Pros:

The restaurant and room were great. View of the city is spectacular.

Cons:

Sadly, the experience in the tavern was bad on two consecutive nights. I understand that things are slower in Europe, and in particular in Spain. That said, we were ignored by wait staff and did not receive items that we ordered.

Great view, pity about the bar.
Pros:

This hotel is located on a hill a few miles outside the centre of Toledo and affords breathtaking views of the city from its restaurant and terrace. The city, its many historical and cultural sights as well as its shops, bars and restaurants are easily accessible by taxi, which takes about 15 minutes and costs 10 Euros. The hotel itself is modelled on a medieval convent but was actually built in 1968, so it combines architectural character with modern comforts and amenities. Our room was spacious, light, comfortably furnished and tastefully decorated. It included a large balcony with rattan chairs and a table where we could sit with a glass of cold beer watching the sun set over the city. We also had a view of the swimming pool and gardens. The hotel staff are friendly, helpful, polite and efficient, but never instrusive. We dined in the hotel restaurant on three occasions and the food was as consistently excellent as the service. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay in this memorable hotel and we would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

Cons:

Even though the weather was excellent with temperatures in the mid 30sC, the swimming pool remained closed and the sun loungers inaccessible throughout our stay. Apparently summer does not start until early June in Spain, whatever the weather! More irritating still were the bar arrangements. There was a huge outside terrace, with just six small tables, which overlooked the city skyline. Unless you were lucky enough to occupy one of these tables (always in demand), you could not get a drink on the terrace. You weren't even allowed to buy a drink at the bar and then take it outside yourself. This rule was more irritating than efficacious and simply generated resentment and frustration. Finally, the hotel's distance from the city and its amenities inevitably discouraged us from booking dinner in one or more of its many excellent restaurants - inertia prevailed and the hotel's restaurant became our default position. Mind you, that was no hardship!

Vista maravilhosa
Pros:

Da vista da cidade. O Hotel fica no alto e você tem uma bela visão de Toledo.

Cons:

Não é uma crítica. Mas justamente por estar fora da cidade o que proporciona a bela vista, você precisa de carro ou taxi para ir até a cidade.

We will definitely go back to the Parador hôtel in Toledo and will recommend it .
Pros:

Stunning view of Toledo from the Parador , nice friendly Welcome from Laura ( ?) on the evening of the 17th of May .
Big room, carpet in the hall should be changed.
Nice bar with beautiful view. Restaurant could be more friendly but also nice view when you manage to get there on time to seat by the windows . interesting menu and wines. Dinner should start earlier than 8.30pm

Standards seem to have slipped
Pros:

Restaurant was good for an evening meal, and the staff were excellent. Parking is easy and plentiful.

Cons:

Front desk staff were miserable and didn't acknowledge/greet customers who entered an empty hotel lobby. They kept their heads down and avoided having to greet residents. This happened every time we entered the hotel. Although there were plenty of staff in the bar, they didn't seem very interested in serving the customers, and stood in a group. This was our experience on 3 separate occasions. Breakfast arrangements were a shambles, and the server got our order wrong 3 times. When it did arrive, it was cold. I have stayed here before, and had a great stay, but I think that there is a systemic issue with staff attitude, and we have cancelled a future stay on that basis. I expect more from Parador. Also, the pool area was closed. We left a day early as a result of all this, and there was no inquiry as to why from front desk staff.

We loved Toledo and if we go back our first choice hotel would be The Parador
Pros:

We chose the Parador after reading positive reviews.
We knew the views of Toledo would be spectacular from the hotel.
The breakfasts and food at dinner were very good.

Cons:

Perhaps a complimentary shuttle bus to the town centre would have been a bonus.
We used taxis to and from the hotel to the Toledo sites.
The taxis were prompt when reception called them for us and the cost was not high at 10-12 Euros
