Bathroom was awful. Long dark hair in bath; grime all around the bath; mould on taps and tiles. Glass window panels had paint on them and paint splashed on floor and radiator. Bedroom window panels big streakes of paint; dirty on paintwork and an ancient dead wasp. Definitely not 4 star. Very disappointed. Positives: friendly staff and nice lounge area
Great staff and Spa facp
Super clean room, was nicely designed & a warm welcome.
Had dinner at the restaurant which unfortunately the service wasn’t great really slow & forgot one of our parties meal & drinks order (I would understand if it was super busy but it wasn’t) but they were friendly in general couldn’t fault that. The hotel was lovely giving really cosy vibes & the receptionist was lovely. Would recommend & the surrounding area is really nice for walks.

Cancelled my bookings a couple of hours prior to check-in
Have to wait upto 7 days for a refund
Same room back online available straight away
Very poor
The management and staff were very caring and helpful. The chef prepared excellent soups each day!
The room and dining room were acceptable, however both areas need attention to detail with regard to cleaning
We had a really nice stay. Food very good. Staff very friendly. The only thing psrking st ti.es was very busy with people parking for thr gym. My hubby has poor mobility and hotel guests using didable bays. We had to park right over the other side of the car park. Other than that a lovely stay
Great stay but room and corridors were seriously overheated in the cottage accommodation
This was our third visit to this (very nearly perfect) hotel with just a few details that need attention:
Please get some decent loo paper, the thin and mean stuff in your bathrooms is admittedly a step up from Izal, but not very nice.
Please stop covering all your cooked breakfast items in black pepper - I hate it and had to scrape a lot
The Crown Hotel is nestled in a quiet community near Carlisle. It is located near a train station but also has a parking area (spaces are a bit tight, designed for small cars but filled with larger cars). There is access to a private gym/fitness center on site. There is a lovely garden with seating. The morning breakfast is quite nice with many options. We stayed three nights while we explored Carlisle, Hadrian's Wall and the Lake District. Also, there is a nearby footpath that takes you along the Eden River to Constantine's Cell/Wetheral Caves which made for a lovely morning walk.
Fab little find. Comfy and welcoming
Staff were all lovely and attentive. Bed was comfortable. Great selection of delicious food for breakfast. Nice pool and leisure area.
Nice friendly staff.
No one slept a wink a generator was on all night.
Lovely hotel in a beautiful village with great staff, the pool and leisure facilities are good also. It definitely needs a public bar that is open - I went to enter the Events bar but door was locked..
Great hotel, and the fact that you can use the leisure facilities for free when staying is an absolute bonus. We couldn’t fault it the staff were amazing, definite place to stay.
All the staff are really lovely. Happy, helpful and competent.
Staff were lovely. Did not like dogs in dining room especially when they had a barking contest. Would go back yes.
Fantastic team who made me feel really welcome. Accommodating to my requirements and a great breakfast. I will happily book here again
Friendly staff with excellent breakfast and pool facilities.
Best hotel stay during my trip to Scotland. This was my second time at this hotel. I reserved the same room and they obliged me. I’m a cancer patient and they suggested room service for breakfast and they delivered with professional courtesy.
Enjoyed the hotel and restaurant but the emails I had sent confirming a 7.30 dinner in the conservatory restaurant hadn’t been taken into account. Luckily the waitress found us a table but a point for admin to note
