Probably not maintained or repaired for decades. No service, disgusting breakfast, no other food or drink options, no wi-fi, elevators all broken, broken concrete in (warm) pool area, long walk to rooms up stairs, very limited ratty towels. Over-priced. AVOID!

Dear Mrs. Vava, unfortunately I have to tell you today very unpleasant experiences and impressions from the Ayodhaya Beach Resort.
My name is Roman Maiorino and I am a trained hotel specialist.
I have been travelling in Asia for 2.5 months and have countless overnight stays in good to mid-range hotels through Booking com. I would like to spend time in all of them again. However, your hotel is completely exempt from this. I have never experienced a more unfriendly and unprofessional reception with my 61 years. No friendly face, no greeting, no empathy ..... and above all no service. This is a "no go" in our industry. The standard of the rooms is relatively ok. The surrounding is very very pitiful, run-down and probably not renovated since the 80s.
The only bright spot was a very good English speaking employee who tried very professionally to save the tense situation. We have decided to leave your hotel immediately. We insist on at least one night's refund instead of 2. That would be our proposal for a compromise. This applies to: Roman Maiorino # A14 and Mr.Peter Kout # B12. Check Inn 21.2.25 / normal out 24.2.25. Crash Check out on 22.2.25. I regret not to bring you better news and remain with best regards. Roman Maiorino
We upgraded on arrival to pool access room, double our booking rate but that was ok.
Airconditioning not work, ceiling fan not working, the matress was a boxspring, Wifi not working anywear in the building, room safe was not functional, building elevator not working. The pool area was rundown, filthy, see picture.
It was horrible service, as we checked in the room was half-way done. The bathtub was dirty, no towels at all and One of the two beds had no sheets/comforter, we realized around 11:30pm.. and no one answered at the front desk.. when we went to the lobby there was no hotel staff, just 2 guys half sleep on the lobby chairs ( seemed like they were just night stands.. when we asked for help to get sheets they said (in a very rude manner) that we had to bring “our problem” next day and started ignoring us.... we had no sheets (so no way to cover ourselves) we had to use our own towel. The next morning we informed front desk and they were also very rude.
Great stay. Nice and quiet. Only about 5 minute walk from night market.
Lots of mixed reviews, but we were pleasently surprised. If your looking for a clinically clean state of the art hotel its probably not for you!.If you like character, some fantastic old style Thai buildings and plenty of quirky charm, then this may be for you
A lovely quiet beach about 200 yards from the front door and a good breakfast as well !
Age and failings do not give owners the right to take customers money and treat them as fools. This hotel was once beautiful but now is sad and serverely run down. The experience of staying here is one we will never forget for all the wrong reasons.
Nothing updated since 1980’s. Buffet meat was as cheap as it gets. I’m sure this place was epic 40 years ago, but they are letting it fall apart. Elevators are shut down and gym is dangerous.
Old building
Poor breakfast
**Great Stay – Excellent Staff & Location!**
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly and always willing to help, making the experience even better. The hotel itself is high quality, with clean and comfortable rooms. Plus, the location is perfect for visiting Thailand’s top temples, making it super convenient for sightseeing.
The only downsides were that the elevators weren’t working, so it was a bit of a walk to the rooms, and the breakfast was just average—nothing special. However, overall, I still had a great experience and would definitely stay here again!
This resort is HUGE. We got a room in the 3rd floor. No elevator available. I guess once upon a time this was a great place, but unfortunately it has not been well maintained so everything its old. Also they as for your deposit in cash, so be prepare.
We went to the resort just to sleep,so it kind of work for that purpose. It is at walking distance from the brach and night market.
it was terrible. it's a 5 star hotel that should be 2. nothing worked there was no internet in the rooms, the endless corridors, we had to go to reception every time because we stopped working the light, the bathroom, the air conditioning, they didn't put towels, They don't respond to the messages you send, the fridge without the key doesn't work which my mother couldn't put on her medications because when we arrived it was off and we got lost. If you can choose another place, take another one.
Underwhelmed with this accommodation we have stayed in 2 and 3 star which was so much better - rooms are tired - although check in time was 2 and advised accommodation we would be there for 4.30 - one of rooms was not ready. Breakfast was poor - I can imagine back in the day this would have been wonderful - but in need of TLC and a good clean !
