If you’re looking for a peaceful and pleasant experience, here you are !
Exzellentes Restaurant, traumhafte Ansicht.
Staff and welcome lovely.
Room modern and comfortably furnished but only a bath, no shower, and hot water took forever to come through.
The restaurant for the Chateau was in the Mill, a good walk on a steep hill from the Chateau where we were staying. I think the Mill also has rooms but we were unaware of this, at least we had no idea that the two buildings were separate.
However, the ambience was delightful and if you like walking, you're in beautiful countryside.
Dirty bathroom. No tea making facilities in the room. No quality toiletries available. Nice building from the outside and good view from the window.
The hotel was in a great location and was an old watermill. The staff were really fresnel you and helpful - but always appeared to be rushing (think Faulty Towers). We booked a twin but they had not prepared this and were made to change rooms before dinner (we arrived late). Our first room smelt musty and had seen beer days, our second was marginally better but still not 4 start. The food was exceptional and I think this has given the ratings my that it has but the hotel needs an overhaul in terms of decor - it's trying to be shabby sheik .... Without the sheik.
The hotel is in a beautiful and tranquil rural setting. But it is very difficult to find using the directions provided. It's an old hotel full of rustic charm, however, we were house in an annex across the street which was somewhat ditapidated and isolated, and made us feel quite unwelcome - the main part of the hotel was not full. The room was large and reasonably furnished - the bed was not! The sheets were cheap and nasty and the blanket on the bed was akin to a horse blanket which had just been removed from the horse. There was a refrigerator sitting randomly in the bedroom. There was no hospitality tray or any means of getting tea/coffee. Would not stay there again or recommend it to others.
Stayed overnight for a family party nearby. We found the hotel setting charming and the room comfortable with a proper bathtub as well as a shower. We didn't have dinner there but breakfast was superb.
Excellent service and very courteous! Will come again and highly recommend
We found it hard to find as the map location is for a spa and a giant "private" sign is where we were expected to go.. Through the spa, which has a different name.
The rooms are in a castle, not in the mill! Beautiful and huge rooms, lovely view, with a great walk around the grounds.
The restaurant is down a steep hill into the village, and it is excellent! We were treated really well and given a huge selection of wines which we thoughally enjoyed. Also the good is wonderful.
We expected to stay in the Chateau - it was not made clear when we booked that we were reserving the mill accommodation not the Chateau despite no difference in price. The room was VERY DARK although the decoration was high quality - fabric wall paper. Bathroom old fashioned but in keeping with the style BUT The shower was part of the bath and you could only have the shower head at chest height. Food in the dining room was of good quality but expensive and not as good value as another restaurant in a nearby town serving Michelin star quality food. Disappointed really as we were expecting this to be the best all round hotel of our trip = it was not.
Arrived for an overnight stay late afternoon and were taken to 2 rooms that were apparently not ready as beds had not been made up so offered choice of 2 adjacent rooms in the grounds. Comfortable rooms which were very large although rather dated in decor. Dined in the restaurant and were very pleased with our choices of courses as we were with breakfast the following day. Unable to connect to the advertised wi-fi.
We were delighted with the accomodation and the delightfully unspoilt sixteenth century village. we were only disappointed with the (very) wet weather for which we cannot hold you responsible !!
Amazing place to stay, hotel building is beautiful as well as the surrounding chateauxs. Peaceful with great little walks to take in the rural countryside.
Restaurant within the hotel is superb; food, wine and service was exquisite.
