An extremely expensive treat to stay here plus another Euros 21 to park the car overnight.
Staff do not speak or understand English and we believe that they are "in a job for life" as Paradors are State owned and managed. There was no Resturant whihc is highly unusual for Paradoprs (we have stayed in many of them in the past) AND the Resturants in Old Town Hondarribia had also closed down permanently.
We attempted to find something to eat at dinner-time in the attached Caffeteria but there was nothing much available as it is also "open to the public" who wander around as in a Museum.
Classic historic building conversion in centre of old town. Comprehensive breakfast selection typical of Paradores
Absence of a restaurant. Only two options open in the old town on a Sunday night. We must have chosen the poorest as all dishes bar the salad were not good.
Loved staying here. There was a very slight complication which receptionist Raphael dealt with expertly and graciously. It could not have been attended to any more efficiently.
I heartily recommend this lovely place and it’s excellent staff. Everybody is helpful and pleasant, making our stay very enjoyable.
We stayed here for a week with a group from Great Rail Journeys.Started in the 10th century the parador is coverted to show all the historic features and provide comfortable rooms with fantastic views across the estuary to Hendaye which is in France close to San Sebastian and Bilbao Also ideal for exploring the Basque region
Karakteristiek hotel in het midden van het plaatsje met parkeergelegenheid. Het personeel was vriendelijk en het ontbijt heel goed.
Ik kan zo niets bedenken.
The site and it's location
The fact that there is no restaurant
La beauté !
Les travaux à 8h30 du matin..
Modern rooms set in an ancient castle. We are so impressed that we will visit other paradores on future visits to Spain.
El edificio, la habitación, el desayuno.
Muy caro.
La ubicación
Quizá las camas podrías ser un poco más nuevas
Location in old town
Parking was an issue ,not made clear when booking that streets were very narrow,we were in a camper van znd could not get near hotel
Nous avons été surclassé la chambre et il était très accueillant.
Petit dernier était très satisfait.
Wunderschön gelegene Ritterburg mit Blick auf den Hafen. Viele Restaurants/Bars fussläufig, sehr gutes Frühstück
Langer Check-in
El edificio, el personal y la ubicación
Como en muchos paradores, las habitaciones necesitan una reforma profunda. Están viejunas y mal mantenidas
View of the harbour, the boats, tides and nearby France are wonderful.
The staff is doing an adequate job of making the customer appreciated but are far from "wowing" the customer. There's a real opportunity to keep growing towards a feeling of "ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen." The property and the Parador brand deserve it.
