DESAYUNO
EN EL RESTAURANTE ESTUVIMOS ESPERANDO 15 MINUTOS A QUE NOS ATENDIERAN Y NADIE SE ACERCO NOS TUVIMOS QUE IR AL PUEBLO A CENAR
It was wonderful
All was wonderful
Terrible Experience with very bad service.
My wife and I stayed at Parador de Siguenza as the last Parador for a trip we have just completed in Spain and it was the only Parador where we had such a bad experience.
We stayed for 3 nights and planned to dine at the Parador de Siguenza for each of the 3 nights but after the first night that didn’t happen.
Our first night was ruined by an elderly lady waitress who quite frankly was rude and raised her voice to repeatedly tell me that I couldn’t pay for our meal at the table but had no choice but to put the bill on the room; I don’t mind being told to do this but the manner in which we were told was loud and rude and she raised her voice to the extent that other diners were looking over at our table therefore making my wife and I uncomfortable and embarrassed.
During our meal we finished our main course and looked at the desert menu ; my wife chose a desert and I asked if I could have an Irish Coffee to which I was bruskly told “ not possible” . However; Irish Coffee is served in the bar which is adjacent the dining room and the dining staff have to get the drinks from the bar but couldn’t get the Irish Coffee… very strange and disappointing.
When my wife and I finished our meal we went into the bar where my wife had a glass of wine and I ordered an Irish Coffee ; however, the Irish Coffee was more of an ice cream and not like other guests we were talking to had received and was delivered to the table rather reluctantly .
On checking in we were given a room overlooking the car park and a building site with large tower crane despite the front of house staff when I asked is it a nice room at high floor level ( as we had requested ) she told us it has a lovely view of the city and the countryside….
Luckily our travel consultant Dean Wilson telephoned the front desk when we contacted him and we were given a room with a balcony following Deans telephone call.
We avoided the dinner evenings after the first night as we felt so let down with restaurant staff being rude.
This was a shame as this Parador was our last one after Parador de Jaen; Parador de Toledo and Parador de Cuenca who all previously gave us fantastic friendly service and made us feel welcome.
Parador de Siguenza was the complete opposite and we did not experience any service that made us feel welcome.
The Parador itself is magnificent and lots of places such as museums and cathedral within walking distance and also walking trails on your doorstep for those who like a walk in the local countryside. There is a large car park on site with a five euro cost so you could easily park up for the day and explore the area and look at the Parador .
We have travelled many different locations worldwide but never received such service from staff that we received at Parador de Siguenza…
Lieu histoire, magnifique chateau .
As usual for Paradors the building and location could not be faulted full of atmosphere and soaked in history if you’re into that sort of thing.
The super deluxe room was advertised with a view which it did have if you managed to peer through the tiny window! Quite a let down to be honest.
The breakfast was pathetic for the price charged, staff were miserable and unhelpful, reception had not heard of tea and looked blankly when we asked for some. Waitresses in the breakfast room were not happy in their work and tried their best to avoid interaction with customers, but we have found this to be par for the course with most Paradors.
Grosses Zimmer, gutes Bett.
Kein netter Empfang, Personal…….
