Le Mûrier de Viels

Pour un séjour d'affaire, et à quelques kilomètres de Figeac, cette destination est idéale. L'accueil y est chaleureux, la chambre très spacieuse avec un réfrigérateur très apprécié en ces fortes chaleurs. Le lieu est magnifique et au calme. La cuisine y est équilibrée et excellente.

Super vacances en famille. Jolie cadre. Calme. Indépendance des "chambres". Acceuil chaleureux. Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir

Just 3 miles from bustling Figeac, nestled among a forest of trees and up a snaking narrow entrance road, lies Le Murier de Viels. It was a farm once, so the accommodation for guests is in several well-converted, and very sturdy, thick stone-built farm buildings. The swimming pool is down some steps to a lower level of the hotel, so not for use by anyone with a walking disability.

Peace and tranquility await you from the very start. And eating an evening meal expertly and deliciously prepared by Oz, the co-proprietor with his charming wife, Josephine, is taken on the terrace overlooking the wooded valley and Aveyron river below.

Josephine was very helpful with local touring tips, which we found most helpful. Just ask and she knows the answer to most of your questions.

Overall, good value for money and a safe, pleasant place to stay. But you will need your own transport.

Very good hotel on a hill in the woods with a nice and friendly staff. Next to it was a very good restaurant. The enthousiastic cook has prepared a very good dinner of which all the products were fresh and local. A very good experience.

Etape d'un soir dans cet hôtel perdu dans la montagne (à la réservation, nous avions reçu toutes les indications pour la route), composé de petites maisons de pierre: originalité et calme garantis! Joséphine à la réception et Osman en cuisine nous ont reçus avec professionnalisme et gentillesse et nous ont fait regretter de ne pouvoir prolonger notre séjour! Nous essayerons de revenir ...

A beautiful rural location. The large room with picture window open to the view was very comfortable. I did suggest that the bed was a little hard and was assured this would be looked at. I don't doubt it will. A warm welcome, good conversation exchanging travel experiences. Easy drive into Figeac and pleasant local walks near the river. Thanks to Oz and Josephine.

L'accueil est plutôt du style "chambre d'hôtes" qu'hôtel 3 étoiles. Tout le monde s'inquiète si on est bien installé, si il ne nous manque rien, si nous avons bien dormi, bien mangé... Tout serait parfait si ce n'était pas ...trop cher ! Car les chambres comme déjà dit plus haut, sont meublées très simplement, le petit déjeuner est copieux mais rien d'extraordinaire, la piscine n'est pas entretenue et tristounette, tout cela ne serait pas grave si les prix pratiqués étaient en rapport, ce qui n'est pas le cas.
Mais, il est difficile d'en vouloir aux propriétaires qui rachètent beaucoup de choses grâce à leur gentillesse.

El hotel es precioso y el servicio muy bueno. Está algo retirado, pero es muy cómodo y rápido el acceso. La habitación es muy bonita, decorada con mucho gusto, y con una preciosa vista sobre el río.
Cenamos en el hotel, la cena muy bien preparada.

un séjour parfait dans un très joli cadre, des propriétaires charmants, une cuisine excellente au restaurant le soir et des petits déjeuners copieux, la chambre vaste et propre.nous sommes ravis de ce séjour.

Partis sur un coup de tête à la découverte de l'Aveyron et du Lot, nous avons réservé en 3 clics. Dans l'heure, un mail de l'hôtel a fait suite à la confirmation de réservation et nous a expliqué quelle route prendre pour arriver sans chercher. génial ! besoin de GPS ! Bref, séjour court d'une nuit plus qu'agréable de l'accueil au départ sur un super petit-dej copieux, nous avons apprécié l'accés à Figeac, à St Cirq Lapopie et Conques par les routes départementales pittoresques...

We had the most enchanting stay at Le Mûrier de Viels and Oz and Joséphine are very gracious hosts. We only wish we had more time there. Oz is a creative chef and we enjoyed dining on the terrace. Renee was charming and gave us great service. We met very nice couples including Jean & Duncan from the UK,, who also wrote a nice review, We used GPS to find the inn. The property is quiet and relaxing. We hope to return again and again. Certainly will recommend a visit to our friends touring France.

This "hotel" is really a B&B with a restaurant. It is in a lovely location, and the GPS co-ordinates that we were given to find it worked perfectly. However, because of the location, you are a bit captured for evening dining, unless you want to drive some distance. The Wifi worked well, and the pool was nice, although getting a bit chilly (mid-September). The option of dining outdoors on the terrace was great, but we didn't like the hornets that buzzed around in the evening! Spoilt our ability to sit outside our room after dinner, as they were attracted by the light, which we couldn't turn off. We thought the food was a bit over-priced - our 2 night stay cost us 300 Euro - much higher than we had expected.
