I would recommend this small and friendly hotel every day. The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We had a problem with the key on our first day, and they couldn't do enough to help us and even gave us a different room, which was stunning to say the least. Rooms and hotel itself was clean and smelt wonderful! New tiles on floors and rooms were decorated in a lovely modern way with a traditional Italian feel to them.

Breakfast was good - a typical buffet breakfast in a European hotel. Again, the staff in the morning were good fun and helpful. And the hot croissants were delicious!!

The location is amazing - right in the centre up a small street. The bustling noise from the street from the room and balcony was lovely. I know some people would like it a bit quieter, but we loved it. The port/harbour was close by and we would down every evening to the front to watch the most amazing sunset that never failed to look stunning.

We booked our own trips out, just went to the port and booked ferry to both Capri and Positano and jumped on train to Pompeii. These were very accessible from the hotel and the staff will always advise you where to go.

All in all, we would definitely return if (and when) we return to Sorrento, it truly was magical with the BEST lemoncello you will try.

Beliggenheten var fin. Både nærhet til gode restauranter, ferje til Amalfikysten/Capri. Litt gange fra bussterminalen, men helt greit. Hyggelig hotell og hyggelige ansatte.

Although the location can’t be faulted, I felt undervalued as a guest here. Our room was too hot( around 25.5 degrees) every day. I was told it was winter and that the facility to cool my room had been turned off. It was suggested I open the windows which I did. It made no difference to the temperature but did mean the nearby noise was even louder. Two of women on reception couldn’t have cared less that it was uncomfortable. Half way through the week I spoke to a young man with a beard on the front desk. He seemed more interested in helping and called the maintenance guy who was also very empathetic and managed to find me a fan. Still too hot however.
Also at breakfast time we found we were banished to the far sides and corners of the dining room. A tour company were using the hotel for the whole week we were there and the central part of the room was reserved for them.
Breakfast was ok but nothing more than that.

Lovely location and authentic Italian style furnishungs

Great room - smallish but perfectly planned, including a lovely balcony; welcoming, friendly and efficient staff who couldn’t do enough to help. Sorrento is an excellent bustling, cultural location. The Hotel Astoria is ideally located in the centre but with a quiet, calm ambience.

4 girlfriends spent 5 nights at this hotel, and we had a fantastic stay. The staff are brilliant and very helpful. The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect right in the centre of the town with bars and restaurants on the doorstep. It's a few minutes' walk to the square and the Marina where you get the boats to various destinations. It's about a 10 minute walk to the railway station for Pompeii Pompeii. The rooms are very clean, the beds are comfortable and the rain shower is lovely. The rooms are so clean the cleaners are in daily with fresh towels. The breakfast has plenty of choices and a massive shout out to Rafael, who is an absolute joy. He made our breakfast experience so much fun. The reception staff are fantastic. I left my purse and didn't realise that until I got to the airport, they kindly transferred the money to my bank account. The cleaners are always cleaning, and nothing is too much trouble.

There's Happy Hour all day, and we were glad of the pool area where we had a relaxing day after a strenuous day in Pompeii and Herculaneum. We went to Capri, which was awesome, and another day visited Positano and Amalfi. I definitely recommend this hotel. You won't regret booking here.

Location to port and old town

We stayed in room 608 and it was the cutest. As soon as you walk in you feel like you’re in the dreamy part of Italy - colorful tile floor in the room and on the walls in the bathroom. I wish they offered slippers since the tile is a little chilly on bare feet. Overall very quiet unless you have a neighbor who doesn’t know how to close the door lol. Central location - we walked everywhere. About 5 min walk to the lift to take you down to beaches and Marina Piccola. Breakfast so-so, depending what you’re used to. We only eat there once and found other places for breakfast.

Location is great, staff is wonderful!

The room was nice, clean. The outdoor noise wasn’t bad. But you could hear everything in your neighbors room. Bathroom, conversation. And upon our arrival after a long day, we were getting settled and ready to shower and a staff member knocked. Before we could answer the door (about 3 seconds), they walked in. I had to run to the bathroom spilling my coffee everywhere as I was preparing to shower. It was locked but not “double locked”, which we were not instructed on. We thought being in our locked room was sufficient.
Otherwise, our room was clean. I wish they had a coffee maker-they had a kettle with instant coffee packets. And you’ll need to request an iron and board, they are not in the rooms. It steps out into the heart of everything which was nice.

Perfect location right In the heart of Sorrento.We requested In advance room 502 [as advised by a previous holiday maker.]and we were'nt dissapointed. The staff were all wonderfull and the cleaners were In Every day so It was clean and comfortable.We had a balcony,perfect for people watching and listening to live music and buskers and you get the sun from about 1pm onwards. At first it was a bit of a maze with 2 lifts and stairs but we worked It out eventually.Breakfast was usual continental,but ok.

I only had a night here, I booked online, the staff are so accommodating and helpful, lovely gardens, our room had everything we needed and a view of the garden, there is a pool but unfortunately the weather changed so I did not get a chance to use it not good for two days but the days following it’s sunny again. Hotel is in such a good area amongst everything without needing transport, it was a very good stay albeit short.

Great location for staying in Sorrento, walkable to the beach clubs, marinas, shopping and restaurants.

Beautiful hotel with the perfect central location, minutes away from the station and the port by walk, has a cute restaurant, daily cleaning, and the style of the whole hotel is so much prettier then what I expected. It looks so much better then on the pictures. Staff is very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend!

Rooms were well appointed and the area was near some of the attractions, beach and ferry.
