Good hotel and breakfast, but an embarrassingly poor dinner experience
We had a mixed stay at Parador de Tui. The hotel itself was pleasant, and the breakfast the next morning was genuinely good – fresh, well prepared, and exactly what you would expect from a Parador.
Unfortunately, the dinner in their so‑called restaurant was a completely different story. The staff did not speak a single word of English and showed no willingness to explain the menu or help us understand the options. We were offered the “dish of the day”, only to discover that they had enough for just two people, even though we were four.
The food that was available was far below the standard you would expect, especially considering the high prices. Overall, the experience felt careless and unprofessional, and the value for money was simply not there.
A good hotel and a good breakfast, but the dinner service was so poor that it overshadowed the positive parts of the stay.
Breakfast disappointing. Cooked breakfast cold and had to look for service for a cooked breakfast. Overall expected more from Paradeso but receptionist was very helpful.
I loved the old feel of this hotel. Stone and wood and a carpeted staircase descending to the lobby. The room had lots of character and I enjoyed spending time in it between exploring Valença and Tui. The view from the hotel is beautiful.
I could hear quite a bit of noise from neighbouring rooms at times but not enough to affect my sleep because people seemed to go to bed early.
