Children between the ages of 6 & 16 are able to use the swimming pool at restricted times and must always be accompanied by an adult. The restricted times are 10:00 - 12 noon & 14:00 - 16:45.

Spa use is included on your arrival day for guests enjoying a bed and breakfast, or dinner bed and breakfast package. Spa use is not included at any time when booking a room only rate

Please note, guests who book the dinner, bed & breakfast rate category will enjoy a GBP 49 food allowance per person from our menu in the Hotel Restaurant.

Pros:

The staff, the service and the public areas of the Hotel where absolutely perfect

Cons:

We had a room at the emd of a corridor and in the corridor there was door that had the squeakiest hinges and up to 3.30am constantly could heard clearly from our bed. Also the flush in room 320 would carrying on filling up for at least 45 minutes after flushing and would keep us awake.

Excellent Christmas break, amazing staff.
Pros:

The staff are all amazing. Nothing too much trouble. The spa is fabulous. The food offerings are excellent - breakfasts, lunch and dinner. Great bar atmosphere.

Cons:

We booked the Penthouse Suite which was very spacious but the heating wasn’t adequate. We were cold and there were no instructions for increasing the temperature or getting heat through the air con unit. We did speak to reception but as it was Christmas, nothing could be done. We just used the blanket off the bed.

Pros:

Lovely one night stay at thornton hall. The breakfast was lovely and the manager went above and beyond to cater for my allergy. Room was very luxurious and comfortable.

Cons:

We were very disappointed that the use of the spa wasnt included in the £380 we had paid for one night. We had to pay an extra £50pp to use the spa and an extra £8.50pp for robes!

Great place for a function or when visitng family
Pros:

Excellent hotel with lovely staff. Food is very good. Rooms can be quite a walk down corridors.

Cons:

You cant use the spa or pool on day of check out. They are very strict about this and its a shame as its such a lovely pool!

Three star accommodation at 5 star price.
Pros:

Room decor was nice! Reception staff were friendly.

Cons:

The hotel is run for the convenience of the hotel and not the guests. Very odd policy of not being allowed to use the spa facilities the morning before you check out, yet you’re still on the premises. You’re only allowed to use the spa on the day of arrival. Check-in is 3pm, so you have a very small window to use the spa if you have something on in the evening! Tbf you are informed about this on arrival, but it doesn’t make the guest unfriendly policy any more palatable.
Breakfast was copious but average quality, not helped by there not being any fresh coffee or tea available. It’s from a machine! Fine if you’re staying at a budget hotel, but given the cost of the room, it should be better.
Food in the bar is way, way overpriced. Laughable cost for an open, limp sandwich!
