Being in a UNESCO World Heritage site, driving in the historic center of town is restricted, so we parked nearby; a five minutes walk from the hotel. Following the hotel’s directions it was easy to reach using GPS. Check in was quick.
Our room, while not as large as at some other Paradors, was fine. It had that nice old charm one gets when staying at Paradors in historic buildings. Our room overlooked the plaza in front of the hotel. Complimentary bottled water as well as a pot for boiling water for tea or coffee was provided.
The staff couldn’t have been more helpful or friendly. Outstanding stay.
Room was nice.
Restaurant food was simply awful. I expected so much more from a Parador restaurant.
The location and the building were both superb. The room was lovely and the bed really comfortable.
The service at the restaurant, for dinner, was really slow. I understand they were busy/understaffed but 25 minutes without even water on the table, let alone any other drinks, or even some bread and olive oil ( in the home of olive oil!!!) was not acceptable. Only the head waiter could take any orders, we were told, none of the lovely girls working there could, even for water. When mentioned we had been there for nearly half an hour and witnessed people standing up and leaving, he said he wasn't a magician... Good food, when we finally got it, but the service was appalling and badly run.
We enjoyed our visit to this Parador. Friendly staff, clean, spacious & comfortable rooms. The wine & bar food we had at the Parador was good. We also had great tapas at the Taberna de Tintorera. The only negative was that they could have done with another member of staff in the bar.
Rien
