We love staying here when we travel across to Orkney. The staff are so friendly and the rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable. The food is delicious. The little touches in the dog friendly rooms are a delight!
There was nothing to dislike
Castle town hotel contacted on my day of arrival to ask if I’d change to a sister Hotel the Norseman in Wick.
So this review is really for the Norseman hotel which was really quite tired and need a refresh or upgrade to modern hotel standards. Everything was really dated.
After the previous night in a Marriot which was significantly cheaper, the Norseman which was a let down.
The only saving grace was a good breakfast in the morning otherwise I couldn’t wait to get away.
Whole hotel is extremely tired. Seriously need modernising as it’s all worn out.
We were advised the morning of our stay that we had to change hotels as we were the only booking for the 2 nights. This was inconvenient but understand the reasons.
As above
[ ] large room(superior)
[ ] large bathroom
[ ] bathsheets (not towels)
[ ] Brilliant meal / steak evening ... best ribeye in the UK to date
[ ] ample parking off street behind the hotel
[ ] easy and friendly checkin
[ ] locals bar / Pub and walked into a locals jamming session and made new friends
Nothing to not like.
It was very warm and welcoming
Nothing
A komp kikötőhöz közel kerestünk szállást. Ez a hely 15 perc autóútra található Srabstertől, remek választás ebből a szempontból. A reggelihez első osztályú gyümölcstálat kínáltak, friss gyümölcsökkel. Este lehetett asztal foglalni vacsorához, jó a konyha. A személyzet is kedves, jó humorú.
A szoba mérete éppen csak meghaladta az ágy méretét, a bőrönd kinyitása már komoly logisztikai előkészületeket igényel, és a fürdőben is óvatosan lehet megfordulni.
The staff were so kind, helpful and cheery! The location was great as we were so close to the ferry terminal for the Orkney islands. The breakfast was great; especially the sausages and hash browns! The room was really clean!
The room was a bit outdated and some of the paintwork was chipped. The bed was not comfortable at all and the springs creaked every time we moved. I don’t know if that’s just the room that we booked as the rooms on the other side of the building looked somewhat nicer.
The buffet breakfast was very good, As was the dinners. I had to have my dinners in my room as my dog would have begged for food in the dining hall. It was my first good nights sleep in 4 days as I had been camping previously and I booked Castletown hotel as it was dog friendly.
Staff very friendly and helpful and I was easily
able to change from a Twin room to a Double room and they were very welcoming of me having a large dog. 😀
