The was the first Parador we ever stayed at back in 2014. The hotel remains the same and the staff friendly. The huge negative was the construction zone outside our window with workers completely reworking the pool area beginning at 8am each day. I can understand guests being irate when they were expecting a pool and there is none. Even the view to the ocean was obstructed.
Check in was easy and there is free parking, but it can fill up. There are EV charging points.
The room was nothing fancy, but completely adequate. Complimentary water was provided as was a pot for boiling water. There was a do not drink the tap water sticker in the bathroom, so I’m not sure why water glasses were in there.
The breakfast buffet is standard for a Parador, but I’m not a big fan of birds flying into the dining room and walking on tables, napkins, etc.
While the hotel itself was fine until the construction is completed, I’d avoid it.
Location was great. Outside terrace was a bonus.
The pool was under going renovation works. So no pool to enjoy. You couldnt use the communal terrace as the construction site was an eyesore. The gym and the spa were also out of use! There was no apology, not even a free breakfast or bottle of wine, let alone money back. A hotel with no pool or spa is half the price. Disgusting for a hotel of this standard to not address this. We heard 3 couples complain and check out early. Luckily our stay was only for a weekend.
Location good
We were booked into a suite on the ground floor. Our room’s terrace was a few metres away from a large construction site as the hotel were building a new pool and surrounding gardens. Lots of dust and noise. We refused the room and were offered another ground floor suite with similar issues. We refused this room and changed to a smaller double room on a higher floor albeit still overlooking the building site. The hotel should never have tried to sell these rooms and if so have been at a circa 50-75% discount. Very disappointing. Fortunately we only stayed one night. Also hotel restaurant only opened at 8pm.
Wir waren bei unserer Tour durch Andalusien zwei Mal in diesem Hotel. Das erste Mal in einem renovieren Zimmer, das zweite Mal in einem "alten" Zimmer. Doch beide Male waren wir sehr zufrieden.
Aussen wurde den Pool umgebaut, spielte für uns keine Rolle, da es beide Male geregnet hat.
Bedden waren super.

TV not working
Très belle chambre. Très beau cadre et emplacement. Le petit déjeuner était excellent dont le vrai chocolat chaud.
L'accueil et l'attente, le personnel semblait stressé et nous a même pas indiqué les horaires de petit déjeuner.
L'espace vert devant l'hôtel est en travaux c'était dommage pour la vue de la terrasse.

The hotel has a wonderful calmness we like
We booked on January. About the end of March we had an email to say the pool would be closed until about July. We like the hotel so decided to keep the booking. I invited them to think about a discount. Before leaving the hotel I reminded reception of my request. They said the pool does not open til May anyway. I thought their attitude was not gracious.
I noticed that the younger female receptionists have a problem walking. On a number of occasions they were unable to move to show us things. All other staff were very helpful and polite indeed.

Not being told when booking that all the pool area was a building site. That we would be woken at 8am by builders with jack hammers outside our bedroom door.

Pool was under construction but didn’t affect us at all. Was too old to swim anyway.
The location is good and the bar and restaurant staff were very good. The room was large and comfortable.
When we booked not that far ahead we were not told that the swimming pool would be closed for refurbishment, there would be no fitness room and no bar / canteen, only that menu served within a section of the restaurant.
The one meal we had there was appalling, we had to send both meals back as they were cold and undercooked they came back hot but still under-done and we only ate half.
Great location and helpful staff. The extra bed in our room was removed immediately as we didn't need it.
The booking process was not straightforward regarding choice of room. I wanted a room with a double bed. The options were twin beds or a double bed with a 3rd bed in the room.
And, of course, the swimming pool renovation is an issue, affecting noise (though not too much) and traffic (I had to wait 10 minutes for a truck to move out as it was blocking my car). But if there is no pool in the summer, this is bad news.
