Perfect weekend break...amazing good!
Pros:

Amazing weekend. From when we arrived everything was perfect. Some really nice touches were offered such as a welcome drink and Pink cava with dinner. The room had a huge terrace with loungers, table and chairs. We had dinner included and the options offered were amazing..delicious. Breakfast was varied and one recommendation would be to offer more hot options as at times It was quite limited. The staff were a credit to the hotel.. everyone was amazing. Special thanks to Sofía who was always smiley and looked after us seamlessly. I cant remember the other waiters name but he was very profesional too. We cant wait to have the opportunity to visit again soon!!!

Such a quiet relaxing space an oasis of calm
Pros:

A quiet calming hotel which gave us a base from which to explore Calpe. We found the hotel staff amazingly attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We left totally refreshed from our stay.Breakfast was good but we would have liked a little more variety. Looking forward to returning to stay once the refurb is complete

Worst hotel room
Pros:

Unbelievably, it’s probably the worst hotel room we have stayed in. The rooms allocated to us were barely a 3*. So many faults with the rooms. We managed to get 1 room reallocated as we requested or could have moved to one of their sister hotels but 3rd day in to a 5 night sat didn’t bother. Breakfast is a bit of a farce. Minimal like warm cooked food ie eggs and sausage. No cereals at all?? Ok if you like pastries n continental breakfast. Not worth the price we paid. Pool area nice but no bar open- very quiet n never fathomed out how to get a drink. Nice Nespresso coffee machine in room but only ever had the 3 capsules allocated in it on arrival - never replenished. Rooms were shabby with skirtings boards damaged, bathroom door tatty as looked as if had water damage and never repaired. Blackout curtains hanging off. I could go on but far too many points. Staff were lovely and helpful and I guess they are working their best in the circumstances. Nice reception and restaurant appearance’s but never eat in the restaurants at night as breakfast put us off. Major building works all in Calpe and had a wonderful view of about 6 tower cranes from our balcony on the front of the hotel, balcony was tatty and needed refreshing. Staff were understanding of our complaint and we got an hour in the Spa complementary which was nice. We are quite flexible when travelling but unfortunately thus hotel was not for us and certainly not worth what we paid for it

Never again
Pros:

First and last time staying here. Will start with the positives: a few of the members of staff went above and beyond, were compassionate and did their best to sort queries, and the pool area was pleasant (ignoring the hair around the broken parasol and the leaves in the pool that weren’t cleaned out). Other than that, nothing. Nowhere near a 4 star hotel, they are dreaming.
Starting with the room. I first got a room with stairs, you walk into the room and immediately there’re stairs, we were not made aware of this and you would be stuffed if you had accessibility problems. The doors to the rooms do not close properly on their own. All of the furniture and skirting boards are chewed up, chipped or blown due to damp. No table to store the suitcase on, and the chair was filthy, covered with marks and bits. Then the ‘balcony’ was some steps going down to a small patio surrounded by a high wall, with air conditioning units and the back of the restaurant as a view.
So I asked to move rooms and was able to. The next room was no better. Again, the door wouldn’t shut, furniture chewed, etc. No hairdryer in the bathroom, just the holes where there was one originally, black mould around the bath and green looking marks on the ceiling. Thought oh this is nice there is a window in the bathroom, opened it and found it opened out onto the neighbouring rooms balcony! Two of the lamps weren’t working in the room, socket on only one side of bed. Orange ceiling light that wouldn’t switch off and was really bright so didn’t get any sleep. The fridge was full of marks, as was all of the paintwork on the balcony. Wiped the table on the balcony after having some food and it was filthy, as was were the chairs. Hairs stuck under the door frames as if they’re just pushed around. I could go on.
Next: breakfast. The first day there was a jar of corn flakes as a cereal, then no cereal for the rest of the holiday, yet 4 jars of nuts. Sometimes eggs and bacon, sometimes not, all kept under a warm light that did little to keep it warm. Artfully arranged shop bought croissants to make something out of nothing. Had to ask for black tea bags everyday, the hot water machine was also for coffee so everything tasted of coffee, wasn’t working on one day either. Ended up bringing my own breakfast from a shop.
Overall, the worst hotel I have stayed in. You get to a point where you can’t ask for anything else to be rectified and give up. Never in a million years a 4 ⭐️, 2 or 3 at a push.

