Parador de Mérida

Very disappointed the pool, gardens and roof top terraces all closed. So disappointed no where to chill outside in the sun to rest your legs with a cold drink and curl up with a book.
The hotel was well positioned.
I picked this hotel because it was a mid point stop in our 3 week road trip and picked this hotel for the roof terrace and pool to find out they were closed out of season.
I’d not use Expedia again.

As usual this Parador is housed in a lovely old building. There are examples of antiquity all around. The public rooms are comfortable and spacious and the bedrooms have everything one might need. An excellent breakfast is served and there is a dining room for lunch and dinner.

Great breakfast buffet. Very comfortable beds. Shower with suboptimal.

Excellent, quiet location near great restaurants and historic center. Staff was kind and helpful.

The tub was clogged and the didn’t even try to compensate for it.

So lucky to have stayed here for a night. Large room, beautifully furnished.

Le zone comuni sono state recentemente ricondizionate eseguendo un ottimo lavoro, non altrettanto si puo dire per gli arredi, una miscela di vecchie poltrone da mercatino domenicale sfondate e scomode ed alcuni improbabili pezzi moderni.
Le stanze ed in particolare i bagni necessitano di una urgente e radicale riforma. Porte che non si chiudono vasca scomoda e pericolosa, il facino dei Paradores risiede certamente nel loro vecchio stile, ma la funzionalità non puo essere accantonata per questo. Il termosifone del bagno , impossibile da regolare, era a 40 gradi riscaldava il piano dei lavabi come fossa il firno di un calidarium ..alla faccia drlla sostenibilità...

Lovely parador, great location, comfortable room with good view. Excellent parking, although very TIGHT spaces, challenging to use. Good restaurant, although the dinner was a bit unexciting. Congenial service in the restaurant, somewhat cool at the reception. Overall we were pleased, but it was not up to the level of other paradors where we have stayed.

Alojamiento excelente, sobre todo el trato de todo el personal. El restaurante y el desayuno muy buenos. Totalmente recomendable.

Not as charming as other paradores we stayed but still a great staff and good location, construction outside the property wasn’t noisy but did cut into the charm a little bit.

Very nice hotel , convenient for city centre and historic sites . Handy underground parking on site , but quite a hefty charge of 18 euros per night to park our car .

Necesitamos cambiar de días la reserva por alerta naranja de tiempo en la zona y el trayecto, pero no nos dejaron hacer un cambio de fechas pagando la diferencia de precio de los días. Muy mala experiencia.

A lovely parador within easy reach of Merida’s wonderful sites.

A very nice place, a bit thin on breakfast (no eggs without special order). Main issue was multiple entries, which created a problem for the driver who picked us up. If you are taking a train, bus, or renting a vehicle, go for it.

Great Hotel, location brilliant, parking very safe not cheap!

Excellent stay would stay again

Charming Parador that preserved the charms of the it heretage as a Monistary.

Hotel was a convent so an interesting hotel, but required some navigating. Location great for seeing all the Roman ruins. Fair size room but encumbered by a lot of large furniture, but only one chair. Breakfast was not included in our rate and was expensive with poor service.

Enjoyable stay at a very interesting property - converted monastery into a hotel!

Caundo pregunte por el.costo del desayuno buffet al registrarme confirmaron que era $20 euros por dia para dos personas y, al pagar la cuenta dijeron que fue un malentendido y que eran $20 euros por persona. Al final me acreditaron la diferencia pero, necesitan aclararlo muy bien al registrarse
