A wonderful Parador and a beautiful place.
Todo
Nada
Cleaning women were so warm and welcoming. A lovely lovely man at the desk gave me a toothbrush when I asked where I could buy one. He was the warmest. The place is beautiful and sparkling clean with each piece of furniture and artwork beautiful. I asked for extra blankets because it was cold and he sent it up immediately.
Bed was hard. Some of the staff at the desk in the morning were unhelpful when asked where to eat. And they were unhelpful when asked for help telephoning for us. A certain cold disinterested impersonal response from the women.
Historic Place-excellent ; pretty Gardens and courtyards; many places to Return and read a Book in a quiet Environment
We came to Almagro knowing nothing about this old town with its theatrical background. The Parador is centrally located with plenty of parking and good EV charging.
The rooms have small windows, but that is in line with the fact that it was a convent, and we loved the washbowl built into the wall, and the ceramic tiling, bedside table and seat.
The rooms are on long corridors with a series of courtyards and I actually got lost!
A major drawback was that the beautiful pool, while full, is not open until June. As countries like Spain are getting hotter, why on earth do some (not all) paradors not open their pools once the temperature is over 20? In Jaen not too far away, we swam with other guests in the outdoor pool of a parador, so why not here? Made more disappointing because I had called central reservations who told me the pool was open.
Well, it should be!
But I can't blame the lovely staff for that, and they were very apologetic for something that isn't their fault.
Also, this is a parador where you can have heat until a certain date and then aircon. So although the room was 23 degrees, no aircon yet.
But they did give us a fan which cooled the room.
A particular mention to the hot chocolate that I had in the Bodega. That was real thick chocolate and I strongly recommend it.
Almagro is such a beautiful tranquil parador with trees flowers and quiet, that I want to give 5 stars, but ...that lovely pool going to waste, such a shame

Tolles Hotel in einem alten Kloster - geschmackvoll renoviert. Frühstück und Abendessen waren sehr gut.
Habitación grande y comoda
La tele algo pequeña para el tamaño de la habitación
Parking was good and not too to carry cases
The staff on the whole were friendly and willing to help us with our Spanish
The Parador is very cold and unwelcoming. Even the areas for people to sit are regimented
I would advise to have a superior room as the standard room was very basic, no tea making facilities and the small window overlooked a single tree positioned so close that I could touch the foliage
