Curiously melancholic check in where we were continually pressed to commit to exact times for breakfast for the next few days. Excellent location and an endless supply of cafes, restaurants etc.
Helena is a brilliant masseuse whose number you will need because the floors are the squeakiest, noisiest I have ever experienced anywhere in the world. Put simply, it is impossible to sleep so if you want to sleep in Pontevedra this is not for you.
They tried to charge us for bottles of water we brought into the building on check out, very naughty, they could have supplied water themselves.
There was also a threatening sign displayed at breakfast effectively saying you would be charged if you were caught taking anything away from breakfast area, never seen that before.
Proper nickel and dime operation.
We stayed here on our Camino pilgrimage. Our "room" was a suite! Best experience on our whole Camino trip. Conveniently located in the city. Clean, spacious, great service. Lovely garden area in the middle of the city.
I liked everything about this property. It’s a beautiful old building with lots of character, very well maintained and in an excellent location. Also very good value for money.
Nothing
Emplacement, personnel, restauration, todo es bien !!!!
Beautiful hotel the rooms were clean and quiet and spacious w AC and TV. The location was near great restaurants and right off the camino walk.
It's not easy to find by car because recently the local council has decided to make the old town centre car-free except for deliveries. This means the hotel has lost all the parking spaces it used to have. Therefore you can dump your luggage at the hotel and drive to a local and inexpensive municipal car park about a five minute walk away. It used to the home of the local baron in the 19th century and it has retained it's period character well. It has a somewhat sombre character and the large rooms are very traditional with period-styled furniture. The bathrooms are clean and well apportioned with bath, bidet and shower. A warning about the bath - you might find some difficulty getting out of the bath due to the lack of hand-hold, so if you are in doubt, stick to the shower. Artwork throughout amplifies the period nature of this hotel. The thing that most impressed me was the restaurant which I have to say serves an excellent evening meal. Breakfast is average. The reception can be a little bit 'clunky' and bureaucratic when it comes to check in and check out. and the wi-fi is a bit hit and miss depending where you are in the building. It gets a 4 in this review because of the excellent restaurant but otherwise, it would have been a 3.
The Parador de Pontevedra is a beautiful historic hotel conveniently located near the center of Pontevedra and directly along the Camino Portuguese, making it a convenient stop for pilgrims. The room was attractive, with beautiful wooden floors that added to the historic charm. However, the floors squeaked quite loudly when walked on. We also wished the room had a larger exterior window. The only window overlooked an interior courtyard, allowing very little natural light into the room.
Compared with other hotels where we stayed along the Camino Portuguese, we felt this hotel was overpriced for what it offered, especially since breakfast was not included. We also found the staff to be less welcoming than at our other accommodations, and communication was difficult because they spoke little or no English. While the historic setting and location are appealing, we would likely choose a different hotel if we return to Pontevedra.

Desayuno regular para el precio.la ducha del baño incómoda y peligrosa el desayuno y el baño no adecuado al precio del alojamiento
Caro y viejo
Everything!
None really except the breakfast buffet was sparse in its offering unlike other places.
La limpieza
El personal, de recepción, muy antipáticos.
Las instalaciones están muy anticuadas
Good location. Historic charm. Cold AC. Friendly staff. Feels fancy.
Bathrooms could use an update. Walk in shower would make a big difference but they were clean and large.
