the hotel.

Overall review -

If you are on a budget, honestly this is a hotel I would stay at again if I was on a tight budget. It's better than a lot of the hotel which are competing with it in terms of price range.

I was there on 27 June for two nights. The hotel exceeded my expectations in almost everything. Very good value for money.

Central Location to landmarks, 10 minutes walk to grand bazaar, Galata tower, blue mosque etc

Maybe it was not the luxurious or the top modern hotel I stayed in but fortunately, it was on of the best in terms of location, cleaning, staff, amenities, etc.

My stay wasn't very pleasing i was put in a very small room . I wasn't comfortable at all there was alsot of sounds from the next door business building and the noise of the cans woke me up during the night. It wasn't pleasant at all .

Excellent location

This hotel was recommended by a friend, very nice and good value for money.

The hotel location is great, surrounded with many restaurants, shops and most of historical places at the middle of the old town. but the room size was shocking, it's about 14 square meter for three persons. knowing that when I reserved this room it was written 20 square meter. otherwise, the staff were friendly and great.

Staff very friendly and helpful. A good breakfast is included in the price. However, the rooms are small and the bed is only a double. The bathroom is very small and the bathroom fittings could do with an overhaul. The location is just about as good as it gets being a two minute walk from the Sultanahmet centre.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Poor hotel room so small we couldn’t pass each other. Bathroom dirty. Breakfast was poor.
