Value for money

The top car park is easily filled especially when vans use them. Obviously these spaces are are fist come first served but to me, it would make sense for any larger vehicles to use the lower car park.

There’s no lift (which wasn’t a problem for me as I can carry my suitcase, but other people might well take that into account) and it isn’t very well soundproofed.

Quite tired and grubby inside in the communial areas. Our bedroom window frame had complete rotted out, collapsed and would not shut properly. We were too scared to try and close it incase the whole thing fell out!

Room needed updating. . Bathroom tiles dirty, shower pressure non existent, dirty, old shower curtain. Chair in bedroom had large stain on the seat?? Bed very uncomfortable.

Vreselijk slecht voor de prijs/kwaliteit verhouding. Een klein en slecht bed, gedateerde kamer, smoezelige badkamer, en het eten was niet lekker. Bij het ontbijt moest je je aanmelden, hebben een tijd staan wachten tot er iemand kwam. Er kwam niemand dus dachten we, dan gaan we maar alvast zitten en betalen we nadien bij het uitchecken. Er kwam een personeelslid op ons afgestormd en nog voor we gekookt water konden pakken voor thee, moesten we afrekenen. Onvriendelijk!

Room #1, the accessible room, needs new painting. And it is noisy. A strip under the door may help to reduce the noise.

Very disappointing stay – serious room and cleanliness issues

Unfortunately, our stay at The Moorings Hotel was very disappointing.

1. The room door would not lock properly. We reported this to reception immediately after checking in. The receptionist said someone would come and fix it, but nobody came.
2. We had to slam/close the door around 20–25 times before it would finally lock.
3. On the second day, I went out and returned to find that the room door was unlocked/open, which was extremely concerning from a security point of view.
4. The room was not properly clean and the overall condition felt poorly maintained.
5. In the bathroom, the toilet roll holder was broken. Given the condition of the bathroom, we were also left wondering whether someone had entered the room.
6. Overall, the hotel and furnishings look very old and in need of significant maintenance and refurbishment.
7. On the second night, we reported the door problem again. This time, reception moved us to another room. However, the replacement room was smaller, including a smaller bathroom, which did not feel like a satisfactory solution.
8. There was also a very unpleasant smell throughout the hotel, which made the stay uncomfortable.
9. Even the toilet near the restaurant was extremely dirty and had no soap, which is unacceptable for a hotel.

The only positive aspect was the location. The hotel is in a beautiful area, with a good location outside Fort William, approximately 5–6 miles away.

Unfortunately, the location alone could not make up for the security concerns, cleanliness issues, unpleasant smell and poor maintenance we experienced. Based on our stay, I would not recommend this hotel unless these issues are addressed.

A lot of money is needed to get this hotel out of another decade, a lot of the furniture and carpets are “tired”. Expected a room with a view( looking at the photos on the internet). Electrical tagging was out of date .

Much of the hotel is tired and needs refurbishing. The bedrooms and beds are quite old which impacts the comfort level. Bathrooms are very old fashioned and in need of upgrading. The staff varied with some being very pleasant and helpful to others being cold, sharp and unhelpful.

Alles ist in die Jahre gekommen, müsste dringend renoviert werden. Im Bad Schimmel am Fenster, aus der Dusche kommt minimal warmes Wasser. Das Restaurant im neuen Anbau ist Ok
