Piscine et hôtel
Pas de climatisation fonctionnelle (installée mais pas en service) alors que la température le soir était assez élevée
Schöne Aussicht, gratis Parkplätze, leckerer Kaffee, schön gestalteter Eingangsbereich/Lounge, Frühstück war für ein 3 Sterne Hotel in Ordnung. Sie kamen mir mit meinen vier kleinen Hunden preislich entgegen.
Zimmer roch sehr unangenehm, es war sehr ringhörig (wieso platziert man die Familie mit Kleinkindern im obersten Stock?), Lüften war schwierig da viele Insekten und kein Fliegen Gitter. Zum Glück war es nicht so heiss: Weder Klimaanlage noch Ventilator. Bettwäsche ungebügelt (das geht meiner Meinung gar nicht in einem Hotel, egal wie wenig Sterne!), niemand vom Personal sprach Deutsch.
The location was nice, not too far from public transport and accessible with a car. It was a nice quite place and you can get a room with a nice view when you're lucky.
The breakfast was average. The soundproofing could be better.

Hotel Berghof Amaranth is excellent value for money, no doubt. BUT, remember—it is on a hill! 😄
If you're arriving with luggage, the easiest way is Bus 105 toward "Wilderswil, Lehngasse". Get off at Lehngasse, and then comes the real challenge: about a 5-minute uphill walk which, with luggage, somehow feels like 105 minutes! But once you're inside, forget all that. It's all about nature, peace and beautiful views.
The welcome was warm, and after paying the CHF 14 city tax, there was nothing left to do except enjoy the place. The breakfast was good, with plenty of eggs, bread, cheese, jam, butter and a nice selection of coffee.
The views are fantastic. There is also a shared microwave and fridge, which is very useful if you bring your own food.
Going downhill to Wilderswil station is completely different—an easy 10–15 minute walk surrounded by beautiful houses and greenery. The hotel also offers pizza for around CHF 10-15 and coffee for CHF 4.50 until about 21:00, which is very convenient.
And one recommendation: take a walk to COOP through Google Map. Don't think of it simply as going to a supermarket. Enjoy the houses, greenery and surroundings along the way. For me, that simple walk became one of those little travel memories that stays with you.
Overall: beautiful, comfortable and excellent value. Just survive that first uphill walk with your luggage, and then ENJOY! 😄
The only slightly annoying thing in my room was the bathroom exhaust fan, which came on with the light and made an unpleasant noise. However, its just switched off at its own not with the light switch.
The door lock wasn't working from inside but doesnt bother me as travelling solo.
Only electric kettle in the room without coffee sachet, couldn't understand the Science behind this! Is this a COST CUTTING!

Kein Personal das deutsch spricht. Praktisch kein Personal vorhanden.
Bar um 22.00 geschlossen, vorher nur Getränk aus dem Automaten. Nachtportier war auch „Baarkeeper“ er hatte keine Ahnung.

Generally speaking the price was ok. And the staff were good. Parking was available and free too, which is great. This hotel might be a good compromise if you have a car.
It’s warm and there were no functional ACs, the hotel seemed really old and it need to be refurbished. The breakfast was generally good but they kept the scrambled eggs and the bacon in the same food container which is allowing cross contamination by the steam. We had breakfast only the first day in the hotel and then we preferred to go out for breakfast.

Great location with stunning views. Free parking although car park can be busy. Staff are all very friendly and helpful.
Property now feels quite old inside and some aspects (decorations) beginning to feel tired. Very few rooms have aircon although a floor fan was provided.
