Le cadre
Le petit déjeuner est sublime et le personnel adorable
Hélas le spa etait fermé
Beautiful property in a great location- we have visited before and may well visit again. All of the staff were terrific and the new sommelier / head of the restaurant ( Vincent?) was helpful , charming and very engaging - really helped the experience .
We arrived in early February and the hotel had only been open for two days for the season. So still coming up to speed I suspect .
We stayed here 40-years ago for our Honeymoon, and came back for our 40th Anniversary. The Staff was mostly AWESOME, particularly Sophie and the Tall Dark Haired gal at reception when we checked in and Lucia. Our issue is mostly facility related, but there were some issues that were staff related.
When we checked in, the room we were booked in (#16) had multiple issues. The toilet didn't work, the bedroom TV didn't work, and the shower only had cold water. The next day we were told the Maintenance Staff would be right up to fix it, and an hour and a half later I had to go down to see what was keeping them. They eventually showed up, but weren't able to fix any of it, even though they said it was fixed. The room they moved us to (#27) had only cold water in the shower and the Hot Tub water would only fill with scalding hot water, that we couldn't even get in because it was so hot. Raul (apparently the director or General Manager) personally came to our room and couldn't fix it either. Also, there are no directions on how to use the room phones to call the Front Desk. I went down to ask about that, and there was a guy sitting there that said he was new, and didn't know either. In the original room (#16) there is a very steep and narrow stairway (6-7 steps) to the bathroom from the bedroom. No handrail makes it very dangerous when negotiating it in the dark in the middle of the night if you have to use the toilet. And finally, the last morning we had scheduled two 90-minute massages for my wife and I, at 10:30 AM. We showed up at the front desk at 10:28 AM, and were told by Nico that we could have breakfast or a cup of coffee, as there was no hurry. That seemed odd, but we sat down in the dining room for 15 minutes and had coffee. Then all of a sudden Nico showed up saying that we had to get going because the 2 massage therapists had a tight schedule. Wow, that was exactly the opposite of what we were told when we arrived...ON TIME...for our massages! Then, after we had enjoyed just 40-minutes of our scheduled 90-minute massages, the two therapists said they were done, and had to get to their next appointment. UNREAL!!!
Great historical place and comfortable room
Very slow service in restaurant
Setting
Very poor food quality not 5 star, worst food in France in 40 days
Il y avait des odeurs de canalisation dans la chambre, la porte fenêtre de la chambre et la terrasse n’étaient pas nettoyées. Pb d’insonorisation des chambres.
Good room
Grand old building
Heating in room inefficient
Meal portion size very mean
Mouai
Confort de la chambre. Excellent matelas.
Magnifique parc. Sûrement très agréable en été.
Un peu déçus par le dîner. Entrée et dessert pas très bien maîtrisés.
Choix de champagne au verre insuffisant. Pas de brut nature/zéro dosage. Champagne maison dépourvu de personnalité.
Deux céréales avec chocolat au petit déjeuner. Rien pour « adultes ». Surprenant!