Recommend the restaurant. An excellent experience
Pros:

The hotel was a very good four star and had all the amenities that are required including a lift, our room was very pleasant and a good size and to a four star standard, however on top of that a special note should be made of the staff and the food as both were excellent.
Although there is a Mitchelin Star fine dining restaurant which looked first class we went to the hotel restaurant and had a wonderful meal. We were told they shared the same Executive Chef and it showed. Would certainly recommend you give either restaurant a try depending on your pocket.

Calpe Cookbook stay
Pros:

The hotel was so clean and comfortable. The staff were wonderful. So helpful. Drinks were slightly expensive but were brought out to you. Breakfast was ok, but the egg station was under a warm light and therefore not so freshly made. But all in all excellent value and would use again without hesitation. Special mention for Simone, who seemed to have a massive remit

An Amazing Hotel
Pros:

We stayed for 3 nights this month. I can honestly say this is one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in. Fantastic staff who were always ready to help, brilliant food in Komfort Restaurant and set in a beautiful, quiet location. Highly recommended and we will definitely return.

Amazing Stay and Great food
Pros:

We had a fabulous 2 days here to celebrate New Years. Lovely friendly hotel. The restaurants were amazing. Brad the chef in Komfort was brilliant with us as we had an issue with the HB options. He was the solution master. Food was brilliant after he created 4 courses for us. A big call out to Anibop, he made our stay what it was, welcoming and excellent. Anibop and his team Alesandro, Paul and Moured were first class on the service. Nothing was too much trouble. We had New Year’s Eve at Beat restaurant which was stunning Michelin star food. Sommelier was great on the evening. Highly recommend this place if you want small and friendly with outstanding food on offer

What a find!
Pros:

It was quite sad to see 2 recent not very good ratings about this hotel. I stayed here with my friend 14-19th October and WOW! The breakfast was very good, the hotel itself is lovely, yes there were a couple of minor issues in the room, but this was outweighed by the superb friendly staff, who could not do enough to help you. We ate in BEAT one night and the food was amazing. The pool was a bit chilly (only one way in!) but so peaceful with no poolside music or activities. We loved it and would highly recommend and will look forward to returning there in the future. Thank you for a memorable stay. Oh just one small thing! please could you put kettles in the room as well as coffee machines? We love a cup of tea first thing in the morning.

Avoid
Pros:

This was short weekend visit , luckily not my holiday, visiting friends , otherwise I would be even more disappointed it.
Beds - very hard (make sure you ask for toppers on arrival)
Bathrooms - bath full or rust, old mouldy filler around bath, all the accessories in bathroom covered with grease and dust (assuming sunblock spray never cleaned), clearly not cleaned in ages.
Floors are never washed in the room during stay so you get black feet walking around from the dust
Balcony is not nice, the top of your balcony wall, soooo dirty. Old sunbeds, not comfortable.
Zero privacy on the balcony , you can just look at each other as the tiny bit of glass does nothing.
Breakfast total shocker, I never ever been anywhere where they cannot make an omelette.
Its only continental breakfast with option of eggs . Went for cheese and tomato omelette. I have travelled a lot in my life all over the world, but hands down, this was the worst omelette . It was overcooked, dry and the cheese was hard lump of cheese in the middle, which is not suitable for omelette at all as does not melt, and large slice of tomato in the middle, what chef would even let this leave the kitchen??
Turns out there is no chef there at breakfast but your waiter will cook your omelette.
I had one bite and left it, the waiter asked me what is wrong, and I have told him is not good. He then went and cooked my another one ,despite me telling him NO.
His Words "give me another chance, I am not a chef"
Believe you me I know he was not a chef after the 1st one ,and the 2nd one was as bad.
Is not his fault but the management, who gets waiters to cook your breakfast ?? surely not any reputable hotel???
The staff was polite overall and friendly but would not stay there even if you pay me.
So for £400 for 3 nights , complete disappointment.

Half board hoodwink.
Pros:

The nearest the chef had been to the boasted Michelin was probably changing a tyre. DONT consider the HB option it's a sham. I could expand ......

We would definitely recommend this hotel
Pros:

We spent a lovely week in the Cook Book hotel. The staff are top class ! We were brought to our room by Miguel carrying 2 cold beers for us. Paul gave us directions to anywhere in town. Queque lent us his cork screw. And Anabal rang before we even left home to check if we had any requests. I had a lovely massage from Gemma. The food was really good.

Bien en general
Pros:

El hotel esta bien en general, pero falta hacer una reforma en consonancia al restaurante. Cuando vas a un restaurante asi, esperas diseño y todo bien cuidado en habitaciones.
