Slightly tired communal areas and grounds. Main building better than annexing Villa Principe but that offers good value. Great dining options and very nice ambiance.
The Grand Fasano is undoubtedly a beautiful hotel, but there are several important considerations to be made. Unfortunately, the value for money has become increasingly difficult to justify. Several years ago, a double room with a lake view during the same period cost around €300 per night. Today, for the same room category and time of year, the rate has risen to a staggering €450. What is particularly surprising is that the condition of the rooms has not changed in the slightest: the same amenities, the same furnishings. The increase therefore feels entirely unjustified.
Service quality: The service in the lobby also falls short of what one would expect from a five-star establishment. Waiting times are long: it takes quite a while before someone comes to bring the menu, and just as long to place an order. Moreover, the lobby itself is not especially welcoming.
Unfortunately, the real issue with the hotel lies in its owners / management (the Mayr family). There appears to be little genuine interest in guest feedback, not even from long-standing clients. Suggestions for improvement and complaints are effectively disregarded. They seem to follow their own agenda, and there is a noticeable lack of international experience in managing guest relations. This is a pity, as it ultimately risks eroding the trust of their clientele.
As for the restaurant, Il Fagiano is good, but far from exceptional. Having dined at many Michelin-starred establishments, I can say it does not compare. The menus have not been updated in years, and the prices are decidedly high for what is offered.
Finally, a word of caution for prospective guests: the view over Lake Garda is truly magnificent, but if you book a room without a lake view, be aware that the hotel is located on one of the noisiest roads in the area. It is important to know what to expect.
In summary, this is a hotel that relies heavily on its location and views, but no longer delivers the value or level of guest care one would expect from a property of this category.
GHF is beautiful, elegant, with a relaxed feel much to do with the warm, friendly and helpful staff. Staff is responsive and available. Accommodations are very nice, and housekeeping is wonderful. The property is stunning, and right on the lake. It is meticulously cared for, both outside and inside. Food, and breakfast buffett selections were amazing. Can't say enough about all the staff, with a special "shout out" to Guilia and Stefano, the concierge. Complete perfection.
My family and I just spent four glorious days at Grand Hotel Fasano. This was our second stay and we were beyond excited to return! The property is simply stunning, with fabulous views of Lake Garda. The staff go above and beyond to assist you and are always available to meet your needs. The hotel rooms are very spacious, well-maintained, and accommodating. Each of the restaurants offer a delectable menu, representing the local cuisine. And, the breakfast buffet has a wide variety of dishes to meet everyone’s appetite! We will DEFINITELY return!
