Camera molto piccola e non molto pulita, la moquette meriterebbe di essere sostituita, così come gli ascigumani molto usurati. Il bagno assolutamente da rinnovare, con tinteggiatura scrostata e macchie di umido. In generale la struttura mostra i segni del tempo, meriterebbe un po' di cura in più e uno svecchiamento di arredi e finiture.
Sul foglio del check in era indicata un'altra camera, più grande e con un bagno più nuovo, ma il numero e stato modificato in seguito alla prenotazione e ci è capitata una camera in condizioni sicuramente peggiori

Really nice friendly staff, room was really comfortable and well presented, food was excellent and good value and big portions, good location, a short 15 mind drive to gills bay ferry if going over to the Orkney islands and maybe 30 mins drive to John o' groats

The staff were really friendly, the check in was the friendliest I had in my week of travelling around Scotland. The breakfast was great and the room was perfect for what I needed it for.
The hotel is very well situated for people doing the NC500. Though there is not much in Castletown, from the hotel you are not too far a drive from some great attractions.
Dinner was great with a wide range of options and large portion sizes. Breakfast buffet was also very good with a wide enough selection for various dietary needs. I especially enjoyed that there were fresh berries.
In terms of the room itself, we booked a room with a double bed, and we were pleasantly surprised that the bed was actually king or maybe even super king sized.
Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
There were no available parking spaces when we arrived, as 3-4 of the spaces were taken by a coach bus. We ended up parking on a nearby street which was fortunately fine and still very close to the hotel.
Stayed here before. Staff are lovely and helpful. Food is amazing. Room this time was a bit small compared with before but still very comfortable

Siamo stati dirottati nel Pentland Hotel a Thurso il giorno prima dell' arrivo. Ci hanno assegnato una stanza molto fatiscente, piccola e sporca. La vasca in bagno era rotta e con la tenda. Gli asciugamani logori e le lenzuola ingiallite e consunte. Colazione scarsa per mancanza di prodotti.