Hotel stay at Ayodhaya place was terrible. We stayed there from 11th to 13th jan 2025
1. There was no bellboy for handling the luggage of elderly people at hotel.
2. On 12th morning we handed over keys to hotel reception before leaving to trip to island, the same time we requested the staff to clean our room and provide us at least one face towel which was not available in the room.
When we returned back to hotel from our trip of islands in evening, nether the room was cleaned nor the face towels were kept in the room. More over consumables like water bottles and coffee were not replenished.
Around 7pm, same day, on our complaint room was cleaned but just for formality. Half of the things were not cleaned. Two face towels were kept but those were very dirty and smelly.
3. There was no reception contact number displayed or written in the room so that we could call them in case of emergency.
4. There were 6 access points for accessing WiFi in room but none of them were working.
5. Breakfast was of very inferior quality. Insects used fly over Salads and Food and juices were not being replenished once being finished. Vegetarian breakfast was unthinkable at Ayodhya place.
6. Hotel Staff at large was also having clumsiness and uncooperative.
7. Elevators were there but none of them were operational.
8. there was a great concern over the items which were mentioned in the list of items in room but were not present in the room. If hotel intended to claim the cost against those items it will would have created lot of problem.
We were in January 2024 . Experienced firstly a horrible hotel except the hotel workers because they work a very low wage they were very kind to us but the manager was very rude to us we stayed there with breakfast but only ıts name was breakfast you could not find anything to eat only I was able to find pine apple and toast
But the manager always examined the guest how much they have and one day he told me rudely ıf you want all the tray of fruit
I was very disappointed of the hotel and ı dont recommend anyone to stay there
For us from reception check in to check out it was very bad vacation
Don't bother, specifically booked room with soaker tub....no plug for tub...asked reception whose answer was that since they installed showers no need for tub ? Tried to fashion "homemade " plug....no hot water...contacted reception again...not allowed to use tubs !!! When I asked WHY do you have them in room then got told they are not allowed...front counter really did not give a darn....was staying 4 nights...checking out first thing...
WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER
Avoid Adodhaya Palace Beach Resort despite its misleading 5-star rating. My stay revealed numerous serious issues that make this property impossible to recommend. The problems began at check-in with inattentive staff and continued throughout my stay. The room's WiFi didn't work - an issue they admitted has existed since Covid, though they falsely promised next-day resolution. The bed was unacceptably hard, and their solution of piling blankets instead of providing a proper mattress topper was inadequate. Basic amenities were subpar: disgusting shower head, non-functional bathtub stopper, stained undersheets, and no proper duvet.
Housekeeping was particularly problematic. Despite their policy of cleaning rooms when keys are returned by 2 PM, my room repeatedly went uncleaned until late evening, with rushed, superficial cleaning and unchanged sheets. Getting fresh towels required constant requests with no guarantee of delivery.
The hotel management was unresponsive to both guests and the booking platform, which struggled to reach them for 48 hours after complaints. While the property has potential, its current state reflects poor management and indifferent service.
It's a run down old hotel that would have been grand back in its heyday. So it's interesting to visit but not to stay.
We booked 6 nights but checked out after 4 as we couldn't handle the stiff hard bed. Our room was only cleaned twice. And the bathroom was small, dark and dirty. All towels are threadbare and some stained.
We didn't even ask for a refund and went and booked somewhere else for our final two nights and much happier.
The photos on website and booking sites look like they're taken 30 years ago and nothing like it is now.
Staff are very friendly and they try but not much they can do. I noticed the owner drives a Porsche so I am sure they can afford to update their mattresses and towels!
A work in progress, as it is an old property undergoing refurbishment. the property exterior is dated, and the refurbishment was evident with painting and upgrades in various parts of the property. The interior of the rooms was great, spacious, and my room had a patio with a walk-in to the pool. Very close to Ao Nang NIght Market, and close to all restaurants, or a short tuk-tuk to all,
Good facilities and very friendly staff. The hotel is very close to a lovely beach and all the shops, eating out places and entertainment places are nearby. It was very cheap compared to the next cheapest place (which was more than 3x the price). Good value for money.
