Prachtig verblijf tussen de wijngaarden
Pros:

Prachtige setting tussen de wijngaarden. Prachtig kasteel.

Cons:

Niets

Veel te duur voor een verouderde accommodatie.
Pros:

De omgeving is prachtig. Het kasteel is een parel.

Cons:

Pros:

Locatie is schitterend!

Cons:

Jammer dat we niet buiten konden eten. Achteraf was de " eetzaal" wel best ok.

Beautiful Setting, but No Longer Worth the Five-Star Price
Pros:

The hotel is partly housed in a beautiful château surrounded by vineyards, with peaceful gardens that create a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. The on-site wine tasting center is an excellent addition and well worth a visit.

The recent renovations to the restaurant have been beautifully executed. The elegant design and ambiance of the hotel’s main restaurant are on par with those of a Michelin-starred establishment.

The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout our stay..

A special mention goes to the warm welcome extended to our dog. He was delighted to find treats and a cozy blanket waiting for him in the room—a thoughtful touch that made us all feel truly at home. He definitely approves!

Cons:

Unfortunately, the rest of the hotel could benefit from the same level of care and attention that has clearly been invested in the restaurant. Many of the facilities feel dated and in need of refurbishment, and there was a noticeable smell of sewage in parts of the property. The guest rooms, in particular, would greatly benefit from the same thoughtful renovations that have transformed the dining areas.

The breakfast itself was generous and offered a good variety of options, but the breakfast room is simply too small for the number of guests. As a result, it often felt crowded and detracted from what could otherwise be a very pleasant start to the day.

The swimming pool area was another disappointment. Both the pool and its surroundings appeared tired and lacked the level of maintenance one would expect, with cleanliness also falling below expectations.

Overall, the hotel presents itself—and is priced—as a five-star property, but the facilities unfortunately do not consistently live up to that standard.

The restaurant, despite its beautiful new appearance, also fell short of our expectations. Service was slow and appeared inexperienced, with the notable exception of the sommelier, who was excellent. While the menu was creative and ambitious, the execution in both presentation and flavour did not justify the price. At over €180 per person, the dining experience should be exceptional in every respect. Similarly, the bar menu looked very appealing on paper, but the quality of the food did not match the premium prices being charged.

What makes this particularly disappointing is that this was our third stay at the property over the past six years. During that time, we have watched the prices increase steadily, but unfortunately the quality of the facilities and overall service has not kept pace. We had hoped each visit would reinforce our affection for this hotel, but instead we have left feeling that the value for money has diminished significantly.
